Brunos Italian Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Right now Brunos is our go-to neighborhood restaurant. Food and service are consistently good, and it is in a convenient location. We much prefer Brunos to the cookie cutter chain Italian restaurants. Can't miss with the homemade pappardelle and budino for dessert.
We have eaten at Bruno's several times, most recently on a Wednesday night when they had live music! The food is always good, interesting pastas and nice entrees. My only complaint is that our entrees came out before we had finished our appetizers. That is my pet peeve! I hate to be rushed when I am dining with my husband. Otherwise, we love Bruno's and will return. The fact that is located on a street with two movie theaters is also a plus!
Our food was very good, but it took a very long time to get to us. The people next to us were seated shortly after we were and ordered their food at the same time. They got their food and were almost done before our dinners arrived. Something happened and our entree order didn't get handled properly. I'm not sure where the snafu was, but we were there almost 2 hours for dinner and ended up being late for our live theater show. They did give us free wine/drinks, but we had to rush to finish our desserts.
Pork chop: was dry and tasted like old oil
meatballs and spaghetti: mushy noodles, very little sauce, meatballs were good.
Waiter was very dry, no smile or came to check on us. After we were given the bill, we didn't see the waiter again, he was busy talking to a table full of girls.
I made a reservation for two for Saturday, 9th, for 6:30 pm thru Open Table. I had specifically requested a quiet table without too much traffic. The occasion was to celebrate my grad school graduation. The day before the reservation, Brunos sent a reminder text, so I appreciated that reminder. We were greeted by a hostess who was quite prompt. I wouldn't describe that particular experience as being friendly greeting, but more like, "production mode." As we walked into the restaurant, there were many open tables, but they sat us RIGHT DEAD CENTER of the restaurant. It's like standing in the dead center of the restaurant and draw a criss cross, it is where two points meet. Yes, center of traffic... My date even made a comment, "there are so many other open tables and they seat us here? hmmmm.."
Someone reading this comment might ask, "Why didn't you ask for something different, then?"
I thought about asking for something different too, but perhaps this is as good as it can be for the staff at Brunos...even after I had specifically requested a quiet table. The table for 2 was quite small and because we were at dead center, I felt as though I didn't have enough elbow room for fear of bumping someone. Considering all the positive reviews I've read on Yelp, I was quite disappointed. Unfortunately, whenever I think about my graduation celebration dinner experience at the Brunos, I will have a vivid memory of dead center seating; staff's lackadaisical approach to customer's special request.
The food was quite good and the portion size was also comparable to price. The overall atmosphere was enjoyable as well.
Didn't event get my order right. I ordered a fettuccini plate that was suppose to have mushrooms and they gave me a plate with sausage crumbs. Waiter didn't even ask how I liked the food because she knew I would let her know that my meal wasn't made correctly.
Bruno's continues to amaze. 4th time there and it gets better every time. Tonight I had the lasagna and it was so good and a great value. Service team on top of everything. Love this place!!
Staff - I love take out sometimes and I think you guys need to get that side of things a little better. Food is still good but the process is a bit awkward. And the portions seem smaller.
Pasta and pudding were good. My pork chop was very dry. I mentioned to the waiter twice about the pork chop, but he didnt do anything to fix it. It was to Celebrate the completion of my cancer treatment, but i wasnt that happy at all. I will not choose to go there again.
Came to have dinner and dessert with my daughter and husband. The ambiance was nice and soft, the food was excellent, and the service was outstanding! All four of us ordered different entrees and they were all equally delicious.
I made our reservations a couple of days before through Open Table. I was able to add a note the day of the reservation that it was my daughter and husband's birthday too.
All and all, it was easy to make the reservation at my convenience and had a great experience! I highly suggest Bruno's to anyone who want's a great dining experience.
