Bua Thai Ramen & Robata Grill
Friday date night... food and drinks were sooooo delicious. My only concern would be how they exceeded the 25% capacity for indoor dining. Every table was seated, restaurant was crowded, no social distancing at all. My anxiety level was at 100! I’ll come back for the food and drinks but def earlier in the day on a weekday in hopes it would not be so crowded.
The drinks were decent no complaints on that. However my appetizer the grilled chicken wings-lacked flavor. My main course was The pineapple fried rice with giant shrimp( two shrimps with the head on) I thought I should’ve gotten more for the price. The main course itself was OK . my boyfriend did not enjoy his main course bua thai noodle soup.
It was great last minute valentines date service was amazing drinks was amazing everything about this place was great
I was so disappointed in my experience. It looks so good online. Me and my partner went for Valentine’s Day and we were the first people in our area seated. We watched our section fill up and everyone around us receive their entrees while we had not gotten ours, our waitress never came to check on us, and when we finally got our food it was cold! Imagine paying $80 for appetizers, cold fish and cold duck :(
Great service, comfortable seating, COVID-19 safety procedures are in place, vast menu, me and my wife had 6 appetizers, main courses and 4 desserts, all were delicious and full of flavor, beautifully presented, service was courteous and very fast!
I recommend this restaurant, and will come again!
Myself and my Youngest Daughter Bri who’s home from Cornell to go out and have some really good ramen & Thai close to home .
And we found Bua Thai on open table. Amazing just amazing the ramen was sooooooooo good. But the steamed dumplings were just completely out of control. Delicious. And the lobster buns with a slice of avocado and spicy Thai Mayo was like eating lobster in a pillow. We just found a new Thai restaurant for sure
Got the spicy miso soup and the phucket noodles, both very good! Big portions as well and good prices. Will be back. Also got a free dessert! Diesél out.
Mixed results at Bua Thai. For apps, we shared the grilled corn (very good) and the miso eggplant (under-cooked). I had a pork, crab meat spinach noodle dish ... interesting but not even close to amazing. My girlfriend had the crispy duck which was mostly fat and really not edible. We tried something new but will retreat to our tried and true favorites, and not return here.
Celebrating my sister’s birthday
Amazing food and ambiance. Got free dessert with yelp check-in
They did not accept an open table voucher
My husband and I dined at your restaurant on Saturday, January 18, 2020. We started with an order of dumplings and an order of tuna tartar. We ate the dumpling first, and when we started on the tuna tartar, we found a clump of hair in the food. We were sitting in clear view of the kitchen, and I could see the people handling the food: hair down, wearing a fedora hat, and no hair nets, which is likely why this happened. We notified our waiter of our food finding. My husband and I both lost our appetite and asked for the check, which were told would not include the tartar. Upon receiving the check for the dumplings ($10), I pulled out my credit card and was then told I had to pay cash since there was a $15 card minimum. As you can imagine, I was not happy about this, seeing as we were only spending so little due to the hair mishap. Neither my husband or I had any cash. After some conversations, we were finally told we could pay our $10 bill with our card.
Not only was I very unhappy with finding a clump of hair in my food, and the cash only under $15 situation, I was also quite bothered that our bill, being a mere $10, was not complimentary given the situation.
My husband and I, along with others we speak to, will not be dining at this restaurant again.
Service was excellent, prices were very fair. The starters were amazing especially the soup. The main courses cannot be faulted but they did not have any wow or amazing factor, they were high quality and tasty. Seating was good, ambiance was missing, background music was fine but not in keeping with ambiance. I would absolutely recommend to a friend for a 4 star experience.
Heerlijk gegeten!!! We waren met een groep van 10 en iedereen heeft genoten
Terrible service. Waitress was rushing us from the moment we arrived.
Friendly staff, great prices. I would go there again.
Thai & Vietnamese food is great here. Also the crispy spicy tuna appetizer was delicious.
Food was great but service not so much. The Table runner who brought out my sons food had a very thick accent and became nasty and rude when my son politely asked him to repeat himself since he couldn’t understand him. I ordered a Ramen bowl with gluten-free rice noodles due to a gluten sensitivity which I made the waitress aware of. In spite of making her aware, the Ramen bowl came out with two very large non-gluten-free crispy noodles placed into the bowl of Ramen. Luckily I am only gluten sensitive and not allergic to gluten or else the bowl which took forever to come out (literally 10-15 minutes after my son’s food came out) would have had to have gone back. Also, when I asked our waitress for extra napkins as I had sticky sauce all over my fingers, she literally took like 10 minutes to come back out with the napkins that I obviously needed immediately or within a reasonable amount of time. With a number of options in the city for this type of cuisine, I doubt we will be back.
Very difficult to get wait-staff attention. Took over half an hour to get the check and pay. Food was really great and delivered quickly, but the service was a let down.
Over cooked bland food. The crispy chicken was too dry although the Papaya salad was good. Save your money !
Not exactly a Thai restaurant although they have Thai food, and Japanese, and Vietnamese, and Sushi. Basically pan-Asian. Good at a wide variety of things, but great at nothing.
Food was good but the service was awful. Took over 10 minutes for our server to come over and then we never saw her again for the rest of the night (until we flagged her down to ask for the check.) Again, the food was tasty but will only get delivery from now on since the service was horrendous and not worth it.
Great food for palatable price. Service not great due to language barrier with certain servers.
Good was great but very cold inside
The food was great, lots of options.
Phenomenal service. Great ambience. Delightful unique flavors from the dumplings to spicy ramen noodles and delectable Thai Staples. Also most of the dishes can be done vegan which is a huge plus! Now a regular.
The food here is delicious, although they will not do substitutions in dishes they do accommodate food allergies and will omit certain foods from a dish. If you like spicy food I would suggest the green curry it is outstanding and very tasty.
The service is good, the waiters are very nice and after ordering your food it is served promptly. There is time to consume appetizers then your main meal will arrive nice and hot.
Best Thai dood we have found so far in the Upper East Side area thus far. Every food dish was GREAT! Service though a bit spotty from the moment we walked in. Would have give. Higher ratings if better quality service. However, all staff were very nice otherwise.
Great food. Would definitely go back again also going to order in.
Great! Very crowded even with reservations had to wait for inside table. Plenty of seating on the sidewalk though. Would definitely go back.
I saw an e-mail from OpenTable on June 13 called #EatThaiVisitRestaurantWeek. It shows a list of Thai restaurants. On that includes Bua Thai Ramen. I went to that restaurant and it shows "Top Special: $14" for dinner. The same day, I made a reservation for dinner on Saturday, June 22. When my wife and I went there, the servicer did not know about that. After that, she came back and that we could have a roasted chicken in Thai Ramen Noodle Soup for $14. We had that. It was nothing special. We had the shrimp on skewers. That was good. The noise was very loud.
Incredible food, fast service! Have been back twice since my initial visit 2 weeks ago. Loved every moment of it!
Really good and tasty food but service can get really busy and take a while. Overall will come again as rather authentic Thai food.
The food was tasty. They made a special noodle dish for my children which was delicious. The calamari was not good. Very dry. Other than that, it was delicious.
Food good. Some dishes very good. Prices especially for drinks a bit pricey.
Extensive variety of menu options. Good service. Would visit again.
The food was delicious.. must visit this cute place.
Very tasty choices on the menu. Fun spot--great appetizers and ramen, noodles, spiced rice dishes. Nice inside.
When we looked on line we saw they had sushi, but it wasn't on the menu in the restaurant. We asked if they had it and they said they did but they did not have menus so we had to look online at the menu. Very strange. Sushi was barely eatable.
Food was excellent -clay pot fried rice was tasty and very filling. Steamed veggie dumplings were also very good.
Awesome. Get the Chiang Mai noodles (khao soi) or soup noodles
