Buca di Beppo - Columbus Ratings and Reviews
We love to come here before Columbus blue jacket hockey games. Food is served quickly and always tastes good! Servings are family style and very large-fun to get a few to share. Only problem is that the foyer is small so waiting g for a table gets cramped but there is a bar to the side as well. My favorite entree is th spaghetti and meatballs and the ziti with ricotta cheeses. The garlic bread is very good too and cut into smaller piec s so that you are not filling up too much on bread. The decor offers a lot to look at and is very comforting and casual. A great place to bring kids since noise level gets a bit higher.
I was disappointed in the service. We had a party of 10. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, but they seemed short staffed. We were not allowed to use two coupons within two separate checks. We were told that only one per table could be used. There is no mention of that on the coupon itself. The waitress didn't ask if we needed leftover containers. Once she got her money, she was nowhere to be seen. Initially, it took her a while to take orders and give refills. She didn't seem very pleasant. I won't be going back. Once my coupon was denied, that did me in. I'll go to the Olive Garden or Spaghetti Warehouse.
We love to come to your restaurant, but this wasn’t a good experience at all. We checked in early and let them know we would be in the bar area. We checked after 15 minuets of our reservation time, they said we were next, after another 15 minuets they told us we are next. By this time the waiting area was empty. I stood there for another 10 minuets....EVERYONE had been seated, I told her that we had not, she acted very inconvenied, and told me she had called our name, which she hadn’t, we would have heard.
Our food was okay, all the paste seemed way over cooked and tough. Hope our next visit is better.
The stuffed mushroom app was outstanding. However the stuff chicken was dry and the breading was mushy. Our garlic bread arrived 15-20 minutes after our main course. The meal was about $100 for two of us which is extremely overpriced for such mediocre to below average food.
Very shabby service experience with multiple staff members outright complaining about working in front of customers. We had to flag people down for water, to order, to get OIT check. The manager walked around with his head hung down doing virtually nothing.
The service was awful. It took 15 minutes for us to receive our wine, everybody at our table needed a water refill and server was nowhere to be found, our table of 6 only had cutlery for 4 and we had to ask twice for the cutlery and 2 people could not eat their salads. When we expressed to our lady server (2 servers were working together), that we asked for water refills 10 minutes ago, her response was “well we are busy and that’s not a bad excuse”!!! We will never go back.
We had reservations for 6:00 and called because we were stuck in traffic. Arrived at 6:20 and were told the reservation wasn’t held. Decided to try Open Table for a new reservation and was able to get another reservation for 45 minutes later. Our server understood our need to be done by 8:00 for a concert at Nationwide. We were there with time to spare!
Food is good, but not notable. Our 6:00 pm reservation was not honored until after 6:30. People were packed into a very small lobby area on an evening when the outside temperature was in the single digits. Wait staff actually did a good job considering that the restaurant as obviously overbooked.
Great server. After reading some of the reviews was worried about the food quality. Salad was really good and so was food...pleasant experience. I would go back - sometimes its hard to get everyone to agree on meals - but if you can manage that - it will be good.
Feeds 3 people should read "feeds 3 grandparents." You pay a heavy premium for family style and get typical size portions to split amongst everyone. Either plan to shell out 50+ bucks per person or leave hungry. Also, make sure your server is handy with the water, because they dump the salt on like DOT does on the roads.
Dined here on a very busy Saturday night close to Christmas. The restaurant was very crowded and they seemed to be short on help as we waited quite a bit for our food. Extremely loud and a large party of 16 people seated near us were intoxicated and noisy. Even though they were busy, one thing that was solid was the food as it was good but could not really make up for other negatives. Definitely will be back but will avoid high traffic nights. The problem here is the low ceilings which contribute to noisy conditions.
Tonight, we had made reservations at this location at 6:30pm. Our event next door was at 7:30pm. We showed up just after 6pm, checked in and did not end up getting sat until 6:45. (The first problem)
When we were finally sat at the table, they were clearing it off, as the host was taking us to the table. Meaning, we were sat at a table that still had old dishes on it, and crumbs all over the seats. (The second problem) After I finished cleaning and wiping down the seats and table, a waiter (Zachery) appeared and took our drink order.
This is where things got really crazy. He came back with our drinks, sat them on the table, and then proceeded in knocking over my glass of tea, which completely soaked the table and ended up being dumped in my 11 year old daughter's lap. Her entire outfit was completely soaked... there was not a dry bone on her body. Her pants, leggings, winter coat (I could wring it out) her shirt, her sweatshirt and her hat, etc. I jumped up from the table and started trying to clean her off and get the ice off of her... all while "Zachery" stood there and watched. I finally looked at him and asked him to go get some napkins and he took off. When he came back, he was standing there just holding the napkins. I took the napkins from his hand and started cleaning everything off. Never once did he offer to help. After we got my daughter somewhat taken care of, (she was so upset she was soaked that she started crying).. I hung her sweatshirt over the seat with her coat hoping they would dry out by the time we went to leave. The waiter once or twice apologized, disappeared and then reappeared with new drinks that were entirely incorrect.
All in all, I am furious over this experience and will not be looking towards coming back to book anytime soon. The service was horrible, and you guys have lost any concern or compassion for your customers.
Restaurant was very noisy. Expensive for the portions we received. The biggest issue was we had a member of our party that was handicapped, must use a cane, and they seated us at the furthest table/room from the door even after our request for a table closer to entrance. Staff was not very attentive to the needs of someone on a cane.
Host ignored me and set two men after me. Pretty good experience beside parking. No parking and I felt uncomfortable walking to and from restaurant alone at night. I wasn't aware there was no parking before I booked the reservation. Parking and host I probably will not be back.
