Buca di Beppo - Columbus Ratings and Reviews
Very eclectic and vibrant decor. Popular spot for large parties celebrating birthdays and it gets loud and somewhat raucous inside. Very big portions of food, with great flavor. Service was good initially but as the restaurant got busier it noticeably took our server longer to check in on us. I enjoyed our visit but would try to avoid Saturday night in the future.
Overall, our dining experience was good, but not as good as my past dining experiences at this same restaurant. The service was a little slow; however, the restaurant was packed, and the server was likely overwhelmed. The server was friendly, we just did not see much of her and had to wait a while for our drinks, check, etc. The food was excellent, as it has been in past experiences at this restaurant. The restaurant was really loud, but I guess this is to be expected given we were dining on the night of an event at Nationwide Arena. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, as well as dine there again.
It had been many years since we had visited Buca di Beppo, & it did not disappoint. The food was phenomenal; the service was great...we made great conversation with our dining neighbors :) We are looking forward to taking our son to the local restaurant for his 18th birthday in March!
The food had very little flavor. The garlic bread tasted fishy. The best part was the dessert other then the tiramisu it didn't have that good coffee taste that it should. Very disappointed had been told how wonderful it was. For the amount that we spent our socks should of been knocked off.
Had the Spicy Shrimp and pizza, both good. Not too crazy about my mixed wine drink as it was too sour tasting and not in a good way. Service was fast as it was a slow evening. I was there between 6 pm - 7 pm. Why are you demanding that the review have a minimum amount of characters? Is that of any benefit to the patron?
We were sat at a dirty table the floor was filthy. I said to the hostess the table was dirty because spaghetti sauce was on it she said ok and placed the menus down on the sauce. A few minutes last someone came to wipe the table. Didn't get a good feeling. The food was ok but not worth the price.
We had a reservation and the hostess was clearly overwhelmed. It was a very busy night and even though we had a reservation we waited for 20 minutes. We were seated at a dirty table and the hostess said she would get someone to wipe it. That didn't happen until our server came 10 minutes later to wipe it. It took our server 15 minutes to get our drink order. The kitchen took a while too due to the volume of orders.
The management clearly needs to staff their restaurant better. We were part of a large convention and being right across from the arena where 10,000 people are for the weekend they should be over staffing their restaurant. Not understaffing.
The service was poor. It was very overpriced for what we ordered. $20 for a side of plain pasta to go with our chicken Marsala? It was a very early dinner, like 4pm and not many people in the restaurant. However- instead of spreading new comers out... they put us all in a small little nook one table after the other. It was awkward and very tight. We were highly disappointed and will not be back.
I had been to one of these years ago in another state. Don't recall the experience I had here.
The appetizer for $17 that gave us 8 pieces of fried cheese seemed excessive (the price vs. the qty)
I get the "share" idea, but forcing a couple to order food for 3 or 4 people is a bit much. Not to discredit them for the business model, I knew it was family style going in, just the fact that literally nothing could be ordered for an individual was disturbing.
We had to grab our own silverware off of an open table and had to ask for plates when our main dish arrived.
The server was pleasant, just not overly attentive.
Food was just ok. The $17 fried mozzarella could have been TGIFridays or something from Kroger. Was not impressed with the quality.
The main dish was good and plentiful as we could have fed 4 people on it.
Overall an ok experience. Would likely try again and would recommend just know what you're getting into and go with a group of 3 or more to get the best value.
Experience was not the best. We've been here before but not everyone at our table had been, and oddly enough, friends of ours went a few weeks later and had a similar experience. They ended up leaving after being seated. Anyway, here were our issues. Our waitress was ok; she was attentive enough but she definitively had an odd know it all attitude. That alone didn't bother me. It was the remainder of the experience. Entrees were extremely slow getting out (for a not full restaurant on a Sunday night). Both salads were extremely overdressed. Our salad order was messed up, and so was one of the entrees (both were corrected quickly with mistakes made in the corrections). Then the baked ziti had very little sauce or cheese. Also, the soda was flat. When you add all of these small minor issues up, it just made for one overall negatively memorable experience, and then to find our friends had similar issues a few weeks later makes me think something is going wrong with the management here. We were a one check almost $400 table. Just was very disappointed in the experience. Probably won't be back to that location for a very long time.
Love this restaurant and it's food. Don't come on a holiday. It was so loud. The servers couldn't keep up with the amount of people. Better yet, the kitchen couldn't keep up. We had meatballs that we're burnt. Our sever quickly replaced them with more burnt meatballs, but they were covered with sauce which helped. Our pizza was a little overdone but eatable. All in all I do believe this is a great place to come to have meal served family style with a little something for everyone.
