The food was delicious and the services was just as good. I will return for sure.
Great food, but pricey. We budgeted for the event, so were prepared; however, the bill was over$200 for five of us.
Grudgingly, if going with a group. Good beer selection, loud family friend environment. But, ribs were not tender and fall off the bone, salads were bland, basic, not tasty at all. I think pulled pork would have been a good entre choice, as hot mess nachos were pretty good. Won't go there to eat again.
Worst service ever. Sat at our table for 20 minutes without so much as a greeting or even water. Servers looked right through us and they were not even busy. We got up to leave and decided to let the manager know of our disappointment. She couldn’t have cared less. We will not be back.
This was our first time here and we really liked it. My husband had a burger that he really enjoyed and I had a salad that was great. We shared some nachos as an appetizer that were nothing special. We had great service. We would definitely go again!
Always great meal and big drink selection. Bartender very knowledgeable of different beers.
The restaurant is understaffed. We had long waits for drinks and food.
One of the best burgers in town, in addition to excellent BBQ and sides.
We were an older group (60-70) so are used to a more quiet dining experience though we were looking forward to the ambience and the food. Thé resto/bar was beautiful, eclectic and well designed. We were all impressed with your setting. Our host did not have a record of our reservations even though I had telephoned the morning before and left a confirmation message on your answering machine. He promptly seated us anyway and an excellent waitress came by and gave us an informative, humourous description of the food. We were excited. We were offered tastings of beer which we appreciated, not knowing the beers on hand and final made our selections of food and beverages. From then on it was wait, wait wait. Always a different waitress and always something missing from the meal, no smoked potato available, half an order of ribs instead of a full order. My husband finally ordered a coffee which we waited forever for and when another different waitress brought it, sans cream, simply said it "was coming". It never did. Too bad as we liked the place but probably can't recommend it to friends from our area in Green Valley as it wasn't worth the drive. We older folks are used to better service.
Pulled pork and sides were very tasty. Really enjoyed the variety of beer styles as well as the choices within each style. Also liked being able to buy small pours vs just pints or 1/2 pints.
Delightful dining experience. Our first time with the "pairing" opportunity. Food was excellent as always, the trying of different beers with each course was a treat. We will do it again
At six 6:15 you were out of baked potatoes which was disappointing. The ugly steak was too tough to eat. Mac and cheese and cilantro salad dressing were very good. Not in a hurry to come back.
We had a great lunch celebrating a friend’s birthday. Everyone enjoyed their food and beverages. Beignets shared for dessert were really a treat!
Food was fantastic! I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, and my guests had variety of the other sandwiches. If you want fries, you need to order them as a side. Something to keep in mind while ordering. Everyone was pleased with the food. Service on the other hand was far from pleasant. We ordered food and waited 45 minutes until we were served. I didn't understand why we had the wait when we had arrived 5 other guests were in the restaurant. Our server was pleasant and eager to please. She checked on us a few times during the visit. Getting the check was another 20 min. wait as well. Restaurant was really dark for a lunchtime meal as were the restrooms. Will come again but maybe I will order food ahead of time or take it to go!
We truly love this restaurant.....it was recommended to us and we were so happy we went. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great for a Saturday evening dinner with live music. This will be our weekend dinner location for sure. You cannot go wrong if you try this restaurant....amazing food and friendly service!
Great food and selection of beer!
We enjoyed the food and servers. It was great talking with John too, learning of his background and ambitions!
The food is outstanding. The portions are huge the chicken sandwich looked like it came with a full chicken. Bar was stocked to the top and the music was great later at night.
This was our second, and probably last time will be coming to Brother John’s BBQ. We had reservations for six people at 7:30pm, because it was Valentine’s Day and we made sure we made reservations in advance. We walked in at said reservation time and they had deleted our reservation reading it incorrectly ( the evening manager). They saw their mistake and still seated a group of 11 people before us, who did not have a reservation, and then seated us. The table they seated Ahead of us continuously had good service, their order taken in a timely fashion, all of their drinks and food, before we were even served our beverages. About 45 minutes after we were seated I went to the bar and asked for my drink, and the waitressed hadn’t even put in my order. I then went to the manager and explained the situation and she then had people give us attention at our table. This is after the entire restaurant was pretty much cleared of dinner at about 830. Our bills collectively, for the six of us, wAs about $160 total. That said the only consolation we had after being served significantly late, and ignored for nearly 45 minutes to an hour, was free dessert, that we didn’t choose because by the time we were served dinner they were out of everything. I am super disappointed in how they handled it so lightly. Also we missed our prepaid movie and that cost us 30.00 a couple each so about $90.00 total there.
Food was outstanding, but our side orders did not arrive with our entrees, and it took several requests to receive them. When I complained, the server took them off the bill and every effort after that was made to make up for it.
Excellent atmosphere.the waitress always smiling and explained the menu for us.
Food was good, wait was way too long and they had open tables. After we got seated we waited 15 minutes before I went to find someone to wait on us. They when the server final came by she acted irritated and gave us terrible service the rest of the night.
Interesting dining area with wood tables, good beer selection, nice food for the type and for the money. Service can be stressed at times apparently due to the load at peak hours. We had both BBQ as well as salads with pulled pork and all was good.
Excellent BBQ, our party enjoyed our meal in the lively atmosphere. All dishes were outstanding, and friendly and attentive service. We all look forward to our return visits.
Very bad table serice, after customers left the tables remained dirty for a long time.Bus Boys might be a good idea on busy times. It took a very long time to get our drinks. A second bar tender wiuld have helped
The barbecue here is absolutely delicious. Their beer menu is pretty extensive and the servers were very knowledgeable with their suggestions. Everything we ate was so good; the brisket, the burgers, the tacos, the sandwich, even the shepherds pie! Brother John even stopped by our table to see how everything went. I cannot wait to come back.
After making the reservation for us and two friends, we got to the restaurant and they were closed and having a party for the employees. How did I get a reservation when they knew that they were going to be closed?
Had family get together and was a great place for everyone to mingle
Food was great and well priced. Service was very slow (and we had an early evening reservation @5:30). More servers needed!
The whole experience had issues from beginning to end. Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived, then when it was, no one ever welcomed/greeted us. We waited a long time for menus, to order drinks, the drinks to arrive, get more menus bc half the table didn’t ever get them etc.
when we asked if there was a wine list we were told, “nope” and the server walked away. He must’ve seen the shock on my face bc he did turn around and said, there might be one on after the bourbons on that clipboard but I don’t know, and walked away again.
Lots of issues all around...every person in our party of 17 had some kind of problem.
Broken glass was left on the floor, I was unaware of this until later when some got stuck in my shoe and my friend said she had asked earlier if someone was going to clean it up and they said, “can’t you just walk around it?” I did hear at least 5 glasses break over the course of our 3 hour visit (should’ve been 1.5 hrs at most), but I didn’t expect it would be left on the floor.
The food was great, I was able to bring my son in but if you do plan on bringing children between Fri and Sat take them before 9p. We plan on going again soon
Service was adequate..not bad but not remarkable. Food was very good, but pretty much everything on the menu is ala carte. It would be nice if they offered combo or sampler plates. Entree prices are reasonable, but after you order all your sides separately, the value plummets.
Great entertainment, energy and friendship. Food and drinks are great
The BBQ offerings are the best in town, but what really makes it a fun place for us is the extensive menu of Scotch, Irish Wiskey, and American Whiskeys. Be careful of the hot sauce. When they say hot, they're serious.
Best ribs ever, we will be back! The meat was flavorful and tender.
I booked a reservation for my birthday party for 23 people about a month in advance and updated with hostess weekly. Half my party arrived at 630pm and hostess claimed they were still putting tables and chairs together, but meanwhile I’m looking at a setup that fits at least 15. We waited for 1 hr before asking for the manager, then all of a sudden another 30 min go by and we get seated at the very same tables we were staring at all night. Once seated they got everyone’s order pretty quickly and we waited about 30 min before appetizers even came out.
The end of the night the manager claimed the hostess never told them we were all there and ready to be seated. The other waitress confessed also that they overbooked too many large parties all within 30 min of each other.
Food was large portions and decent tasting.
The BBQ Brisket and Pork were very good. I did thought the slaw was a little heavy on the vinegar. Overall it was a great dinner. The beer selection was fabulous, our out of towns friends enjoyed the evening.
