Buca di Beppo - Exton Ratings and Reviews
I went to Buca Di Beppo for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, the servers were attentive and the prices were reasonable. We had the penne alla vodka which was very tasty, the chicken Parmesan, also very good and The veal Marsala hitch was very tender and flavorful. I will definitely go back and try this restaurant again.
We've eaten dinner at Buca and celebrated birthdays there since they opened and have always had a good experience. Tonight was different. This was by the slowest service we've EVER had. The restaurant wasn't even close to full but the service was awful. The server was nice and polite but it took 25+ minutes for them to bring out three bowls of ice cream. He left the menus on the table and we stacked our own dishes. We had to ask for bread three times and it took at least 15 minutes to bring two additional glasses of wine. The food was excellent and piping hot so that was a plus. I have no idea what was going on tonight but the overall experience was less than stellar.
Went for my moms birthday dinner. Lots of food, decent pricing, service was very good. Overall we had a great night. We had a party of 4 and had about 4 small plates and had plenty of leftovers (and we can eat!) We would return again especially for a birthday!
Service and atmosphere was excellent. Food was somewhat disappointing as the penna a la vodka was unexpectedly spicy yet the spicy bolognese was not very spicy and was somewhat dry. The ziti, however, was very good and the tiramasu was excellent. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants authentic Italian food , however, if you are not Italian, the food would be acceptable.
Don't bother! Hostess didn't check us in properly so later reservations were seated ahead of us. Had to hunt for help with a large drink spill. They delivered chicken parm and spaghetti w/ no sauce (supposed to be on the side). 15 minutes later we had to hunt down someone to find the rest of our food (sauce for spaghetti & sausage pasta dish). Blamed the manager who was running the food. Food was good but pricey ($27 for a plate of spaghetti as a side for the chicken parm). Will def not be on our go to list of restaurants.
Waitress seemed a little flustered at first, but the manager helped her out and it worked out ok. Within 2 minutes of being at the restaurant we heard the F bomb used by kitchen staff 2-3 times, which was uncomfortable since we had children with us. Food was good and the rest of the experience was fine.
Our waiter was great but they put us in the area where they put families with children and I think it's unfair to expect other customers to tolerate the noise and the disruption of other people's children the parents were oblivious to their children and the disruption they were causing
Truly one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We had a 6:15 reservation for the Pope room. Were seated around 6:25 and then no server came by and it was 6:45. I finally walked over to a waitperson station and asked if we would ever see a waitperson.
The waitress McKenzie was friendly enough and to be fair most of the problems that developed were not her fault. It seems there was an extreme shortage of staff in the kitchen and the food took forever to come out. We are talking hours to come out. The Apple Gorgonzola salad was excellent. The cheesy garlic bread was poor and the pasta entrees were mediocre. The Chicken Parm we ordered came to the table as another chicken entrée.
The manager came to our table and did her best to make things right, knocking some $$ off the check and offering to prepare the chicken parm to go (which they did). Later the manager offered us free desserts for the table either to eat there or to go, but at this point we were all so tried by the experience we just wanted to get out of there.
We always used to enjoy Buca including this location. I guess they have trouble staffing the place on the day after Christmas.
Enjoyed our time and our meal. Be fore warned...portions are large, even the small (for 2-3).
Really good value, but understaffed for weekend crowds. Fortunately, we had time to spare as we were seated right at our reservation time, but the kitchen was backed up and food came out very slowly. Wait staff great, but unfortunately had to apologize for the wait several times. Food really good - we'll be back!
We went here once before, and it was OK. I heard good things about it so i gave it another shot. The best way i can describe it is overpriced fast food Italian. About 5-10 minutes north and south are better Italian restaurants for the same price or less.
We were disappointed in the food quality on this occasion. The Lasagna was definitely not tasty and was almost overcooked as it was burned on the ends. It was dry and had no real flavor...almost pasty. They also must have changed their house Pinot Grigio wine as it was not crisp and fresh as it used to be. The Italian sausage was fatty and greasy tasting. Just not as we have experienced in the past.
We have eaten here many times before and the food has always been very consistent in quality and flavor. Service is prompt, which is very much appreciated when a toddler is part of the group.
Unfortunately we were disappointed this time. VERY slow service, forgotten item requests and not up to standard food. Hopefully this was a one time occurrence. We will give them another chance.
This was my first and last trip. Parental warnings are needed for those with young children, nude art is plentiful and our 11 year old boys came out of the bathroom questioning why there were pictures of naked boys in the bathroom. The Ceasar salad was soggy with brown leaves. It was sent back without question from the waitress. The waitress was the best thing about this setting. The environment was dingy and our plates scratched, silverware Spotty. Even the 9 year old questioned whether t h e silverware was clean.
We have had many events at Buca I must say this was the most disappointing meal I have ever been served. We ordered the Trio appetizer the calamari was terrible and the mozzarella sticks were burned. As the main meal arrived plenty for all as usual. We noticed the meatballs were black in most spots they were terrible also. Chicken was the only thing anyone at the table had good things to say about. Pasta dish was bland and not up to my past experiences.
