We have gone to Buca for many years just for dinner and also to celebrate family events. This time there were just 4 of us and we ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. It had no flavor at all. The alfredo was bland and the chicken tasted like it had been boiled ( which was not a good thing). We will more than likely go back due to the location near the venue but that dish is definitely not one we would order again. The drinks were very good though. Our waitress had trouble remembering us and our food order was very slow to come. But we were not in a big hurry so that was not too big of a deal.

The ambiance and music felt very inviting. Our party dined at 2:30 p.m. and the restaurant was not busy at all. Yet while the service from our hostess was very good, the wait for our meal was exceedingly long. We found out that there was a staff meeting taking place during our visit which may explain the wait. As always the food taste very good. However, the portion size of the protein was noticeably smaller than what Buca di Beppo is known for. You still get plenty of whatever pasta dish you order. But the smallness of our chicken limone dish was quite shocking. The added cost of the breads/drinks made the final tally feel very overpriced. I have dined here several times. Sad to say, this was the first time I was a bit disappointed. I will return in hopes of getting the service and better assumed value I have come to expect from this fine restaurant.

Ended up walking out after an hour and 20 minutes . Took 30 minutes to be sat (after our reservation time) and only received waters after we were sat for 45 minutes. They were severely under staffed, so no offence to any of the employees who were there doing their best.

When we arrived, the lobby was packed full of people waiting to be seated. When I went back to the bathroom, I could see that the place was only 25% full, and lots of wait staff just standing around waiting for things to do. The amazing lady in the front was doing her best to handle to go, keep the wait list, and keep people calm. The manager in the front was just standing around an empty bar. She tried several time to go talk to him but he just had an apathetic look on his face and brushed her off. She apologized over and over. The manager finally agreed to let our group sit, but put us at a booth for 6 when we had 7 grown men in our group. Hostess quickly apologized and said she was going to get us an actual table. The rest of the service and meal went fine, with the wait staff tripping over themselves apologizing. I am in the service business, and it was easy to spot that the problem was the manager. I felt so bad for the staff. At the end of the meal the manager did what I called "The apology tour" where he went table to table with a story about how he was relocated here from FL and things were just not going well and please leave a 5 star review. I am quick to leave a great review when its earned, and maybe just say nothing if its not, but the ownership of this place needs to know that they have a manager who is not supporting his staff properly, and if its not addressed soon they will likely lose good people. I wish I could honestly leave a 5 star, but that would be fiction. The staff here is great, the food is good, the price is right. Please consider some training/coaching for the new manager, and dont let this review keep you from giving this place a shot.

Buca di Beppo in Columbus, Ohio is an outstanding Italian restaurant. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere is lively and inviting. The server, T.T., is excellent.

I don’t know what happened to the plate sizes. I ordered the calamari and it came in a tiny skillet pan. You usually get three skillet pan s in the trio. But that’s what I got for a full calamari order. The waiter just brushed it off. Not going back.

They were awesome. I didn’t have as large as a party show that I wanted, however that didn’t matter. Every part of the staff was amazing. The food was great as always!!
