We ordered a salad, a kids meal, two entrees and a birthday sundae for four people and it took 2.5 hours to get our food and check. The waiter was very nice but the service was insanely slow. The waiter said the restaurant was very busy but there were many empty rooms and tables. Food was average so overall not the best experience. Would not recommend unless you have a lot of time on your hands.
This is a very nice place to have Italian pasta. We have a table reservation for 2 , that we don't have to be wait. Our service are nice and friendly. We have order small Chopped Antipasti Salad , small Shrimp scampi and small Spicy Chicken Rigatoni. Food are so good and have a lot of leftover to bring home. Highly recommend .
Calamari was very dry and I think double dried from yesterday, the batter was different. Mussels was just okay. Shrimp Florentine only has a few shrimps in it. Overall the portion sizes was noticeably smaller than before, I know because I used to visit all the time. Disappointed!
This is first time to Gaithersburg location, usually go to the one in DC. Food is the same but service wasn't that great. It wasn't that busy (4:30 Sunday afternoon) and we had to ask multiple times for water refills, they didn't have the beers we ordered but took forever to inform us of that. People from other tables were coming over to ask to borrow our condiments such as cheese and balsamic vinegar. I guess they didn't have any on their table(s). All in all, the experience was just ok.
Reservation was set for 7:30 and didn’t get seated for 30 minutes. Not enough staff to bus tables, management speaking rudely to the hostess and not a very welcoming experience. The menu options has also changed for smaller meals choices and less food for more money. We won’t be returning.
Unfortunately this Buca di Beppo location seems to have issues with understaffing, where servers are overwhelmed, which means food takes a long time and drink refills as well. It has happened to us a few times now.
My chicken parmigiana was burnt, but they made me a new one. I had to wait for carry out food for my mom and they gave me a drink while I wait. Very accommodating!
Food was great, however, service was poor as we had to remind our server for water, appetizers, bread etc...various times. We were a group of 15 with small children, updates on food and bringing out kids items early would have been helpful. Also, our waiter had terrible table side manners, kept reaching in to pick up dishes without warning us or not asking if we were finished.
All the food we ordered was horribly delayed, so I am not sure I can recommend this place to a friend though quality of food was good.
120 bucks for 2 small chicken entrees and a small caprese salad, and no alcohol. Ridiculous. High cost for B- grade food. I won't be coming back.
Food was good as usual. Buca was trying hard to show us good service (with two managers inquiring how we were doing), and the waitress was fine, but it was disappointing that the restaurant flagged our Open Table reservation as a no-show before we even made it home after the meal. Restaurants should not be so quick to make that determination without even an attempt at checking their records. And the hostess had acknowledged our reservation by name when we arrived at the restaurant.
Katie was an amazing waitress! We enjoyed our food.
It was not good at all will never go back
Always enjoyable and great service from our server. However I would recommend that the seats be updated as they are beginning to lose their spring.
Mostly good food, but service was super slow. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive and 2 dishes came out cold. Always had to ask our server for drink refills. The veal Parm and mushroom risotto are fantastic. Diners should ask about the spice level on a few dishes as we were surprised by some (ie - the calamari was too spicy for the kids).
We didn't know it was family style, so the 3 of us had to agree on everything. We ended up ordering a chicken entree and a small pepperoni pizza, which left room for a dessert. We prefer individual meals as we all like something different. The food was good, but seemed a bit on the expensive side.
We won't be back.
After reading previous reviews I was a bit apprehensive but extremely surprised with a most enjoyable meal and most helpful waitress and staff. My wife and I had dinner there and were both very satisfied with our meals although the family style portions were somewhat of a surprise. Our waitress, Michelle, was extremely helpful and quite a pleasure. Our salad and entrees were most enjoyable and the manager visited our table to thank us and ask if she could be of any assistance. All in all a most enjoyable dining experience and one we look forward to repeating many times.
Great food and service!
We were hosted by a man in “very dirty” clothes. The place was half empty but he took 10 minutes to find us a table.
We were seated next to an empty table that was not cleaned for an hour. Leftovers on the table, food on the floor, etc.
This place needs a good mgm team to take over quickly!
PS: the food was good.
My visit was excellent, food and service was great. Had a great time at this restaurant. Will return within the next 30 days to enjoy another meal.
Food was delicious. Matthew (our waiter) was wonderful! Such a yummy and wonderful dinner.
They were able to accommodate a large party on short notice. Food was good as was the service. I'll definitely return sometime, especially if I have a large group again.
The food was very good but our server was too busy and needed to wait for our request to be made and to ask for check, entree. etc.. Overall it was a good experience.
For some reason they seated us at a table in the bar area with our 5 children (one of which is 2 years old). It was noisy and the service was slow and not a very attentive waitress. When we went to use the restrooms, there were available tables in the main seating area but at that point we already had drinks and ordered food. Would go back but never sit in the bar area. Not a good place for kids.
We waited an hour before our linguine shrimp florentine arrived..we were told that the kitchen was backed up with pick up orders which infuriated me and my husband even more...we are dine in patrons. The chef came to our table after my husband complained and offered to prepare our dish and it would be ready in 8 minutes. Our server kept telling us that the food would be out soon...she promised.
Great dinner as always! Service for 12 was flawless and quick. Server was spot on with food and drinks. Loved the Pope Room!!! Family reunion first time in four years.
Thanks again Buca!
We had a great waiter and a great meal with friends. It was fun sharing the dishes and we still had leftovers.
We went on a weekday night, not many guests, but the service was nearly unbearably slow. The restaurant took three hours to serve us appetizers, entrees and dessert! We waited for almost one full hour for the entrees to arrive!
Sat at the bar. Good service and the food was excellent. Only downside was they were out of a number of the draft beers...gotta plan better, it's Saturday night!
Overall experience was good. Lots of food. Make sure you are hungry when you go.
Great date night experience!!!
The service was horrible. Got our orders wrong. My daughters birthday icecream came melted. The food had no flavor. It took forever to get anything from the the waitress and even the manager. I would never go back.
The food is always a bit hit or miss, but it was very good this time. And the service was excellent this go-around. Very attentive, helpful staff. And as always, there's enough to take home for the next day which can be useful (given the price and, personally, the fact that our stovetop is broken). Anyway, this isn't fine dining but it's tasty and again, props to the wait staff and nice manager who assisted us.
We had a birthday celebration - party of twelve. The staff was awesome!
Great service! Great food! He had to be one of the best waiters there.
Anniversary was Do Over was everything. Thank You, Izzy and the Manager.
The food is a great change for an evening of indulgence. I love the chopped salad. One of the best for me, I eat mainly vegetables. It is always a fun place to take the family!
We were disappointed on so many levels. Our waiter seemed to not understand what we were saying half the time and always looked confused. Then from the time we got our appetizer salad, it was another 35 minutes until we got our meals. Our prosciutto-stuffed chicken was good but it was breaded and I am on a low carb diet so had to scrape off the breading (the menu did not say that it was breaded). Finally we ordered gelato for dessert. The menu said 2 scoops of vanilla, 2 of pistachio, and 2 of raspberry, all with upside down cones on top. When they brought out the dish it had no raspberry (they were out) and no cones (they were out)! We will not be going back. Very disappointing.
one of the best value Italian restaurants in the area. Portions are family size.
Well Buca di Beppo was a total bust for Mother’s Day 😞 they were totally overbooked, despite taking reservations. The room we were in was so unbelievably loud that we couldn’t hear each other sitting at the same table. After an hour of waiting the food never came. We paid for what we actually did get and we left.
The servers and manager on duty were very kind, however, the lack of food and noise killed it for us.
Food was good, but it took forever.
