Normally this Bucca is very good... We ordered the Ziti, it was barely warm, which is very unusual. Would've considered sending back, however, we had already been there far too long. The other disappointing thing was the Calamari... We used to love it there, however, the last couple of times we ordered, it wasn't very good (tough/chewy, and had sort of a burnt taste). We'll most likely go again, just hoping we start seeing some improvements.
We love the food at Buca but had stopped going since the manager Brad left. The service, wait time and food went downhill when he wasn't in charge. We decided to give it a new try and met the new manager and assistant manager and we were happy to see that things are looking up at this restaurant once again. Looking forward to going back.
Really cool Italian restaurant. Food is really good and the portions are huge. The service was prompt, fast and knowledgeable. The decor is pretty cool as well. I'd definitely recommend to anyone who want some Italian food.
Our server was amazing but the food was not great.
The fettuccine tasted like whipping cream and had no seasoning on it.
Great Service , food was ok! Huge menu! Great for kids n family!
Not a great experience. An hour before close and they were basically shut down. Seated us next to the kitchen and really wasn't enjoyable to see them mopping and eating food back there. We were told the appetizer was "frozen already", and when we got it, was chewy and undercooked. They pushed the veal at half off, but sadly it was awful. Both of us actually had stomach issues that night. Don't think we will be back.
Family style authentic Italian. Bruschetta is amazing. Serving size states small 2-3 but easily feeds 4
Great for group
They were very acommodating and we had a great experience. :-)
Always a good go to for family style Italian food.
Why did I move here?
Overworked waitress but she tried hard to do a good job. Tasteless shrimp Florentine.
Food was great. We sat their a while before we were approached. Lava cake was hard.
Absolutely terrible experience. Dinner out with the family and it could not have been worse. We were seated 15 minutes after our reservation in a dirty room with tables that had dirty dishes on them next to us, bread was late, server was never available, floor was dirty, we had to wait way too long for everything. Lastly the pasta did not have enough sauce and drinks were never refilled. We will not be back
Service was very slow that night. Food was good but everything took a long time to get
New Year's Eve dinner
Service and food were great! I loved the alcove we were given for our group! Waiter was attentive and food and was served in a timely manner!
I had to rate the food but didn't get to eat here. My experience deserves negative stars. My family had to take my mother to the emergency room on Christmas Day. We had a couple of hours to wait while tests were being run so I checked Open Table and learned that the nearby Buca di Beppo in Florence was open and had seating available. I made the reservation. When we got to the restaurant people crammed the reception area, the hall, and were spilling out the door. I made my way to the host stand where a large fellow named Jeff, wearing a shirt covered in marinara, told me there would be a delay of at least 10 minutes. Some people in line spoke up saying that they had been waiting 90 minutes even with reservations! I asked Jeff how it was that at that minute Open Table showed availability in every time slot when they were clearly overbooked, he told me the restaurant has no control over what shows up on Open Table. I told Jeff that wasn't true and asked for a manager. Eventually a manager named Phillip or Phillips came and admitted that the wait would be considerable. When I asked him why Open Table showed all times available given the large waiting crowd he gave me the same line about that being Open Tables fault. I asked if it wasn't true that Open Table ties in to their reservation and seating system and showing availability was dishonest he apologized and said "there is nothing I can do. It's corporate policy."
I changed the reservation to Mitchell's in Newport who have a more honest reservation policy.
I don't know if it's just this Buca that is dishonest or if in fact they have a corporate policy that requires lying.
I have had a better experience in other Bucas. The food smelled great but I won't be back. Open Table should see if this is an everyday practice, or if somehow evil incompetents took over for the holidays.
Don't trust this one.
Christmas day reservations - was overbooked and understaffed. Food was good and the staff were doing their best under difficult circumstances. Tables piled high with dirty dishes - not enough staff to bus tables. With reservations wait was 45 minutes.
Good food but our server went AWOL on us. After 30 minutes I had to ask a manager to find out what happened to our food. No apologies....very disappointed in the service for this visit.
Good tasted good.
Good solid Italian food - large portions for a reasonable price.
Great service, food and convenience. Always a good experience.
Food was cold and looked old. We ordered a large lasagna, we received 2 smalls and the one looked old and was barely warm. One person in our party ordered a beer that the waitress had to be reminded to get. Overall it wasn't a good experience. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
We needed a place that would allow us to make Mothers Day reservations for lunch for a party of 13. (Not usually an easy thing to do!). When we called Bucca, the representative was most helpful. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately, with no wait. Our waiter, (Darius), was great. He wished all the moms in our party Happy Mother's Day and continued to take excellent care of us during the whole dining experience. The food was great and reasonably priced when you take into consideration how large the portions are and how many each dinner serves. We ordered a large Caesar salad for the table and some Mozzerella sticks for appetizers. For dinner, we ordered the large Chicken Marsala, large fettuccine alfredo, small Spinach Florentine, small Baked Ziti and Small Spicy Chicken Rigatoni. Those dinners were more than plenty for all 13 of us and everyone enjoyed lots of delicious food! All of the dishes were very good, but as for the 'favorite' of the day, I believe the winner was the Chicken Marsala!
Love their salad! If you like authentic Italian food - sauces are light and enjoyable. They give you plenty of food - served family style. Service was attentive and non-intrusive,
Great night out with the family! The food and the staff were top notch!
Experience was nice however linguine & fetticcine were overcooked.
Been here to dine a few times before. Had the Chicken Parm. and the spaghetti and meat balls and both these dishes were fantastic. This time we shared the stuffed mushrooms and they were some of the best we have ever had. For the main course my wife and I shared the lasagne and it was some of the worst. All mushy and couldn't taste any meat in it. Never will order that again. I do know they really have good food though just to over priced in the evenings. You get the same amount of food for lunch at about 60% the cost. I know we will be going back just not for dinner only lunch.
