Buca di Beppo - Florida Mall Ratings and Reviews
Hosts were rude. Didn’t welcome us into the restaurant. Waited an hour for our food, which never ended up coming. Tables that ordered after us got their food, ate and left. We couldn’t wait anymore due to other plans we had. Manager did nothing but say he was sorry and that he would make the food for us if we stayed. Terrible birthday experience. Will never go here ever again. And recommend every single one of our friends to never go there. We went to the one in celebration the next day and had an amazing time.
I love this Italian Restaurant. The portions are good, the flavor is very good, and the prices are friendly. It's a good place to take a large group, as the plates are for family style sharing, and are generous enough for everyone to get their fill. If it is only two of you, plan to get the "small portion" and expect to bring some home!
Slow service (although waiter was engaging and friendly), dirty silverware on table, indifferent greeting at podium, lost our reservation (they claimed they did not have one even after I showed them the confirmation; then reported our reservation cancelled to OpenTable). Overly loud as restaurant filled up.
Got seated at 1:30pm for a Sunday lunch with 8 people in our party.
Waitress took our drink order but we had to wait 10 minutes for straws.
Silverware was then provided; half of it stained with food stuck to it.
menus had food on them. Staff is friendly and helpful but service was slow.
Took 1 HOUR to get our food, 2 hours by the time we paid our check.
Food was edible but I could have made better at home; nothing great.
To call this Italian food is as sacrilegious as their decor (see pic)
Definitely a first ...and a last time.
Food was pretty good - average. Dessert was not great. Sundae was so frozen and put together ahead of time so you could hardly dig into it. Tiramisu proportions were not on point at all. Too much mascapone cheese. Service was kind of slow, but servers were friendly. Overall, it was an average dining experience.
There were plenty of pretty bad reviews that I've read in the last few days before heading here. Only reason I went out of the norm and not going due to bad reviews was to get their ice cream sundae desert.
I don't really have high expectations in terms of service, but it was good. I think I got one of the better servers of the afternoon.
Food wise, we ordered a Large Pizza Supreme. Figured can't really go wrong with pizza! They said it would serve 5 people so I was expecting something larger. With 2 kids, and 2 adults, we were able to finish the whole thing with ease. A larger pizza would have been nice, this didn't appear to be like the other Large pizzas I've gotten.
The desert, was as expected. Awesome. 6 brownies, under chocolate and vanilla ice cream. All topped with what seemed like a whole bottle of whipped cream, fudge, and caramel. This is definitely recommended.
Can't go wrong here. Prices are a bit on the high side, but it's placed right in the Florida Mall so you do pay that premium. The restaurant is better suited for large groups, as their other plates, other than pizza all seemed pretty large and fit their "family style" mantra.
This location continues to go down in quality. I go to this restaurant a lot for personal and business reasons as the family sized portions fit most of my needs. Every visit brings a challenge. Sometimes it's rude service, sometimes it's slow service, and even with a reservation through open table or by phone, my party ends up waiting. This most recent time we were seated right away and the waiter was polite. We never got bread until the meal came, and that's only because we asked for it numerous times throughout our visit. We were told that they had run out and fresh loaves were in the oven. When it finally came, the bread was cold and we never were offered the accompanying olive oil. Trivial as this may seem, the mounting issues are leaving me with the urge to find a new eatery to take large groups.
The only complaint was that the booth seats are worn out. We sunk down in the seats, and after sitting there for an hour and a half, both our backs were hurting. We are not large heavy people. Seats need to have much more support. Food and service were excellent!
This was a very disappointing experience. Having been to other Buca restaurants I did not hesitate to book my mother's 90th birthday party there. It was just a disaster from the get go. I had called them directly to make sure we could get a room for 20 people and was assured that there was no problem Upon arrival, we were taken to a large table to the back of the main dining room. I asked the manager about it and really got no satisfactory answer. Not sure what happened. He comped us a large appetizer guessing that it would makes us happy. Wrong. The place was noisy, we couldn't even hear ourselves talk. My mother was miserable which made us miserable. So then we tried to order which was another disaster. We didn't have a clue how much food to get for all of us. I was told later by the waitress that we should have had a special menu so we could have planned ahead of time. We wound up ordering 2 pizzas, a large bowl of spaghetti and meatballs that had very little sauce and tough meatballs and a bowl of ravioli which was drenched in sauce. We quickly ate our food, paid the outrageous bill and left. I will never go there again. It really ruined my mother's party. One thing I want to add is that we only had one waitress for the entire table, and she did the best job she could possibly do under the circumstances. Don't remember her name though.
This is a family style dining restaurant, which means that 2 or 3 people eat the same course. That is difficult in a family that likes different foods and have to settle on something together. The fried mozzarella is probably handmade and delicious but expensive for fried cheese. We got the Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken which was three chicken breasts. However we could hardly see or taste the prosciutto. To call it stuffed is an overstatement and we probably paid more for that barely there prosciutto. The pesto cream sauce was very good and we asked for more to dip our chicken in. The entrees do not come with a side for the $25, so a side is another $10 for pasta. Which is crazy. I think this place would be good for a larger family or group that can share multiple dishes but for 2 people it just didn't work as well.
