Brooklyn Heights Wine Bar
Loved the shrimp scampi and the fondue special. Sangria for happy hour was also great and our waiter was incredibly helpful and willing to give recommendations. I wish I remembered his name!
Great environment and the food was amazing.
Wonderful, casual neighborhood restaurant. Excellent wine menu.
Lunch for my wife was an outstanding beet salad and, for me, a very simple salad, just bibb lettuce and their homemade dressing consisting of olive oil and champagne vinegar plus we shared a baked brie appetizer .... everything was delicious !! Their wine list is huge with a number of very reasonable priced wines by the glass but they have only 2 beers tap. We will definitely return.
one of my fave neighborhood hangouts - good food, service and lovely ambience.
Another of those places that looks okay-ish at first acquaintance but delights you as the meal (lunch) progresses. This was a great example of the common thing done uncommonly well. Goats cheese salad and prawns with chorizo and garlic sound fairly generic. In fact they were marvellous. Top of the heap! Fantastic! The draft ale slaked a well earned thirst on a hot day and the merlot was a fine follow up.
The staff were very friendly and solicitous (good to meet a County Meath man in Brooklyn).
Great dinner with a small group of friends. Love this spot. Wine list to fit all tastes.
Delicious smoked salmon dish and shrimp with chorizo dish. Gracious service. Small, cozy restaurant. A few minute's walk from the Brooklyn Bridge. We walked to the restaurant from Manhattan.
Delish meal. Great service. Appreciated the wine recommendations and tasting.
Cute neighborhood gem. Great brunch menu. Excellent service.
Nice quaint place for a snowy date night. The staff was hospitable and welcoming. Many fine selections of wine from various regions, and the dinner was delicious. We look forward to returning soon!
I'm longtime patron and fan of Brooklyn Heights Wine Bar, and on a chilly Friday evening it did not disappoint. Our server was busy but was attentive when we needed; the food was just right, and the wine list, as always, was stellar. I love that their by-the glass options are also offered as a half-carafe, including the Medoc that was the special that night.
Cozy spot / friendly staff / creative menu. The execution on the specials we had was fair to midland, not as tasty as hoped, but charcuterie /cheese options are lovely and wines / drinks delicious as well. We'll be back.
Great Experience. Service food and the atmosphere was great.
We’re new to Brooklyn, so we’re trying out restaurants in the neighborhood. Brooklyn Heights Wine Bar is quaint little (many 10 tables and a bar) neighborhood spot. Delicious wines, yummy food, and overall good vibe!
A group of five of us went to this restaurant for dinner. It was a great setting for us to chat and socialize. Dinner was great and the wine was amazing!
Such a cute quant wine bar. Service was awesome! Bartender was awesome! Food was awesome! I’ll definitely be back!
For the second year in a row, booked a table with some writer friends after the Brooklyn Book Festival. Thanks Open Table for pointing it out to us. The food is excellent. Good cocktail, wine and beer list. Our waitress was friendly, fun and informative. Definitely a gem in the neighborhood.
I had Mac ‘n Cheese which was just right and my friend had the chicken- again very enjoyable. Wine was reasonably priced. The environment is warmer and more inviting than it looks in photo.
Arrived at opening on Sun 11A. Solid breakfast/brunch fare and wine/cocktails. Small space but it has become a true neighborhood gem and go-to venue re drinks/eats/get-togethers (for both locals and tourists).
Great menu and service. Making a reservation was a very good idea for this small spot.
The service was absolutely horrible. We ordered appetizers and wine and our entrees were brought out before we received our wine. Our server forgot the wine that we ordered twice and had to come over to the table multiple times for reminders. That said, the food was good, but we will not be returning back here. The food is not worth the terrible service we received.
Great place to drop in for a quick drink or bite to eat
Charming spot. But the food was just average. We had the grass fed burger. The patty looked like a pre fab version and was not cooked as we ordered it. The cheese - gruyere- was like cardboard. Doubt we’ll return.
Happy hour may be a better option. We’d try it again for a second chance if we lived in the area.
Can't believe I've lived in Brooklyn this long and missed this gem. Got there early and friendly waitperson seated me immediately. Food was delicious--lots of dishes with cheese--and my wine-collecting friend was dazzled by the unique selections. Will definitely be back.
The wait staff was attentive and quite pleasant. Overall the food was good (I would not recommend the very citrus heavy guacamole). I’d come back again for a casual night out.
The food was very good (outside of the fig jam which, for my taste, was much more figgy than jammy) and the wine selection lovely. The fact that we had to ask for water multiple times wasn't great, but not a deal breaker. What is, tough, is a rude server, which ours was. He had nice-ish moments, but when you get a customer's order wrong and proceed to blame the customer, you're in the wrong field.
Was in the neighborhood for the annual book festival and had been tasked by friends to find a place (reasonable) to have dinner after. This is why I love Open Table, I now have a new favorite in the Heights. Staff was friendly, warm and inviting. They shared their favorites on the menu. To a good tee, everyone was happy with their picks. The frisée salad and the risotto stood out. The one able finished up with the house special mud pie and spoons for all!
Good place to stop by if you in the area. Good list of wine.
Very accommodating and understanding staff and the food was delicious. Definitely will visit again.
Much appreciated the excellent service.
Lovely night at the Wine Bar! Delicious food, modest portions, but overall excellent!
Impressive wine list, wine served just right, very friendly helpful staff and very tasty food
We live two blocks away and always see people in here (groups, dates, friends, family, solo, etc) so we decided to try it. The food is delicious (I'm a picky eater, so the menu wasn't for me, but that's totally on me. My husband LOVED it), the ambiance is very cute and warm, and the wine list is great. It has a small neighborhood feel but has people from all over coming to dine here.
My boyfriend and I had a nice Valentine's Day dinner here. The food was delicious, and the staff was very attentive and friendly, even comping us a glass of wine when they accidentally brought the wrong one at first. I just wish we had known it was a fixed menu! The regular sounds so interesting.
We went for a pre-theater lunch on the strength of the reviews and were disappointed. It's a wine bar, and I had to ask for a wine list. There were some delicious-sounding specials on a chalk board, but they weren't available to us because there were only serving the brunch menu. My smoked salmon eggs Benedict were delicious. I could have hoped for better service and a more varied menu.
Went for New Year's Eve. No mention of a prix fix menu, then confronted with a mandatory one. Appetizer was mediocre at best (both ordered lobster bisque). We also both ordered the 'filet mignon.' It was a roast cut and it was served absolutely ice cold. We both sent them back to be heated up. The side was a thoughtless frisée with almonds. Dessert was dry and also mediocre.
Will never be visiting this restaurant again. Legitimately ruined my holiday.
Service was very slow but the food was great and the staff was very nice
Visited for an early Saturday night dinner after walking the Brooklyn Bridge. Very hospitable services. Nice selection of wines and craft cocktails. Food was very good as well. We enjoyed the crostini, chicken paillard salad and the burger.
Great place for lunch or brunch in one the best areas of Brooklyn
