When we walked up it seemed like we were bothering the hostess. Did not even walk us to table just pointed to it. They were out of at least 2 of the menus drinks. There were multiple mistakes with orders. Our server did correct the issues but it took awhile. The food was ok but I was expecting better portions and flavor. All the fish was over cooked.

Excellent seafood! Conch salad is the best bar none, stone crab claws fantastic, fried shrimp and mahi chunks were excellent, too. The casual keys atmosphere and fresh fish make Brutus a must visit.

We had a decent meal, the food was cooked properly, but we did expect the portions to be a little bigger. My wife and I split an entree having asked the server if the meal was large enough for us to share. Was less than what we expected for the price. Also did not notify us that one of the items we were supposed to receive on our entree was out, which had we known beforehand, we would not have ordered that entree

Nos trajeron la cuenta y no habíamos terminado de comer y queríamos postre porque estábamos celebrando cumpleaños pero ellos no hacen nada especial y la comida no era la gran cosa. Hay mejores lugares para comer pescado y mariscos frescos. Por otro lado se equivocaban en el pedido que se hacía y había que pedir que retiraran los platos con sobras y no estaba el lugar muy acogedor

We were a party of 6. We sat down and ordered drinks. It took 20 mins to get drinks and the bartender did not know how to make a Cosmopolitian so our waitress had to make them and they were awful. We got our check and never ate there.

Well we have been to many restaurants here. This one is super casual but the food was just excellent and half the price from expensive places down the street. We all order lobster , fish sandwiches and the shrimp peal and eat was delicious We we're able to feed family of 4 adults for 100 The roster and chickens walking around have it that cool vibe

I had trouble rating our experience because overall there were some good things and bad things. So a focused on the positive in selecting a rating of 4. The service was slow, especially for a mid afternoon lunch. Had to wait a long time to get my beer. But there was only one person taking and running orders so I can’t really fault her. The ambience was ok. A typical Florida Keys outdoor tiki hut type of place. However, the food was outstanding. I had the crab cake appetizer and tuna tacos. Those were the best tacos I have ever had! Partner had the mahi sandwich and enjoyed it. After eating we went into the market and purchased some fresh fish. The service was great and fish was wonderful. I would go back to this establishment but lower my expectations about dining service.

Waited a while for a waiter. He has quite good once we were waited on. The calami was inedible. The shrimp was ver fresh but so hot when it came out it burned our mouths. My crab cakes were not good at all.

Brutus Seafood was a nice outing for us. The menu is not very ambitious…standard casual Florida fare. I ordered the Brutus sandwich which isn’t special but it was VERY delicious. The mahi was blackened lightly and the bun was perfectly toasted, adding to the flavor combo. My husband had the seafood Alfredo containing shrimp, scallops, calamari & blackened mahi. It was also very delicious with the exception of the calamari which should have been omitted. It was rubbery and flavorless. We’d return.

We went here for dinner while on our honeymoon and wish we had skipped this place. While we liked the vibe and had high hopes about the dinner specials, they were out of most items on the menu including but most likely not limited to: gator bites, yellowtail, hogfish, grouper, sweet potato fries, cold bud light, tempura batter and good service. I ended up with the grilled mahi mahi which was served with fries instead of asparagus and since our server never came back to check on us, I can only assume they were out of asparagus too. My husband had a fried fish sandwich with a small portion of fish that was lost in the oversized roll. We sat for upwards of 20 minutes without drink refills and had to flag our server down. We were really excited to try Brutus based on the many good reviews but sadly we left disappointed.
