There was a large convention of women in town and they were crushing the restaurants in the area. (I know this because I was an attendee.) Our server (Allison) never showed any stress, was super sweet, checked on us frequently, and was just basically on her game! And the food & drinks were amazing as always! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!
I visit this location every year for over 20 years when I attend the industry trade show. I take customers out on business. This will be the last. I can tell I am not the only one thinking this way. Years back you could not get a reservation unless you booked well in advance. Now, not really that busy.
John, we are sorry to hear you did not fully enjoy your recent visit. We appreciate that you have taken the time to write to us, as it will only help us improve ourselves and target our subject areas. Thank you for giving us the chance to make it right for future visits.
Poor quality food and poor service.
We are sorry to hear you had an unsatisfactory experience. We appreciate that you have taken the time to write to us, as there is always room for improvement!
Great spot to eat before red White boom. But food just average for price.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We look forward to serving you again soon!
Buca is what it is- casual, bustling, lively and decent Italian. This time we were pretty disappointed all around- rushed, impatient service and less than mediocre food. Didn’t feel very clean either. Meatball was the highlight, chicken parmigiana and garlic cheese bread (that was “offered” in a very sneaky manner and cost a whopping $12) were terrible!
Overall it was ok. They need to go back to how they used to make their garlic bread. What they currently serve a garlic bread is actually quite pathetic. Meals were ok. Some pasta and chicken and then a shrimp and pasta dishes. Just very bland and the chicken they use is horrible in my opinion.
So sad to see food quality like it is because this used to be an awesome place to eat.
Nice restaurant but a little difficult to locate. It’s in the arena district facing the arena. You have to go down stairs to get in. Family style dining and you would need to understand you share your dish in order to maintain a budget.
It’s able to accommodate large groups without calling to make reservation. Enjoyed the food.
Really good at handling groups! Went here with my rugby team. Everything went smoothly! Thank you!
Apple Gorgonzola salad is life changing! I don’t know how they make their vinaigrette, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever eaten!
We tried the Penne San Remo, which advertised it came with peas, however ours only came with sun dried tomatoes and minimal artichokes, so slightly disappointing there.
Then, for my birthday I received a free brownie sundae, which was MAY more than 2 can eat! But SO delicious!
We had a large group of 15 and the staff was friendly, our waiter was friendly and offered prompt service. All of our food choices were excellent as well!
Bachelorette dinner and it was great!
Overall we had a great time celebrating my daughters 13th birthday. The only problem was that we ordered the Apple Gorgonzola salad but they were out of Gorgonzola cheese. Not sure how that can happen for one if your signature salads!!!!
We celebrated Mother’s Day. The staff was nice and friendly. Food was served fast. Outside of a couple of forgotten dishes everything went smooth.
Great Mother’s Day meal
Food was good. Seated quickly. Food camebout fast. The server was a bit scattered but wasn’t bad.
$250 for a table of 5. Food was great. Service could have been better. Server more concerned about his image than serving. Needed to remove sunglasses from his brow. Too dark in there for sunglasses.
As always the food was great!! Our server was wonderful and was a very busy guy!!
Great dinner!! Food was excellent, setting was perfect, server was good!!!! I was a bit disappointed that nothing was done for my daughters bday! When making the reservation I added a note that it was her bday, checked the box for special occasion and even told the hostess that sat us that it was her birthday! Maybe we had to place an order for the special bday dessert to have something? I was just hoping for the candelabra and embarrassing song being sung to her!!! 😊. Overall though a great dining experience!!
They didn’t pay attention to my notes on open table to request Pope table. Called 2 days later to make sure. They said it was fine. When I arrived they had just seated someone else there and we had to go to open seating beside a really loud party. Server Mario was amazing! Manager was nice but hostesses were flippant and rude.
Pasta was uninspired, bruschetta was cardboard tomatoes. Completely bland food with no taste but a lot of it!
Fantastic place for groups. The food was wonderful.
The service was quick and great and the food was amazing. Big portions but great for big parties and big families!
The food was great for our large family (8 people). The per person price ended up being very reasonable. We ordered a salad and two large meals and it was plenty of food, plus the endless supply of bread. Our waiter, Ethan, was also amazing. Funny, quick to get what we needed, and created an overall better experience for our group. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to large families.
Good experience. Celebrating a birthday and seeing a Blue Jackets game. It was very crowded but food was good and service was too!
The food is on par with the Olive Garden, just more expensive and portions that you need to share.
This was a disappointing visit 5 people were seated at a table for 4 when it was brought to the hostess attention she did nothing to correct it. When each part of our meal was brought they would leave the food at the table with no plates everytime. The alfredo noodles with shrimp lacked enough sauce dry, and lacked any seasoning and very small number of shrimp. We ordered large pizza and was brought a small one.
Service was slow it appeared they were not ready for the holiday weekend.
The food and service was excellent. Our waitress, “Lala” was fantastic.
Our family has always enjoyed dining at Buca over the years. However, the last few years it seems as though the prices increase, but the food quality declines. Hopeful this will improve in the future.
Went with a group of 12 had a great time very attentive service.
Service was good and good was decent but the portions are way too big, even when sharing amongst multiple people. Also, not enough sauce and too much pasta. Had to ask for more sauce for most of the dishes served to us.
Went I Buca prior to a Blue Jackets playoff game and it was the perfect place!!!
My waitress was AMAZING. Food was meh.
Why would you serve Bruschetta in the large sundae dish which is awkward to get out and then serve the giant sundae in a regular bowl?
The bruschetta had giant pieces of red onion in it...gross.
The meatballs were burnt, the marinara should be called pomadora sauce. The spaghetti was watery at the bottom. The lemon chicken was white, no coloring or caramelization on it at all. Very tasteless and bland and had a funny film on it, possibly from the flour?
The table we were sat at in the cardinal room (which had 2 other booths) was against a wall where the refrigeration unit shook the entire wall the whole time.
Very disappointed in where Buca started and where it’s come. It’s not the same and I’ll probably never go back.
Great service and food. Glad we had s reservation It was a long line waiting to get in before a concert
Food cold, had to ask to have the wine cork removed, had to ask for more water. Our group of 3 moms and 3 kids spent over $200 for a below average food and experience.
Awesome dinner before the concert at Nationwide Arena.
Over all I enjoyed the restaurant but I felt that 21.00 for a side dish of plain pasta was ridiculous.
It was a warming place to hang out and a nice italian family style dinner. Love the atmosphere in the arena district of columbus, ohio
The restaurant was extremely busy as we were dining before a concert next door. The waitress was attentive despite the restaurant being full at the time we were dining. Our waitress was outstanding! The food was great, as always.
They were out of pizza dough, it took a while to get our food and the table next to us were loud and obnoxious
While it isn't the best Italian in Columbus, or the most unique experience, the location is perfect for a large group attending an event in the Arena District (and on short notice).
