We pay tribute to the rugged individualism of Pensacola’s unique historic cultural significance, specifically its Spanish influence. Real and super-rustic, the kitchen presents Old World cookery at its roots, with all the layers peeled back. Brother Fox utilizes a live-fire approach to cooking almost everything that we serve, from coal-roasted oysters to Carne Asada for two, served with hot tortillas. Our beautiful outdoor seating sets the stage for a casual meet up with friends for a glass of wine from regions near and far, carafes of Bathtub Gin or Sangrias from the bar. Inside, the cuisine and casually elegant design are the embodiment of a “neighborhood” spot that caters to visitors and residents alike, for special occasions, celebrations, and some of the finest wood-fired cuisine in Pensacola. Imagine food with soul, both exciting and traditional, in a breezy setting, right in the heart of Old East Hill.

We enjoyed drinks at Sister Hen before our dinner at Brother Fox. All the staff were friendly and attentive, the food and drinks were delicious, and the ambiance was enjoyable. We ordered the marinated olives, patatas bravas, grilled salmon, and seafood pasta. Note: dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area.

Fabulous dinner!! Bucatini was delicious and seasoned perfectly! The charcuterie board was beautiful and the selection was curated to perfection!

So this was first time at Brother Fox.. first the restaurant is beautiful and has a very nice vibe. Came in early and had cocktails. They were amazing. Our server Lauren at our table was an awesome server and I would ask for her again. Charbroiled Oysters… amazing! Charcuterie board was very good but would have been better with crackers or toasted bread. We came planning to get Paella for 2. Flavor was amazing but the dish was a bit dry and overcooked and for price could have used a little more seafood. Also ordered glass of wine before main came and didn’t get until after we had finished meal. (I was given wine at no charge due to time it took). Overall I will encourage friends to visit and will come back again. Sister Hen was next and we had a great time there and will definitely visit again for extraordinary and well thought out crafted cocktails…

Intimate dining area and it wasn’t busy but all the parties were in one corner and we were sat at an awkward small 2 top in the middle. Our server didn’t have enough room to be walking in between our tables with that arrangement. The skirt steak for two was delicious, with a huge portion of meat. However it only came with four small tortillas, so we asked for more, and I wish weren’t charged for it. Churros seemed stale as they were hard and brittle unlike the last time we tried them.

This was our first time here, but won’t be the last. The octopus preparation was the best I’ve had in Pensacola. The oysters were large and perfectly cooked— actually seasoned, not drowned in garlic butter and cheese like some places do. The tile fish was just as described by our server, and we enjoyed it. The biggest hit for my family (including picky 8 and 9 year old boys) was the coal fired whole chicken. No kids’ menu was necessary! One of the priciest meals in town, but worth it. Parking on the street was easy at 5 p.m. on a Sunday, but I can’t speak for reservations at busier times. Thanks to several ceiling fans, the patio was comfortable, even in today’s heat (high of 92deg). The staff were all smiles and went out of their way for us, even for the kids. Lauren, our server, was perfect, with the courses timed at just the right moment; we never felt rushed, but also never had to wait between plates or refills. Our experience at Brother Fox was memorable. We’re glad to have found them on the Open Table app.

This was our first visit to Brother Fox. Sadly, the overall experience was a disappointment. We are accustomed to energetic restaurants, however the evening was chaotic. The hostess funneled guests to the bar who had yet to be seated. The noise from those gathered in the bar was so loud that we almost had to yell at one other to converse. The staff were running around in disarray. With the combination of drinks being delivered from the bar, food runners and servers, the staff were running around back and forth making it difficult to relax. It took forever to get a second round of drinks due to the "bar being backed up", according to our server. The gem lettuce salad was basic romaine, not gem lettuce, was tough and the dressing was bland. My husband had the bucatini with clams and crab. He could not detect any crab in the pasta. I ordered a filet, which was to come with broccolini. They were out of broccolini and served mixed vegetables instead. To top off the insult, I was served a skirt steak instead of a filet. The Crema Catalana "creme brulee" like dessert was runny. My husband eats chocolate desserts, and they were out of the torte. The wine upcharge was excessive and the food prices are hefty for marginal food. Some diners were in flip flops, which is fine if you aren't promoting your establishment as high-end. We dine all over the country and Europe in exceptional restaurants so we aren't novices at fine dining. The owners should take a deep dive into their operation. We won't be back.

We had the most wonderful experience at Brother Fox. Although we were unable to get into Sister Hen due to the high demand, Andrew made a sincere effort to try to make it happen for us. Our bartender and waitress were attentive and helpful. The food was flavorful and cooked impeccably. We are so excited to have another hidden gem in Pensacola. We will return many more times!

Love this restaurant I always have a great meal but last week my steak was very cold and not cooked enough for my the way I ordered it. I’m a regular and this time I was not happy. When I told my server this meal was cold I was given a credit for $20 dollars when my steak was $70. Not cool but I will go back and hope for the best . Our server was awesome and our drinks were perfect .

It was really loud and there were only 6 tables in there. The service was really slow. She tried her best but was clearly overwhelmed. The Paella had good flavor but there wasn't nearly enough seafood and no vegetables, with the exception of 5 snow peas. I think you're paying for the environment more so than the food. Yes, the food was good but not worth the price. The parking sucked. There was no clear markings for parking or the actual restaurant, so it's easy to miss the building. Lastly, when I made the reservation, they asked if it was a special occasion. It was my birthday, however no one acknowledged that. Not sure why they'd ask only to completely ignore it.
