Interesting and tasty food! Great appetizers and drinks! Always love when a bar carries ciders too!
Great food! Cons are it was pricey for standard American fare and the service was very slow. It was also cold where we were sat (next to the windows).
We were impressed! Food was terrific! Best steak tartare I’ve ever had. Burger and tacos were delicious.
First time there and will definitely go back. Food was delicious and the staff very attentive. They can accommodate large groups.
Had burger and tacos from happy hour menu. Delicious and perfect amount. Great service and fun environment. Will spread the word and come back again!
The fish tacos were delicious and the drinks were great!
We booked Brook's for a welcome lunch for our company. The server was informative as this was the first time we were there and attentive. She recommended the eggrolls and everyone was pleased. We were on time and this was a great experience for anyone looks for a good corporate lunch spot
This is a great place with delicious food and good service. It is on the pricier end--will have to try the happy hour specials.
Good selection for a casual restaurant. The menu description of your selection is quite descriptive. Food arrived in an appropriate amount of time and was served at a good temperature. Good experience for a relatively new restaurant.
Food was good server was friendly and pleasant.
We went for Sunday lunch and mostly had the place to ourselves. We started with the roasted beef eggrolls that were really surprisingly delicious. A very interesting & unique take on an Italian beef. I had a burger that was ok, not the best I ever had but not the worst. The mashed potatoes were amazing and the fries my husband got were delicious.
Wonderful menu and service. Lots of unique offerings with a twist. A very tasty twist. The pastas are decadent, fresh and delicious. The grilled wings are absolutely delicious. Everything is on par with an upscale eatery, with ample portions, enough to take home, which is rare these days, esp with small plates/high prices. The dolled up donut dessert that my friend received for her birthday was wonderful! A great place when something a little different, but not bizarre, is on the palate.
Friday night and this place was empty. We sat in the bar area at a table so our server was the bar tender. He was very energetic and knowledgeable about the place/drinks/food.
Beer selection was good. Food was a little different and pricey, Not great but not bad.
Place was very bare bones. Walls were empty of any flare or art. I know they just opened but it just felt like an empty cleaned out placed. Farmhouse feel from the painted wood paneling. Very clean just sterile feeling.
With all that said we might only return to grab a drink, the food did not have me wanting to run back.
I ordered the “chicken of the sea”, which includes seared tuna. I don’t think the salad could have had more than an ounce of tuna, as there were only four slices, each one maybe 1/8” thick. It wasn’t particularly flavorful either. The wine and beer lists had a pretty good selection, and the service was good. The brownie my group ordered to share was really tasty too, the inclusion of pretzels adding a good amount of salt and crunch to the gooey chocolate brownie. Overall, I thought my experience was good but not great.
The pork shoulder is like a deconstructed posole, it was delicious! The grilled wings were very meaty and flavorful.
Wine Extremely Expensive for a Place like this. Food needs work to be Just Average.Difficult Parking,Location does not have easy Access.
We will not be Returning.
Food was terrible, from the start of the meal we could the food was not good. Sick all night after eating there. Would not recommend this location. Proceed with causation if you dine here.
Server was friendly. Food was ok but overall lacking flavor and salt. Probably won’t go back as there are many places in the area that have better food at similar prices.
Very nice newly opened restaurant. Interesting menu.
Was a little louder than expected. Overall a great place to grab a drink and hang out!
The meatloaf and macaroni and cheese dinner was good. My husband ordered a $25 chicken dinner and it was not good.
Good food. Server was knowledgeable and atmosphere was clean and trendy.
Service was great! Food was delicious with a lot of items I had never seen on a menu before!
3rd time there..service this time not so good..but the food was great..will go back...
We are fans of Ellyns and Warrens Tap. This place is great with a different kind of menu. I loved the fish tacos! Only comment, they are using a side area for parties. We listened to loud laughing off and on thru the stay. We will come again for the food and service
Brooks recently opened in the past few weeks and we were so pleasantly surprised with the quality of the service and the food. The interior was also very beautiful. The cocktail list was fun and imaginative as was the food menu. I had the lobster grilled cheese and mashed potatoes, truly the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. My husband had the gnocchi bolognese and LOVED it. We have already recommended to friends and can't wait to come back.
It's nice to try, and we tried them out three times to really give it a try. Nothing WOW'ed us. Price is a bit high as well. Chairs are not that comfortable. Management seems nice. Our server did not know about an appetizer we were inquiring about, claimed she never tried it if it was at the tasting she had during training.
I've been to Ellyn's and Warren's many times and enjoyed both. Brooks is being marketed as a more upscale version of those places. I asked a work colleague to lunch and suggested we try it. Ugh. I was so embarrassed. The dining room environment is very stark and cheap looking. The waitress looked like a refugee from a biker bar (she was pleasant though). And the food...totally mediocre. My bacon caesar salad had no discernible amount of dressing and a few sad pieces of pork belly. The "croutons" were two pieces of stale toast. My dining companion didn't say a word about her dish, and I was afraid to ask. To add to the lack of ambiance, another diner had a very loud cell phone convo going ON SPEAKER. It was unbelievably annoying and I couldn't understand why the wait staff didn't ask for him to either turn it off or take it elsewhere. I had such high hopes for this place. It's close to our office and hoped it could become a "go-to" lunch spot. Very disappointing experience.
Was there one week prior. My wife and I were doing errands and both of us wanted to go back even though we had a meal to eat at home. We both had the chicken and rice soup which was a special of the day which was amazingly tasty. She had the Burrata and I had the smoked salmon and bagel. We had the bananas foster dessert. There is too much on this menu that we like. We will of course be back.
We really loved the remodel of what was a dark older restaurant. The new look is brighter and contemporary. Sturdy comfortable seating (at regular tables) and plenty of it without being crammed. The menu is great! Things that you have heard of or had before, but everything with a twist or something added to make it special and new. Drinks were pricy but very well crafted. My brother in law beer aficionado approved of the beer list. Everything looked and tasted great! Service was friendly and informative. It took a little long st times, but I would chalk that up to us eating with two squirmy children to which the staff was wonderful! They even brought their entrees out early. Otherwise, if it were a table if adults chatting, no one would have cared.
great food and service..tried several items..try the beef egg rolls as an appetizer..and the gnocchi dish..fantastic..looking forward to going back...
Really impressed with the food. Love the bar area. The two drinks that I had were wonderful; the filthy cherry and the Kentucky peach. My wife did a flight of white wine which she enjoyed. I had the pork shoulder for my meal which was awesome. Could not stop eating it to even take a sip of my drink as the food was so good. My wife had the chicken of the sea salad which she loved. The top two desserts are amazing. Probably the most satisfying desserts we’ve ever had and we’ve been to a lot of places with quite a bit of desserts. Will definitely be back as the table next to us had the burgers and the Baja tacos and those looked equally good although I am very pleased again with my pork shoulder.
Large space that can accommodate groups. Also large tv screens great for sports but kind of strange when no sports are on. Waitress was very nice but long gaps of time between getting drinks, app, dinner, check especially since the restaurant was practically empty of patrons. They just opened so hiccups are to be expected in the kitchen.
Had and overall nice evening at Brooks Kitchen & Tap. Our dinner was one the Saturday after their official Tuesday opening. The place was about 1/3 full for that Saturday night. Nothing on the walls, yet, but I don’t know if that is the plan or just early in the opening process. My wife and I each ordered the onion soup and then shared the crispy Burrata and a Butter Burger. We had to send back the burger because it was undercooked, but they made it right. Everything tasted great. I would have liked more toast wit the burrata, but small issue. The best part was the service by Korrie. She clearly was experienced and showed that through her attentive service without being intrusive. We’ll definitely go back.
Bar service was horrible....had to wait 15 minutes for a draft to be poured and the restaurant was only 1/4 full. The waiter apologized each time he came to the table because the drinks were late. Spoke with someone who we thought was a manager (he had a full beard) and his personality was about as dry as the Mohave Desert. Food was good, with good options, but the tacos ended up giving me heartburn, which I haven't had in about 6 months.
Sat at the bar waiting for my business associates, the staff was so personable. Our waitress Nicole was dynamite. We all had the sea bass, so tasty and moist, would definitely have it again.
Smart choice if you’re looking for some craft beer with some delicious, high-end food! There was plenty of unique choices with a great ambiance, service was stellar too! 👌🏼 I’ll definitely be back!!!!
