The place wasn’t even open. Doors locked. Tried to call to see what was going on and nobody answered.
Terrible business practice. Will never go back. Total waste of time.
We enjoyed our dinner, from the beet salad, escargot appetizers, to the entrees. They did have a nice wine list. We had eaten there previously, and enjoyed each time we did. Unfortunately, we were told during dinner it was the last night for the restaurant. They were closing after that night. So closes another good restaurant for reasons I don’t understand.
Beautiful restaurant. Great ambiance. Spectacular food
Perfect every single time! So sad to see they are closing.
Had a great meal on Valentine's Day! Service was excellent, and the food was wonderful. Would recommend to anyone looking for an upscale dining experience with a casual flair. Will definitely go back.
Expected a French restaurant, only to find out it is American, still great food and service.
Food was good but not exceptional. The candied lemon in the beet salad were so hard I thought I had eaten broken glass. The scallops were cooked appropriately but the pork belly was mushy and an unappealing color. My boyfriend's burger was overcooked. We also waited for over five minutes for water and over 10 minutes to have our order taken with a reservation.
We wanted to like this restaurant, but sadly the service and food were not quite there. It could be a fluke, but we probably won't give it another shot unless business brings us there. Ambiance is lovely.
I really enjoyed this establishment. The service was great and the ambiance very nice. Limited menu, but the food was prepared well.
Great Service, Excellent food. Good selections to pick from! Worth the experience, would go back again!
Great lunch spot. Food was made fresh, really unique menu. Great service, quiet friendly atmosphere.
Beautiful place for a Sunday brunch. The portion sizes varied dramatically although dishes are priced similarly. Two large pieces of spicy chicken with 1/2 a waffle. Three small slices of toast with smoked salmon. An average size order of excellent French toast with waffles. I made the worst choice of the 4: crab louis salad was awfully heavy on the lettuce and light on the rest but tasted fine and my side order of biscuits were the best I've ever had.
The food was the WORST I have ever had. The lobster Mac and cheese was not that at all. There was no lobster in it. The steak when asked to be cooked medium rare came out RAW! A TITOS martini cost $17. And was told that it normally cost $12 but since it came in a martini glass they charged $5 more dollars. WILL NEVER GO AGAIN AND WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND
All 4 of us loved the food. Unfortunately, our server was not attentive in taking our order, checking back, or getting our bill. She even knocked over our unfinished bottle of wine. I was surprised to find it on my dress later because it probably splashed out as she uprighted the bottle, but there was no offer to pay for dry-cleaning and after the night when there wasn't a lot of attention, I didn't bother to ask. Regardless, the food was excellent and came out hot. I would go back again. I thought it just might not have been a good night for the server.
Always nice to dine in Sewickley and Bruneaux is one of the best. Seasonal menu with varied choices, all fresh and tasty. Seating is a little tight in the winter but in warm weather the patio can't be beat!
Great service, good wine selection, excellent salad, tasteless meatloaf and gummy Thai curry shrimp. Will try again.
Great food and ambience, service even better! Casual yet classy at the same time.
Food, Service and Atmosphere were all fabulous!! Our group had Strip Steak, Chicken Parmesan and Beef cheeks....each was delicious with perfectly paired sides. The flourless chocolate cake is to die for. Will be returning and recommending to family & friends❤️
Bruneaux was an excellent date night for me and my boyfriend! It ended up being a snowy Saturday evening, but Sewickley has such a quaint main street it made for a very romantic, cozy evening.
The prices were a little higher for some items than listed on the most recent online menu (which is up-to-date otherwise), and the drinks were very expensive for what they were ($14 for a Manhattan that was mostly ice, or $14+ for a very small pour glass of wine). A nice variety of beer options by the bottle, only 1 option on draft. Definitely a neighborhood gem, but with upscale downtown Pittsburgh prices, even for being in the most affluent portion of Sewickley.
My boyfriend got the filet, I got the black and bleu NY Strip steak. Both were fair portions and excellent cuts of meat, accompanied by potato and vegetable sides that paired well. We also ordered the corn and crab bisque and wedge salad for starters, both were good.
The ambiance made for a very romantic date night. Lily was our waitress, she was not only friendly, but very attentive to our table and needs. Cannot say enough nice things about her!
Overall, I would recommend Bruneaux to anyone looking for a nice spot for a date night or special occasion meal out! Perhaps a little more expensive than we'd planned on spending, but it was worth it for the overall experience! Worth the drive up from our home in Robinson.
Beautiful and elegant space with great service and delicious and unpretentious food!
Great atmosphere, great service, great food!
Enjoyed our New Year's Eve dinner at Bruneaux for the second year in a row and it was spectacular. The scallops were perfectly seared and tender. Fried chicken & waffles was creative and seasoned beautifully. Bruneaux is a Sewickley gem!
Bruneaux never disappoints. Great Service, excellent food and an exceptional wine list. Definitely worth a try if you have never been here!
Extremely disappointed in the food. Ordered steak and eggs and hame and cheese crepes which were ok. Two of us ordered eggs benedict both of which were really cold as if they’d been sitting for quite awhile. Even more disappointing since we were only one of two parties at the time. This dish itself left a lot to be desired - 4 plain pieces of brioche toast (looked like Texas toast) with what seemed like deli ham and not properly poached eggs over top. Bloody Mary’s were good but small for the price. Wanted to love it just didn’t.
Loved it all but the rice pilaf which was awful. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a rush. Lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Check it out!
Experience for brunch was ok; Good coffee
food was good not great, and for the price, expected a little more- ie fruit or side with pancakes.
Romantic birthday dinner for just my wife and me. Great food, presentation, creativity and service.
Food was good. Dawn was outstanding as server. Enjoyed it. We will be back
Was looking forward to it as there is tons of decent word about the place. Service was good. Food was not that good or fresh and definitely not worth the price or the drive from the city.
I’ve eaten brunch many time there and have always had a great meal. I brought 2 guest for a holiday celebration. I, along with another guest ordered the eggs Benedict. Both came out ice cold!!! The waitress was very sorry and went to the chef to ask for new ones. Upon this the chef was very displeased and it was very noticeable. Upon receiving the new plates of eggs Benedict... my guest couldn’t even eat hers the eggs weren’t done and it was still cold, mine was cold but I survived due to the fact I was starving. The waitress did Comp the meal which I appreciate but it was disappointing when your entertaining guests.
Even the table next to us had to send there eggs Benedict back. This is very upsetting due to the fact I was going to bring another party this Sunday for holiday get together. I’m to nervous to have the same experience. So I guess I’ll have to wait to come back and try again.
One of the best lunches ever. Food was delicious, employees friendly, room beautiful.
My husband and I have dined in many Pittsburgh restaurants that label themselves "fine dining." Bruneaux is the most authentic of them b/c it provides a truly "fine" experience from start to finish.
The atmosphere is shiek, but comfortable. The menu options are unique, but not intimidating. The staff is attentive, but not overbearing.
I also appreciate that the Bruneaux team (i.e., owner and head chefs) partner closely to offer seasonal menu options. They select and blend complementary ingredients with care, testing each and every recipe to ensure they meet diner's expectations. (The team gave me insight into their process after I inquired about how they made the best scallops I have ever tasted.)
Bruneaux is truly a "fine" restaurant and among our very favorites. I confidently recommend it to OpenTable members.
Second visit to restaurant. Service was excellent, food was very good, everything was very fresh. Would not hesitate to return or recommend.
a local gem in Sewickley
one of the best chicken dishes I have had in a long time
crabcake and a cocktail was enjoyed by my guest
Came for dinner on Saturday night. Started with the beet salad-delicious & enough to split. Excellent crab cakes & filet. Plenty of leftovers for breakfast the next AM! Wines by the glass did not have much choice. Enjoyed a French Chardonnay & a cab. Sat next to the door which was a bit chilly. Good ambience. Will return for more!
Chef’s table was wonderful
Dined here on Sewickley Light Up night. Liked the menu selection. The favorites at our table was the lober mac and cheese appetizer. The crab cakes and chicken and waffles were very tasty. The lamb was also good. Nice spot in the middle of the neighborhood.
Excellent for lunch brunch or dinner
Honoring a departed friend
The service and food were excellent. The prices were higher than most. The wine by the glass was especially expensive for the size pour that was served.
