All the food we ordered was very good! When the food came out they had brought us the wrong entree. We ordered veal saltimbocca and they brought us chicken saltimbocca. She said for us to go ahead and eat the chicken and that she would give us the veal to take home. Which was awesome. We said that we would settle for the chicken with no complaints but she wouldn't accept that she sent him a whole order of the veal saltimbocca. We will definitely be back! There are very few restaurants or waitresses that would do that anymore. She won us over!
Should have just been closed on Christmas! They were out of everything. Both managers were running around with their shirts sloppily out and one had sweat stains under his arms. Service was very slow AND It never is great service when you get the Bartender as your server, Enough said.
Very simple....Thurs evening and they were out of shrimp, out of meatballs...eliminated about 1/3rd of the menu options. Not sure how restaurant management cannot control inventory better than that.
Service was ok (waitress was able to list what was not available), food ok as well.
Two tries at Buca Di Beppo....two strikes. Not sure we'll give them the chance for strike three!!
We got there before our 8:30 reservation; place was empty, including the hostess desk. Has to wander around restaurant to find her. Seemed not to realize we had a reservation. The food is served as two portions--so if two people go and you both don't want a huge amount left over to take over, you are limited to eating the same thing. You also pay for two meals--regardless of what you order. Bad marketing strategy in my opinion. The music (canned radio) was awful. The food was edible, but I could have made better at home. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you have a huge appetite or everyone wants to eat the exact same thing. Bread was mediocre, fried calamari was ok, entraits were mediocre. Service was fine but we felt they were rushing us to get done so they could go home.
We made reservations based upon the times available on the Open Table app. The restaurant later called saying they needed to change it to an earlier time and after letting them know we could not arrive any sooner they said they would "try their best to accommodate us". Receptionist and manager were not very friendly and were uninviting to another group who arrived after us. We had to remind our server several times for things. Music was too loud.
Our party of nine recently visited Buca di Beppo for a mid-week going-away celebration. We were seated in the semi-private Pope Room, which I highly recommend for a group of our size. The acoustics in the room are great, even though the table is very large. The food and service were excellent, as always. Thanks, Buca and Open Table!
Our waitress was right on top of things. She was a school teacher and knew how to organize things to work well. Two couples ... men split one meal and ladies split another meal. more than adequate portions and the ladies took some home. pace was very nice. we arrived 10 mins early for our open table reservation and were seated promptly on a Sunday evening. Be sure to order one of the giant meatballs to share.
Very good place for families -- they have 2 sizes - small feeds two to three, large feeds four to six. Food was served piping hot and was excellent ( veal parm, spaghetti with meat sauce). Nice birthday presentation along with chocolate chip cannoli. Interesting decor, but best for families, nit couples.
Wished I'd never suggested Buca for our Valentines Dinner (all 7 of us!) Made Reservation, they put 3 of us in one room, and 4 in another- and we sat waiting for our party for 40 long minutes. Until we connected by phone! Waitress was. RUDE and food was poor- it was a bust for Valentines Day.
We made reservations for 7:15 didn't get seated for 45 minutes..it was chaos I understand because of the holiday but tables were open just not enough ppl to clean them off...just disorganized and we were told no chicken Parmesan ordered another chicken and then chicken came out to our table on accident asked her I thought u said u didn't have Parmesan and she said that's what the kitchen said..then husband ordered a 2nd beer and had to remind her for the beer..again I get she was busy..but just letting u guys know u should better prepare for this kind of volume..
Expecting that the restaurant like this would be crowded we booked a reservation for a party of 3 at 6:30p several days in advance. We arrived at 6:15p and were told that we'd have to wait 60-90 minutes to be seated. I can understand running 10-15 mins behind, but 60-90 minutes is unreasonable.
The least they could have done is contact those with reservations to let us know to arrive later or at least to let us know that the reservation wouldn't be honored. They didn't do that either.
We won't be going back.
BTW....the Food, Service, Ambiance, and Value ratings of one-star are there because the system requires something to be entered. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not provide us with the opportunity to experience any of these items.
First - the food --- I think what you'd expect for an Italian chain restaurant. Not an exquisite culinary experience, but filling and satisfying. Our reservation was for 5:30. We arrived at 5:00 got seated at 7:15. What a mess! The ONLY redeeming factor (and it was big) was the staff. The hostess worked very hard and maintained her composure. Although the manager was a little slow in appearing, he gave everyone a 20% discount. And when we finally got seated our server was so sweet, professional, fun, energetic (and had been on for 10 hours) What was shameful -- were the patrons. Everyone who yelled, cursed, made derogatory comments to the staff should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves. What a poor commentary on the human spirit AND on Christmas. And hopefully the powers that be at this Buca di Beppo also learned a valuable lesson
We arrived at this restaurant promptly at 1pm. We were seated very quickly. We were seated at a 6 person table and we had 7. I did not complain but the restaurant was half full so not sure why that happened. That occurred with another large party and they moved on their own. I did not complain and just took a seat and put on the end of the table. Our server took our order very quickly and brought out our garlic bread. Everyone around us was getting there food very buy and our server kept telling us not sure why our food is not here. She would check and tell us it would be out shortly. Finally, at 2:15 I asked to speak to a manager. I waited another 5 minutes with the server talking me the manager would be out shortly. Finally the food arrived with the exception of one dish. The manager walked out with the dis with a very annoyed look on his face. He set it down and asked if we needed anything else. When I started to tell him howling we waited, he rudely interrupted me and said there was a backup in the kitchen. When I questioned that since everyone else got their food, he said that there was mistake on our order. He kept interrupting me and it frustrated me so bad, I said just for get it. Our garlic bread was hard and cold and it was difficult to eat the food since the manager was so mean to us. However, the food did taste good. When we finished eating, my wife asked if there was another manager on site or could we have the phone number of the general manager. The server said there was a kitchen manager who was over the manager we met and she would send him out. We waited another 5 minutes with her telling us he would be out shortly which never happened. Frustrated we paid our bill and left. We will never be back and I plan to tell everyone I know about this experience.
Thanksgiving 2015. Late afternoon, restaurant not yet crowded. Hostess friendly, our party of three seated promptly. No flatware or napkins had been set. Drinks took more than ten minutes to arrive, all diluted from melted ice - still no flatware. Food order taken. Our table approached over the next twenty minutes by servers delivering full meals to our table - none of which were ordered by us. More people being seated as 6PM came and went. Correct food order arrived at our table 40 minutes from having been placed. Food passable - nothing more/nothing less. Lots left over. My first and last experience with this franchise.
It was my birthday and we met friends at Buca Di Beppo's for a celebration dinner. Waitress was attentive, timing was just right for ordering and serving. Salad was excellent and out dinners were wonderful. We ordered one fabulous dessert and received the birthday serenade. All in all a perfect evening.
We celebrated my daughter's birthday there. They made a big deal it was her birthday. The manager stopped by twice, once to say happy birthday and again to check on our food. They sang for her and gave her a card. They made her birthday great. Thank you to the manager and wait staff.
I do not like the fact that you can not only order helping for 1 person what if both of us in party of 2 want different entrees. Plus our veal was very toug and over cooked. We ordered chicken parmisan and waitress screwed up and have us veal which was awful.
When we lived in Austin, TX we visited our local Buca regularly. They made us feel like we were part of the family... Like an Italian family. The food was amazing, the staff was attentive, and the Manager Ron Hurley always went above and beyond to make sure we always had amazing experience!
This Buca... while the manager on duty was nice... that's about all I can be positive about. Our server was attentive until the manager left, We had to beg for water... our calamari came out in microscopic pieces over cooked... When our dinner came out, (we ordered the stuffed chicken parm with basil pesto sauce and a side of rigs with sauce) the chicken looked great, but the pasta had little to no sauce on it, and the pasta itself looked as if it was the last of the days food, dry and shriveled. Now granted, we arrived around 8 on a Sunday, but if you are going to charge $$$ kind of prices... You had better make sure the food is comparable to the charge. When we were ready to leave, we attempted to get the attention of some servers passing by to help locate our server... We were absolutely ignored. My husband had to get up and go to the where the servers cash out the checks and ask one of them to send our server to the table with the check.
I mentioned that we were regulars at our local Buca in Austin, TX ... Sadly, it won't be the same at this location.
Buca has always been one of my favorites for a while. I love the bruchetta and veal. We went early on sat at 5:30pm. The service was great. But if you really want my review, the bruchetta was dry ( no juice/ balsalmic) i had to ask for the bottle and drizzle more on as a bite of salt. And the veal in my opinion was way to thick it was good. But it did not melt in your mouth good. Maybe there was a new chef or just an off night i understand and we will go back. This was first time it being just a bit off. Thank you
We went to celebrate Mother's Day and my husband's birthday. We have been to other Buca di Beppo locations and loved the food. The food at the Ft. Myers location was disappointing. The veal portions were very small, the Alfredo sauce on the pasta was thin like soup and the Caesar salad was drowning in dressing. The server was very attentive and took care of all our requests, but she hadn't been trained well on the menu. She didn't know the difference between an espresso, a cappuccino or a latte. She also didn't know the names of some of the menu items.
Fast service, good food but disorganized. Waitress brought the food before we got our plates. We had spaghetti but had to ask for Parmesan cheese. Corporate forgot a bar code on my gift certificate. Gift certificate was unclear that 2 pastas couldn't be sides. In fairness they honored ten dollars of my twenty dollar gift certificate. Food was very good though. I would recommend the Fort Myers location but check your service
Friday night, restaurant barely half full. Waitress was terrible, we ran out of drinks. Lost the entree list and had to come back to ask us what we wanted again. Told us the reason for everything being so slow was "full house", which was a lie. Garlic bread is a joke, barely toasted bread with a hint of garlic. Worst experience, will never return.
