Delightful, creative fusion-style menu, live, tasteful music with opportunity to sing along; excellent service. A treat all around--highly recommended
Delicious entress and great music to listen to by the Winiker Band, plus singers. Great night out. HIghly recommend.
Very good food
We really liked the food and the service was good even though it was very busy. I did think asking us to leave as they had a table of ten to seat was kind of rude. I understand they were busy but we spent alot and it just felt rude. Otherwise, I would absolutely come back and we will. Very nice place. Excellent food. A little pricey but very nice.
Excellent brunch--great eggs Benedict and challah French toast selection, as well as creative mimosa choices. Excellent value! Can get a touch loud and crowded.
We had a very good meal and enjoyed our time. The lamb was very good as was the calamari starter.
I love Brother’s Restaurant. A wonderful treasure in Brooline and especially on Saturdays and Sundays when the Winiker’s play music and invite singers to sing and play instruments. Friendly, great food and the place to be.
We went to hear the Winiker Band, and know the food is good, with moderate prices. Just love the combination of great music and food.
Given all the other great alternatives in the neighborhood, the experience was mediocre at best. Went for a brunch/lunch on a Saturday. Staff was nice enough, but level of service was just so-so. Nothing stood out here. Meh.
The food was pretty good but not exceptional as the reviews we had read led us to believe. The place was old and needs updated.
We had a reservation for party of five for lunch. We were sat right away and The server came over promptly . The menu has breakfast options and lunch options. They also have specials including cocktails Mimosa’s etc. we did not have to wait long for our meals. The food was fresh hot and delicious. We would definitely go back.
Good brunch addition to the area
Nice jazz band. Good food and cocktails.
I love love love the service at brother's - it is consistently the best service I have had in the area (and I live here)! The food is a tad bit pricy but you get what you pay for. Everything - especially the fruit - is fresh. The food is creative and tasty. I also love how they make their own muffins.
Fantastic brunch menu, very good food and good quality! Service also very good, we’ll be back!
Great breakfast place, priced well especially for the area.
We met our son and future daughter in law for breakfast. All of our breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. My omelet was perfection!! The Challah bread French toast with fruit was incredible. Fresh, Fresh Fresh and real maple syrup. Highly recommended!
That was a very good choice for Sunday dinner with friends. Food was very good and live music performance was great.
The food here is great but the service I awful. We made a reservation for standard seating for 11am and not only did we not get standard seating, we also didn’t sit until 11:15am. The table we eventually sat at also was empty for about 5 mins before someone bused it so that we could sit down. Great food but don’t bother making a reservation, they don’t mean anything here!!
Disgusting food, inept service - never again
Service was terrible. Food was okay but not worth the price.
Brother is a great place for breakfast in Brookline. The Challah french toast is excellent and a solid choice. Its often hard to choose with so many options in Brookline + Allston + Fenway all being close enough to consider. Don't discount Brothers, it a great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. I have not had an oppertunity to try dinner here but will give it a go soon.
Went for brunch and it was pretty quiet and delicious! Dishes were pretty standard, nothing to write home about, but they were very well done! The little muffins they gave us as a free bread basket were👌🏻
Food was awful and tasteless. I will not be going back.
Went on a quite night and had the cod croquettes that were excellent! I did think my drink was a little watery. Service was very pleasant.
Good food. Average wine list.
The first thing you notice walking in is that NO ONE ELSE is here. The waitress was most intent on telling us the specials even after we asked if we could get a cocktail first. The food came fast and was very tasty, but we couldn’t leave fast enough. Eerily empty. I hope the chef stays while someone figures out a marketing plan!
We went for Sunday brunch at sat outside, beautiful day! Irish benedict and triple berry pancakes were great! Thanks!
Had breakfast here. All of the food was bland and the service was lacking. There were only two other families in the restaurant so it wasn't because the place was busy. All of the eggs ordered were a bit rubbery, the toast cold, and breakfast fajitas and calamari dish we ordered very bland. And it was not cheap. Almost $50 for two entrees and a kids plate. Would not go again.
Great breakfast omelets. However, we arrived at 7am with reservations through OpenTable, and while the door was open and we were able to sit, nobody arrived at the restaurant to take our order until 7:15. The man who arrived (owner? waiter? manager?) never apologized and took his time taking our order (we arrived at 7:00; he arrived at 7:15; he didn't come by to take our order until 7:30).
Booked a table for 6 @11:30am on Sunday, prime time Brunch hour. We were seated almost exactly on time. We ordered 2 sides of bacon, Jalapeño omelette, Western Omelette, their Brookline Light Bowl (lite?), Corn Beef Hash plate & banana blueberry pancakes. The food came out within 20 minutes, even delivered by the chef himself, a nice touch. It was warm and rated from good to very . The only downside was one of us ordered one of their advertised brunch cocktails when we first sat, but we were told we had to wait 20 minutes till noon. It was a buzz kill, no pun intended. Maybe it’s a Brookline regulation on Sunday or a Brothers policy but it was disappointing; when noon rolled around the food was coming and they ordered tea instead as they usually do. It’s a minor detail but brunch and “Bloodies” just go together.
The food was was creative and pretty good. We had a group of 5 and made reservations for Sunday brunch but we still had to wait 20+ minutes to be seated.
Very enjoyable night. There was a jazz band, multiple singers and good music. Short ribs are excellent and value for money very good
Juan carlos our waiter was great and sang well too!! Liked the jazz and food was good!
Food was great, live music was fun!
Wonderful food. 5 of us ordered 5 different meals and 5 different wines by the glass. Everyone raved. I like that they offer regular table seating as an alternative to high-tops, which I find extremely uncomfortable. The menu has a wide variety of options.
The chef is great, and therefore the food is too. The only negative is the ambiance - if Brother's could work on that then for me they would have it all. Just a matter of paying attention to the tables and decor.
This was our first time at Brothers for dinner -- a friend of ours was performing. We found everything about it (except the performance) not bad but very ordinary. The salmon, chicken parm, and crab cakes were OK but not more than. There are so many better restaurants in north Brookline that we would not return to this one.
Really great brunch place. Lots of choices and all yummy. Great music on the weekends also.
