This is a great Date place or even a large family gathering! Great martinis, wine and dessert!
My wife and i celebrated Valentines day here on Feb 12th, loved it.
Both of us loved the food, spagetti with meat sauce, meatballs, the bread, do good.
Service was nice and the bill was reasonable.
Gotta say, we will be coming back here!
This is a new neighborhood gem that we all hope survives up zoning. The food is traditional Italian with specials that go beyond. Portions are plentiful and their homemade sausage is a must. Special steaks are always full of flavor. The new owner (since fall of 2017) is very motivated to please and the prices are very reasonable. Go... you won’t be disappointed! And in the current cold snap, the circular fireplace in the midst of the dining room makes it quite cozy....
You must try the homemade gnocchi in Gorgonzola sauce (other sauce choices are offered as well).
Busy place with two waiters attending. Very professional service though. The location is not pretty at all. It’s located a long the road. It’s seems like most people who dine here are people who lives around the neighborhood. The food were average I expected more, they have big servings but it didn’t really had any extraordinary in the taste specially the pastas. I love the olives. The grilled medium rare strip steak is very tasty. We ordered Amarone wine and we love their selections. The bread is definitely not fresh. Dessert taste good. We had panna cotta, lemon cake and triple chocolate tiramisu. I noted that it was my mothers birthday celebration and no one even bothered to greet her. If I will go back again? No!
Wonderful spot, great ambience. We have been a handful of times, each time bringing new people with us because it is so good. Wonderful servers and service, a nice variety in the menu, and a robust and reasonably priced wine list.
Had a lovely dinner here with friend early-ish on a Tuesday nite. My second time here since the change-of-ownership. First time not so great, so gave it another chance. Better! Service friendly, although the waiter and bartender had loud voices and could be heard over other diners. And had a loud conversation at another table (there was an older woman there-- perhaps she was hard of hearing?). But they were nice and the food was delicious. Our wine was a reasonably-priced Italian white, and we did not have dessert. My Caesar salad was only so-so, but the 2 pasta entrees were, as I said before, delicious. I'd definitely come again, and maybe branch out and try something different on the menu and skip the Caesar.
Excellent all around. Food was delicious.
One of the better Italian restaurants I have been to in the area. Wife and kids loved it
This is a regular dining spot for us and we always have a great meal.
This is my fourth visit since the new owner took over. I've had an amazing meal here every time. Tim is very hands on, making sure each table has.a great experience. Highly recommend the rigatoni or any of the very creative specials of the day. Cocktails and wine selection are super, too. Warm, intimate, romantic spot to share with family and friends. Will be returning soon!
Wonderful Italian dining experience in Seattle. The food is done with creativity and care, and the staff are top-notch! Delicious flavors and a great wine list too. My wife have done our last two anniversaries here. Recommended!
Really great food but our experience was really negatively affected by our waiter. I think this was a combination of him being new but quite frankly they just didn't have enough staff for a full restaurant.
Our first time - had heard from friends about it. Went on a Sunday night. Relatively quiet. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Food was very good - reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that my wife's pasta order came about 5-10 minutes after my son and I got our meals due to snafu in the kitchen. We will definitely visit again though.
Amazing service and food
Food & service was awesome! We will definitely be back and will recommend Brunello to our friends.
The evening was quiet, the table nicely set. The seating area not crowded. The waiter started our evening with a disclaimer that he knew his business well but didn't know the restaurant or menu very well and we would work through it together. This was a little disarming and unnecessary since another waiter did all the work. The food was good, standard Italian fare. The prices were fine, the whole experience satisfying... But not extraordinary.
Excellent all around! The food was delicious and service was wonderful!
Great staff who went above and beyond so that I could ask my girlfriend's parents for their permission to marry her.
Staff did their more than their best and went out of their way to help accommodate all of us.
Penne Vodka dish is mega balling, would highly recommend it. Management is outstanding. Ambiance and quality is super high end.
Prices are extremely fair and gentle for an area of that real estate price and high net worth of residents nearby.
Felt like home. Definitely want to learn italian after this experience - Winston Chan
We arrived after Symphony performance and what a beautiful meal. Delicious pastas, etc. Only comment would be that the calamari was a bit greasy. But other than this, will return for another enjoyable evening.
We had a 30th birthday party for our youngest daughter. The food was excellent, we had a great table, and the server was a delight. The owner paid extra attention to our party, made us want to come back again!
Absolutely amazing spot. We spent our anniversary here and it was delightful. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was cozy and quaint and the service was exceptional. We will be coming back as much as possible.
We ordered an Ossobuco, and it was on the tough side. Needed a little more cooking time. Fravor was good. The rice was superb.
It was a great dining experience. The food was authentic Italian. Great selection of wine, and a calm romantic atmosphere.
This restaurant was FANTASTIC. The food, the service, and the restaurant itself. Having just gone to Italy this past summer, I fell in love with the authentic Italian food there and it brought me back to Italy. The food is so delicious and authentically Italian, and the service was exceptional. Very attentive waiter and we couldn’t get enough of the bolognese and filet mignon. We DEFINITELY will be back again, many more times! Best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in Seattle so far! Also, the restaurant is small and quaint, which is wonderful and refreshing compared to the large restaurants in Seattle. Not too expensive either, but is a tiny bit pricey for some things on menu. Wonderful wonderful wonderful! So glad that we found it.
We sort of stumbled on Brunello and were pleasantly surprised. We felt like we were actually in Italy for the evening. A serendipity!
Our waiter was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. He was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and wine list with helpful recommendations. The food service was efficient, timed just right to allow four off us to have a pleasant conversation. We never wondered when the food would arrive. Our dinners were delicious and prepared perfectly. Deserts and after-dinner drinks topped off a great evening. The complementary drop of late-harvest ice wine was a very nice touch. We'll be back.
Our first time in, nice ambience. Good service, nice wine list, very tasty dishes. We met the owner and enjoyed hearing his plans for the operation. Only suggestion is the music doesn't match the rest of the setting. A little loud, and almost a techno vibe, while the rest of the setting is pretty traditional Italian.
It was not a busy night, the wait staff were very good, great food in a very timely manner. Wine list is quite varied and the staff will help you pair them with your food.
Wonderful last minute reservation. Food was very good, (salmon and potatoes, chicken marsala), wine was great, martini was awesome, overall wonderful!
Best Italian food I have had for the price point. Great little locally owned place. Eat slow and save room for dessert!
Enjoyed the new owners on their one year anniversary. Service was excellent. Desserts wonderful. Every one enjoyed their pasta meals.
came for a ladies night out on a weeknight. super weird entrance and kind of strange interior. very old school, NY-style italian vibe. the service was absolutely fantastic though, and the food was to die for. i have not had better burrata anywhere in seattle, and their wine was amazing. the only thing i would say that i didn't love was the bacon in my carbonara was too underdone. it was really fatty and didn't have that crisp contrast that i love in a carbonara. my friend had gnocchi and it was seriously the best gnocchi i have ever had. super light, airy, and in a delicious gorgonzola sauce. lots of specials, too! we had the chanterelle mushrooms and they were absolutely stunning. in a nutshell, great traditional italian food with simple ingredients, prepared with skill.
Our server was new, but very nice. Food was good, not exceptional.
Good food and good service! This was our second visit and we enjoyed it.
We have been going to this restaurant for years and enjoyed it. Since new management took it over about a a year ago, Brunello’s has risen to an even better restaurant. They have very good Italian food but also offer daily specials which I would describe as northwest cuisine. Their staff are very flexible and will modify almost any dish to make it special for you. They have also expanded their wine selection which includes both we’ll know domestic and Italian offerings. Equally important to the success of Brunellos is the ever present owner and manager Tim. He is extremely friendly and will remember you on your next visit. Tim also has a wealth of knowledge about wine and will recommend the perfect pairing if you wish. I’m sure if you try Brunello’s you will become a regular like us.
Very happy to discover this excellent Mediterranean gem. The outside doesn't look very inviting but the inside decor is wonderful. Both food and service were outstanding and we plan on returning.
This was our second visit in 2 months and we really enjoyed it again. Tim, the owner, is a gracious, gregarious, welcoming and passionate host... and he LOVES talking about wine, especially Brunello, of which he has an impressive list from which to choose. We opted for the Campo Giovanni 2008 this time. It was big in the nose, complex and full in the mouth with excellent balance and length. Our appetizers included clams & mussels, the antipasti plate and the caprese salad. Our entrees included pasta carbonara with a side of meatballs, penne vodka, veal limone, veal marsala and the Dover sole special. All of them were excellent - perfect execution, tasty and served piping hot. Don't miss the don Ximenez sherry poured over vanilla ice cream for dessert. I think I'll get this every time.
This visit was my third in a month. A friend recommended it. I call it a neighborhood gem that would be easy to pass by on busy Roosevelt Way. Tim knows me and recognizes me, so he is attentive, but not to me or my group exclusively: he welcomes and attends to all. I've had three pasta dishes, all different and outstanding: rigatoni con salciccia, pasta alla vodka, and another with a touch of jalapeno. On Monday, our group of four shared the bruschetta with tomato: swimming in oil and heaped with the mixture of tomato, onion, and all. For those who enjoy Sicilian wines, the primitivo is great. All in all, excellent value for quality food, wine, and service. Photos: rigatoni, and a view from my first visit to the terrace outdoors.
From the moment in the door to exiting with our friends, smiles on our faces, Brunello‘s was superb; terrific service, wonder dishes (the Gamborini sauce was superb, and the wine selections excellent and well-priced). We’ll be back for more.
We were a party of five with reservations. We were seated at a table right by the door. I found it
noisy and uncomfortable being in the traffic area.
