if I could give negative stars I would. It was my graduation weekend. My resevation was at 1:30pm on Saturday. I waited over an hour for a waiter or server to meet me at the front. My mom and sister who came around 2:30 marched in there and we sat ourselves basically. One of the cups of water was cracked and water was all over the place. My mother basically took charge of the dinner and ended up ordering for everyone, Food was good for the most part.

Anniversary celebration for my parents’ 68th! Food was great, but the staff seemed to be having a rough go of it. Seemed short staffed and the hostess was short tempered, but once things settled, everything else went well.

Made 745 reservation. Arrived at 630 hoping for earlier seating. We were told that there was no seating and that they weren’t honoring any reservations. Disappointing birthday dinner.

Love this place. The food is amazing and huge serving sizes, but this time they had tons of open tables and just about 30 people left while we were waiting to get seated and they said that they couldn’t seat us despite reserving a table while we were sitting there. They said they weren’t seating people in the empty section that we saw and couldn’t clean the section that had just been vacated and then serve us before they close. I understand that they were closing in an hour but it was just two of us and there were obviously 15-20 clean tables that we could have sat at and had a quick dinner.

Always enjoy our dinners at Buca with a group of friends. We got lucky this time, seated far away from the school groups so it wasn't a lot of commotion around us. Our server, Free, was attentive.

There’s no option for 0 stars. There should be for this place. I’m visiting the area and had made a reservation for 8 on Saturday night. When we GOT THERE, they said they overbooked and could not honor our reservation. They were taking buses full of people instead. They should have called me and said they made a mistake and we could have tried to find another place. They instead, did not tell us until we got there! How am I supposed to find a proper place to eat for 8 last minute? Then they said we could change our reservation to hours later but we would not have good service either. If their service is this lousy, so would their food. Completely ruined my family’s get together and dinner plans. Will never eat there. Don’t recommend. I would rather support a business that respects their customers and their experience.

Everything was wonderful except service was a bit slow. We were never offered refills on our drinks, and she wasn’t nearby for us to ever even ask. We also had to wait over a half an hour to see her to ask for our check. Then we had to ask a second time before we actually got it. Still never receiving a refill on drinks. She was very very kind and attentive when she was at our table, and the food was DELICIOUS!!

This was an incredible family gathering for the birthday of one of our family’s matriarchs. The food was wonderful. However, we did not follow the suggestion of the waitress and ordered way too much food. However, we had a lot to take home. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant, which was very unusual as we had been there many times before. However, it was a great time of fellowship. I highly recommend it for family gatherings, and gatherings of friends.

We shared 5 dishes among 6 of us. The salad was smaller than normal, everyone loved the Marsala, the spicy chicken rigatoni was not as good as normal and the portion of chicken was very small/too small. Only 2 people got chicken and even then not much. They finally brought one basket of bread about 20 minutes in, though we asked for it three times. We ordered the cheesecake and tiramisu. The tiramisu was delicious, but the cheesecake was shockingly bad. First, it did not have a crust, second it was almost chalky - as if it had been frozen and unfrozen multiple times, and the texture and taste were really bad. I mentioned this to our server (it was obvious just by looking at it). I suggested that they not serve it to anyone else. The server said ok, didn’t apologize (except for no crust), and didn’t offer to discount or compliment it. That uneaten slice cost $16. Our family usually really enjoys ourselves and the kids get excited to go. but this was a real disappointment and I’m not sure we’ll go again after countless visits. Very disappointing.

We went there with a party of six and had a great experience. The staff was nice and even the manager came to the table and checked on us. Food was good and priced fairly. We will come again.

Do not make a reservation here. Or at least do not plan to eat here because we never did. Made a reservation and waited over an hour and were never seated. They seated people out of order. Never took peoples names when they arrived. And the host could usually not be found. I asked if I could order take out then just sit at a table and eat. He said he would “check on my reservation” and never returned. I was promised 10 more minutes or 20 more minutes and it never happened. I put in a complaint with corporate and they didn’t even apologize. Don’t waste your time here. All you will be is hungry.

Please train your staffs to give the guests more information/ instructions on the restaurant’s experience. We were a group of 11 people with that being our first time in your establishment, we didn’t get the right information to know to that they dropped the coaster on the table and how to use it, so we’re getting any meat for while until we asked they told us we have to turn the coaster. Love the salad bar.

They are hugely understaffed. The hostess was so rude to me I almost got in a shouting match with her. The server we had was very kind but just completely overwhelmed.

It was an interesting experience. Upon arriving, there was NO ONE up front…my husband and I had to walk throughout the restaurant to find assistance which was a turn off. We were the only ones there aside from another table. We ordered our drinks finally (we waited for over 10 minutes which was strange since the restaurant was empty). We finally get to order and my food was forgotten about…he never put my order in. So by the time my food came out, everyone else was finished eating. The experience was not what we are use to while dining at a Buca Di Beppo. Probably won’t be back.

Great food, great service, and relaxed casual atmosphere. Been here on business (corporate event) and also many family outings. A favorite. Food is in large portions and family style. Went here last with a large group of friends and our families - very accommodating and always great Italian food. Unique decorations (irreverent Italian). Would highly recommend.

we actually walked out because after being seated in a room that was completely empty, we were left unattended for over 15 minutes with no one asking if we would like water, drinks ect. staff was over all just very rude and acted like they didn’t want to be there. wouldn’t go back.

Made reservations for 7:30PM, arrived at 7. They sat us within 10 minutes of arriving. Took about 20 minutes to take our order, including drinks. Then we waited over an hour for our food while we watched the table next to us, who sat down after us, get their food before us. The staff did finally bring us a salad, on the house, when they saw my husband getting upset. We had almost decided to walk out. When we finally received our dinner, they brought broccoli as they had run out of brussel sprouts and didn’t charge us. We found the food very tasty and had plenty to take home for leftovers. By the way, we planned this dinner to celebrate our 19th year Wedding Anniversary.

Our reservation was for a larger party at 7:15pm. Another larger party came in with a reservation at 7:30pm. The hostess sat them them before us. I inquired asking what happened to our reservation and a manage came out to seat us. I guess I should've stayed at the counter in the face of the hostess like the other party....but that's not me. After 45 minutes we were finally seated. We were planning to order drinks but only got water. Our server finally came back to the table and took out food orders. We ordered appetizers and never got them until after dinner. The food came out and wasn't very hot. It was always a good place to go for our annual conference with larger groups. There are other restaurants in the area that I will definitely visit next year. I will never go back to this location.

Overall a great experience. The food is amazing, one of the best Italian restaurants in DC! It’s a great value for the amount of food you get. We went on a Sunday evening, and the service wasn’t the best. A lot of time went by between us seeing our waitress, so we ended up being there for about 2 hours. The busboy also kept trying to take our plates before we were finished. It did seem like they were short staffed.

Looks old and dirty. Crying Babies and children everywhere. Food looked like it came from a school cafeteria. It was inedible. Services are not properly trained as servers. Disaster!

We made a reservation on a night when most restaurants were closed due to a huge snowstorm in Washington, DC. When we got there, the maître d said they had decided to close. We begged him to honor our reservation. He said he could not because he had already sent his waiters home, but he had a catering order that someone had failed to pick up and he’d give us the food free. We took it back to the hotel and had enough to feed five of us plus some of the hotel staff. Everyone was happy and the food was delicious.

Food was good, servers were kind and friendly, but management really needs to hire more people or accept less reservations. We feel bad for the staff being so understaffed and run as hard as they were, so we’re not going to ding the service, just the overall. Good food, reasonably priced and nice ambiance.
