This place is probably better at 10 p.m. than 10 a.m.
We wanted to get a quick breakfast before heading to the train station. I guess only locals are allowed to do this. We seemed like an inconvenience more than guests and the staff were complaining about opening so early. The food was good and fast, which was what we were looking for.
Good for a post marathon dinner. Server seemed slow to get back to us for drink orders and to check in and annoyed that we asked for separate checks. However just what we needed after a long rainy day.
Went to Brownstone for Sunday brunch. Ordered the omelet with asparagus, oyster mushrooms, and fontina. As best I could tell, the omelet was made with cremini mushrooms, not oysters. Tea was served lukewarm. The potatoes were tasty, though, and they had plenty of brunch options.
Bartender was somewhat abrupt and not very personable.
The food was beyond amazing; it hit the spot just right! The mac & cheese sauce on the pulled pork eggs Benedict just worked so well. The environment was great too, especially with the the killer throwback playlist!
Food (dinner) was delicious, cool restaurant and bar, but the restaurant was extremely loud.
Had a delicious dinner with my family while visiting Boston. One of the best meals we had during our stay. Reserved a high top table and had excellent service. A bit loud but that’s the atmosphere!
Had Easter brunch here. Had never been. Convenient parking lot (pay) next door since street parking is Permit Only (mostly). Alex was an excellent waiter and food was amazing - came quickly too! Pulled pork Benedict and crunchy french toast were great, as was my ham and cheese omelette. Loved it so much, we booked reservation for ten later in the month to celebrate a birthday! Would recommend.
Great brunch menu-service good The pulled pork and frosted flake french toast are a must
Theres plenty of street and lot parking nearby
Breakfast was delicious. I would recommend the food, service was great, drinks were just right and definitely have the homefries.
Amazing brunch- we got the Iffcct and the pulled pork Benedict... both were killer.
Our second trip to Brownstone on Saturday night after a wine tasting at BCA. We actually got there early but it wasn’t packed yet so we got sat right away at a booth in the back. I can’t remember our server’s name (male, glasses) but he was patient and accommodating. He even got my boyfriends phone charged for him.
Food was good. My burger was cooked to order and I finished it before my fries (which never happens). BF got chicken Sammy and was pleased as well.
It is loud in here so don’t think you can have an intimate conversation, but come to have good food and a good time.
Brownstone was absolutely phenomenal. We had a group of 9 here and were able to sit comfortably. The service was fast and the food, delicious. I would go here again any time!
I got the salmon special with the mango coconut sauce and it was delicious!
Great brunch daily!
Great for a brunch
This is the second time we have eaten here. The first time was on a Sunday afternoon. It was great. The second time it was busy and loud, my food arrived cold, and the server easy worthless.
Did an amazing job at accommodating a small party of 8 that turned into a party of 30.
Wonderful food, great service, brilliant value for money and a great atmosphere with a particularly good playlist.
We would definitely recommend stopping by Brownstone while in Boston Back Bay Area.
Loved the high top seating, comfortable and cozy - not fancy, neighborhood diner-esk
Love Brownstones brunch! Great food at a great price. The CCFC and pasta were delicious and server was so nice.
Had Sunday brunch with my wife and daughter. What a pleasant surprise. Great waiter, food was incredible and plenty of it to eat. Couldn’t finish entire meal - too much, yet not too expensive. Great atmosphere and easy to get to from Copley Square. I would definitely go back when I’m back in town!
Was there for brunch. Great ambiance, good food with affordable brunch prices for the South End. However, the coffee was awful and they were out of hot tea. Service could be friendlier.
The food and dining area are great but the service was slow. This was because it was busy and not so much a problem with the staff or waitress.
loved everything!! had a great brunch here, prompt service + amazing food
Hostess was unfriendly and offered us the worst seat in an empty restaurant. Because we asked we got a better table. Bathroom was in need of sprucing up. General cleanliness needed improvement. Will not return. Ambiance was not appealing
Brunch was good. Everyone had a combination of eggs, pancakes, corned beef hash, potatoes, and bacon. The coffee was exceptionally good! Would definitely come back and recommend.
Great but hard to hear over the noise.
Service was faster than expected and the food was amazing!!! The price for 4 people was lower than I ever would have guessed, which was fantastic. I'd definitely get brunch here again!
Poutine was very good.
Two of us ordered the duck. We probably should have sent it back. I like mine medium rare and the first couple of slices were almost bloody.
Brownstone is a great venue for a bar party. Friendly, accommodating, no hassle. Reserve the high top (table 50) if you want to stay late and move between the table and the bar. Our server was amazing--he brought new glasses out as more people arrived, took individual and group orders, brought us waters. Wonderful night, Thank you!
Great spot for brunch, so many good options! Will definitely be back
Food was good. Service fair. Probably wouldn’t go again.
This is the second time I have had Sunday Brunch at the Brownstone. The menu is great, service was good and I love sitting at the high top tables.
Food was great, service was good.Generous portions.
Great service, good service, gross bathroom. The DIY Mimosas and the FCCFT were wonderful.
We went as a group of 7 for a friend’s 21st birthday, definitely plan to spend at least $30, but it was so fun and worth it! Cool vibes!
Service was excellent and food was delicious. Waitress was pleasant and attentive. Restaurant can be very noisy at night but was quiet for lunch. We were in and out in an hour and made it to the matinee we were attending close by. Would definitely come back.
Quick service, good food. Overall, a fine experience for a quick brunch.
This place is great! A little bit noisy as, perhaps, any other bar but overall it is one of my favorite bars - they provide a good choice of beer, wine, and cocktails. Will definitely come back and recommend everyone I know.
