Buca di Beppo - Chandler Ratings and Reviews
Our family came for Christmas and recent 75th birthday celebration and had great experiences. The food is wonderful-our family loves the salmon. We ordered the small the first time then large order the 2nd time and family still wanted more! The pasta dishes are all good and te green beans are a favorite. Besides great food, we have had wonderful service!
I habe always loved eating here. The food tastes great and the atmosphere is beautiful. My brother and I both has our rehearsal dinners here. The last time I went the service was very slow and we felt likened were forgotten about when a larger party came in. When we asked for something it took forever to get it. I even ordered a dessert to go and she forgot to ring it in. We sat there and kept waiting till I had to find someone else to ask for it. Very bad experience for taking a new customer
Greeted by friendly, smiling hostess and seated right away. Since it was our first visit a tour of kitchen was offered and accepted. We didn't know the menu was all family style portion either for two or four. We ordered two starters for our party of four. Caprese salad and Calarmari. For main courses we ordered Veal Marsala and two pastas Spaghetti with meatball and Quatro el Forno. All food and service was good not great. Would go again but I think you need a large group to really enjoy and take advantage of the portions and menu selection.
The one and only complaint that I have was the server attitude. She initially walked up to us, took our drink order, then asked if we were ready to order. No greeting. She returned with our drinks, and that was the last time we saw her until she placed the bill on the table and walked off. Never said a word, no thank you, Happy New Years, nothing. Additionally, she never asked if we wanted dessert or any additional drinks. It was as though she was bothered by us being there and wanted us to leave as soon as possible. Never had an experience like this at this restaurant before.
My wife called and left a message for the manager, but as of this time, no callback has been recieved.
We arrived 5 minutes before reservation, not crowded at all but hostess could not be interrupted from counting her gift cards. Had to ask 3 times to be seated. Was seated at table with worn out /frayed oil tablecloth. It looked horrible. Waitress was perky but forgot to bring salad with meal. Food was totally mediocre. Could not believe the price for what it was. Won't likely be back. Too bad, a nice geographical location.
There are not many places open for Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day. Food was great. The reservation procedure broke down and the reception area spilled outdoors with some irate people trying to get seated. I would like to complement the young woman at the reservations desk. She kept her cool, was very patient and eventually got everyone seated. She should be given a raise and a promotion for how she handled what could have been a bad situation.
Buca had become somewhat of a tradition for our family for Thanksgiving when we lived in Texas. Not a place that many people would think of for holiday dinners, but we thought it was fun and different and enjoyed the atmosphere. Now that we've retired to Chandler, we decided to try it for Christmas dinner this year. After about a 20-minute wait despite our 3 pm reservation, we were seated in a booth that was too small for the 6 of us, but we squeezed in and tried to make the best of it. Unfortunately, our booth was located adjacent to the exit door to the patio. It was a chilly day, but they were seating people on the patio under heaters. Every time a server would go in and out, which was pretty much non-stop, a blast of cold air would come in and chill those of us seated on the outer edge of the booth. Our server greeted us promptly but wasn't friendly - no Merry Christmas greeting, no friendly greeting at all really, and afterwards the service wasn't very good. The food was good but the main courses came out just a few minutes after we got our salad - too fast and too rushed. We are thinking our Buca tradition has come to an end after our experience at the Chandler location. It wasn't a terrible experience but could have and should have been much better for such a special occasion.
The Chicken and sausage was non existant in the ziti and no shrimp in the other dish. Chicken in the alfredo was pretty scarce . It was our Christmas dinner for the family, it was disappointing.
There was 14 of us.
The waitress Olivia was outstanding and made the day outstanding. She met all our needs before we had a chance to ask.
We had pre-ordered our food items. It took an exceptionally long time to get the cheesy bread & salad, then it took an exceptionally long time to get the main entrees and pasta dishes. We had the veal Marsela and it was the worst I've ever had, meet was tough and the sauce was plain. I think the food is overpriced. I gave the waiter a $20 off coupon and mentioned it to him, but after I got home I noticed that he had not credited that off my bill. When you pay over $300 for a meal you expect smooth service, good food and accuracy on the bill. We did not get this. Thank you for listening.
Our Thanksgiving dinner was cancelled at the last minute on Weds. so we had to find somewhere to eat. I went to Open Table and found Buca had 4 pm openings on Tday. We arrived on time but were seated 10 mins late and service was slow. This can all be explained by how packed and busy they were. Surprised me since Buca would not be on my list of places to go on Thanksgiving. I must say the food quality, temperature, and value for the price were all exceptional. My son and daughter thought it was the best quality of Thanksgiving food that they could remember. I think my cooking is better but not by much! I think my Thanksgiving family dinner will be at Buca from here on out.
Years ago, my company transferred me out to Las Vegas and while driving around town getting to know the lay of the land, I stumbled upon Buca's Restaurant. I knew it well for the great Italian food I enjoyed at my home in Phoenix. When I first realized this place was down the street from my office, I took several employees out for lunch there. When we arrived, we were told they were not opened for lunch, only dinner. When I explained I was from Phoenix and raved to my co-workers about the food, they insisted we sit and they served us off the dinner menu. The manager asked a few questions and said they were thinking of opening up for lunch but wasn't sure how business would be...a couple of months later, they did open for business. My office made it a weekly habit & a few brought their families in for dinner!
While working in Las Vegas, I had some friends come in from California, a very good Italian cook in
her family I've known for 30+ years going back to the east coast. I suggested something different, other than the usual restaurant on the 'strip' and took them to Buca's! They loved it and was so impressed they made it one of their regular stops when they came into town.
The food was very good, the dessert was "to kill for"..and I did! But, the evening was mostly set by the absolutely amazing attention given by the server. She was delightful, helpful and we even decided to book our Thanksgiving dinner reservation with her. Great experience.
The food is consistently good. The service is good though on this occasion our waiter was busy with a large group and was not able to return with plates when our entrees came. With only my husband and we we find it e pensive. Always extra food to take home but $100 for two is fine dining prices for home style food. Better for families and groups the couples.
I think that the only thing I would change is the temperature of the food. I like my food that is served to be hot and ours was warm. We had great service though. We went at an earlier time so that we would not bother others with our 20 month old and 4 week old. Everyone was very accommodating.
This was my(our) first visit to Buca and enjoyed it very much. Food was very good and the server (Rich) was great and very helpful. Great place for families and groups. Menu has a variety of excellent dishes to choose from. I personally loved the spaghetti w/meatballs (huge).
We came here recently to celebrate a "going away" for our oldest son going to college. The food was great and the service was outstanding! I wish I could remember her name. We sat in a round table meant for larger groups and it was nice. I highly recommend this restaurant! We will be back!
The Chandler location is frequently not busy during the lunch hours. We have been to this location for lunch a number of times and are always promptly greeted and seated. If you haven't already joined the Buca email club, you are missng out on some good deals that are perfect for two to four diners.
Always love Buca! Great food, great service, kids friendly. We go at least every other month and on birthdays. The waitress we had this time was not attentive. She served us bread with no plates or oliver oil and vinegar. We had to use the same dirty plates for our pasta. Our pasta were dry and stick together which is a sign of sitting in the kitchen for awhile. The new vegetable pasta was dry and not tasty except lots of fresh veggies. Worse experience we ever had.
Buca is a wonderful place to take a friend for her birthday. We avoided the dinner crowd by reserving a table for two at 830 via OpenTable. The app was quick, convenient and easy. I was even able to modify the time with no hassle. We arrived on time to be greeted by the hostess and our waiter, Caleb. The place was quiet with soft music in the background. Caleb was a very good waiter. The caesar salad was good followed by the spaghetti and meatballs which were good also. All the food is served family style. The Mediterranean Breeze was refreshing. The 9 Oz glass of Torrasella was a delightful pairing with the entrée, having a hint of black cherry, spice and faint smokiness. The Limoncello was a perfect dessert ending as we were very full.
