the food is wonderful people are great!! we cant get enough of this place wished it was in our neighborhood would be there every week!!
Even with reservations had to wait over a half hour then to be put next to a large (16) group who thought they owned the room, would have gone somewhere else if I had known.
We were seated next to 2 huge groups of out of control kids. It was so loud that my throat hurt from screaming at the people at my table. Our server was so so and we waited forever for water refills. All in all the food is good but not good enough to make up for the rest.
I love this place! Great food and great service as always!!!
The food and ambience are always especially pleasing when going to Buca (we have been to 3 different locations). The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The only drawback was that the room in which we were sitting was set up near the end of our meal for a larger group with small children, which was detrimental for our dining and conversation...both the children and adults in the party were overly loud. We were sitting in a corner and don't know if the sound just traveled and settled in our corner of the room, but it did prompt us to want to finish our meal and leave.
Buca works if you have a number of people in your party who can share...Too expensive when doing separate ordering, especially if one or more guests have special diets...(ie. vegan, gluten free)...
Buca is a great restaurant for large or small groups. We were a party of 3 celebrating my birthday and there were several other birthday parties there. Some were as small as ours and others were parties of 10 or more. Our waiter, Vinny, was very attentive and helpful. The manager stopped by our table to check on our experience which was nice. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I especially like the family style since its meant for sharing and trying more than just one dish. Buca is far from our home so it's a special treat to have dinner there but it's well worth the drive.
We had reservations and arrived on time, and were seated. We waited 15 minutes for service and received none, so we got up and left. Our first time and our last !
To be fair - food was not bad. Yet it also was terribly overpriced and didnt have that something special to justify such prices. Sure portions were large, but I would rather have smaller portions of better food. I suppose for a large group that all like the same thing, so they can get less dishes and share - it could work. But for people that like different things - this is not the best place to go. Also, atmosphere is loud - there were at least 5 b-days while we were there and loud singing of the servers gets annoying after a while. Lots of strange photos on the walls. Some are of half naked italian movie stars.
Came in with my best friend to celebrate here birthday. Great time, though a bit pricey.
We went for a work lunch and it was wonderful! Everything from our server to the food to the tour.
We went to Buca di Beppo and the food and service were very good and surprisingly very prompt. Everything was good except on minor mixup. Once our bills came and (we had two couples thus two checks) we each inserted or bank cards in the proper envelopes. However once returned the cards had been swapped and we ended up paying our friends bill and our friends paying ours. Wasn't really a big deal as the price were fairly similar just disappointing they could mix something like this up. What if instead of doing this with the checks at our table they had done it with another group and returned our card to a stranger? As a said good food, good service, just need to double check how they're handling customers money/bank cards.
Looking for a "Family Style" restaurant with classic Italian favorites, then this is the spot. Nothing fancy or assuming, just very good food designed to fill your appetite with excellent customer service. Everyone claims to have good service but Buca di Beppo delivers from reception personnel that greet you to cooks, servers and management. You will never leave disappointed and good value for the $ too!
Had a great time. We sat in the kitchen at the chef table and it was a lot of fun for the kids.
If you are a first timer, be sure to say you do NOT want to sit in the bar area, unless you like LOUD surroundings. Food is good, but ambience bad.
This was our first visit so we didn't know what to expect. The wait staff was very helpful while we were ordering and throughout the meal. The food was wonderful and the service was top notch. I will recommend this restaurant to friends and family!
Dinner with two families (4 kids total.) Well done!
Food same as it always is, service a bit disappointing, appeared under staffed.
This is great, family style dining. It's great quality for the price and they often offer specials for groups or coupons, etc. Join their club for discounts, free appetizers, desserts, birthday treats, etc.
Don't forget about the kitchen and Pope tables for big groups and special occasions! Fun!!!
When dining at Buca, expect to take some food home. Even if you order the shareable serving, you will still end up with a lot of food - unless you are super starving. Good "italian" food. Fresh ingredients and you will enjoy dining in because servers don't bother you much.
Dinner was delicious! Every bite had the right amount of spice and flavor. Each dish brought new excitement to the table.
Hubby and I went for lunch for our 19 year anniversary and was not offered a lunch menu, only the "family style" dinning. Well, we don't usually like the same thing, so that was disappointing. It was our 1st visit. I learned later, after over hearing a lady ask for the lunch menu, that we could of ordered from it. We would of enjoyed it a lot more if that had been the case.
Our waitress was outstanding however. Very bubbly and friendly. She left me use both our online coupons since it was our anniversary and our 1st time there. We came from Dayton.
The waiter appeared to be going through the motions and was hard to find when we needed something. My cocktail order was served wrong twice after pointing out the error the first time. I love lasagna and it had no flavor. I can get better lasagna at a local well known pizza restaurant. My wife's pasta entrée was just OK. The deal where they walk you through the kitchen when they are seating you is silly. Our experience tells me why they have to advertise and offer coupon deals so much.
My birthday dinner was wonderful. All the employee were very nice. Ashely was our waitress , she was super duper!!

My husband and I wanted to eat something other than steak, sooo off we rode to Buca! we had lasagna, ceasear salad (missing cheese). everything was good, large portion, fresh and hot, plenty of sauce! had leftovers and ate the next day. we will return
We chose this restaurant because my aunt and her family, including two children, were in town. The food was good and they accomodated the children well. We had plenty of leftovers. The waiter was a little intrusive as we tried to enjoy a meal together with each other.
I ordered the chicken parmesan and this was the first time EVER I have had it and it did not come with spaghetti. I thought that was very odd. That is my favorite pasta dish and because of that I probably will not return.
My daughter, who tends to be shy, did not want people to sing to her.
Our server honored her request but the other servers still wrote her card and acknowledged her birthday-which was very appreciated!
I came with my boyfriend and another couple this weekend and we had a fantastic time! There was a little misunderstanding with some coupons but the manager was very understanding and very reasonable! She was so nice and did whatever she could to help. The food was, and always is, awesome!! Thank you all so much!
I'm a bartender and I've worked in the restaurant business for over 11years. The two girls that served us at The Pope's table did a great job! The only thing I would say that was unpleasant about our visit was in the bar area...it took at least 3 mins before he realized we were sitting at the bar and another 15 mins for us to get 2 beers & 2 martini's...in my opinion that's pretty slow! Also in the bar was very hot we were sitting there sweating.. Other than that we had a great time & will be back
Went there with my grilfriend and our 3 kids. Had a great meal and our server Piage was very attentive to anything we needed. Will go back again.
Food was good but the wait staff seemed short handed. We waited at least 15-20 minutes for our waitress, after initial drink order, to come back and ask what we wanted to order. She filled my husbands drink once, never did fill mine. When the food came no one asked if we wanted Parmesan cheese. It seemed she was very busy in at least two different areas and could not get to everyone adequately.
Been coming to bucca for a few years now. Been there for dinner with the wife, big family dinners, and a birthday. Not once have I been let down by bucca. Great food. Great service. Have 0 complaints. Portions are HUGE. If you have never been, a small order definitely feeds minimum of 2 if not 3-4.
We enjoyed the kitchen tour even though we sped through it all very quickly, would have been nice to go a little slower, seemed as if we were running a marathon to get seated!!
Buca is one of my favorite places to eat in Cincinnati. Their portions are more than generous and we always have leftovers for the next day's lunch. The service is great and the atmosphere is, shall I say, different. I believe Buca's policy is "If there is a square foot of wall space available, hang a picture!" This is a great place for large groups. If you like Italian, you'll LOVE Buca!!
While we were seated promptly, after that we felt somewhat ignored during our visit, Slow to get drinks, slow to get our order taken and slow to get our bill. If this were our first visit, we would probably not come back.
This was my second time dining at a Buca location. They never disappoint. The cheese manicotti is one of the most delicious dishes on their menu. I highly recommend it. I am also a member of their eClub and I get fantastic coupons sent to me in my email. My boyfriend and I were able to use a $20 off coupon this time around to celebrate Buca's 20 year anniversary. A little expensive, but worth every penny!
I made a reservation for 10 through the open table app. And that worked out really great. When I showed up this evening was a little tight, So I told the manager and the manager quickly took us to a bigger roomier area. The reservation was for 10, but it turn out we had close to 15 to 20 And they quickly adjusted to the number of people that kept showing up. The waiter was great, the service was good, and he put up with all of us because we were a little noisy. I would definitely go back for dinner or to have any kind of party.
We had a wonderful Father's Day dinner that included me, my husband, our two daughters. His favorite dish is spaghetti/meatballs and it was wonderful. The coupons for the day encouraged our dinner choice for Buca di Beppo - free garlic bread and 'holy' cannoli along with the $10 off. We did not expect the big carafe of Buca Chianti since $33 was more than we like to pay. (We thought we ordered a smaller bottle.) But the wine was very good and the carafe will forever be a keepsake. Also share: Jun'06, we had a group at big round table after our daughter's hs graduation. My Italian mom age 88 loved every minute. We took her photo wearing the Pope hat in 'Papa' chair. My mom died suddenly late Jul'06 and we displayed her photo at funeral home.
It was very busy and service was slow and inconsistent, for example we received our bread without olive oil/butter and had to ask for it along with appetizer plates. The service was rushed and a bit thoughtless.
