Pastrami was dry and hard to chew.
Servers sort of out of it. Had to ask more than once for a fork, water refill, ketchup for our burgers.
Great location, good food, and quintessential NY delicatessen reliquaries!
Convenient midtown location
Worst dinner I have ever eaten at. A tourist trap. Marginal food and overpriced.
We were looking for a quaint afternoon stop for burgers and a milk shake. Found it!! Loved the music and the overall comfortable 'vibe.'!
The service was impeccable. The food was good, but a bit overpriced. But, hey, this is Manhattan. And in the restroom was mouthwash. I've never seen that before! How thoughtful!!!
Good food, excellent service, great fun. What a joy to find a restaurant like this in the middle of Manhattan.
Good lunch spot
The wait was minimal thanks to open table!
Destination incontournable pour qui veut manger dans un décor typiquement à l’américaine. Attention à l’addition qui peut vite s’envoler...
Location was convenient, atmosphere was delightful. We went for breakfast - best cup of coffee I have ever had service was very attentive.
Seats very small and close together. Food is VERY overpriced even for NYC.
Pastrami sandwich was very fatty. Chicken soup delicious
Recommended by a local, we wanted a real Pastrami sandwich and this one was delicious. Fun atmosphere and excellent service. We will return!
Great friendly service, food was fantastic, just what you'd expect an American Diner to be. Very atmospheric, service was quick.
Everything was fantastic, from the courteous host upon arrival, to the server and the food, we were there for Easter Sunday brunch so had breakfast, cocktails and cheesecake (which was amazing) Music was great wish I could have downloaded the playlist. I really can't say enough good things about the Brooklyn Diner.
Fabulous service. Very friendly. Great home cooked food. We went for brunch and dinner. Both times excellent
Good food and service. Gets crowded. Pricey.. about $20 an entre
Hubby in fact all the staff were very nice. We were in & out in less than an hour. Would come back again if we’re looking for fast friendly service & simple but good food.
Visiting NYC and needed a casual quick place to eat after a long day of playing tourist. Brooklyn Diner hit the spot.
Perfect before Carnegie, the Brooklyn diner knows it’s audience. Keep it simple: excellent burgers, sandwiches. It hits its stride with wonderful soups: terrific split pea ( with slices of frankfurters as a surprise!), and huge bowls of chicken soup. We had their perfect plate. ( hummus, salad stuff ) with blackened salmon; delicious Cuban chicken . Only disappointment was fish tacos. Oh, save room for the rugelach! Relatively quiet and oh so close to Carnegie!
Easy time, good food and good stuff. My kid enjoyed the amazing hot dog
Excellent food !
After reading so many mixed reviews about the Brooklyn diner, I finally decided to give it a try.
It was great. Ambiance was fabulous. Yes, it’s expensive....but it was also delicious. And everything in New York is expensive.
Plates were warm, coffee was quickly refilled without having to ask, the poached eggs were poached, not cooked in those little cups. Bacon was a too tough to eat. That was disappointing. But the sausage patties were excellent.
Place was so much smaller than expected. Hard to sit a party of five. One of us had to sit in the aisle. Fairly loud.
They were ready for us when we arrived about 5 mins early.
A bit pricey but it is NYC.
We had a really nice experience here. Our waiter, Carlos, was attentive, polite, funny and fast. He was exceptional. The food was terrific too. Good burger, pastrami sandwich, and pot pie. The 15 bite hot dog was incredible! We had two amazing deserts; the coconut cake and the strawberry cheesecake. Both were exceptional. As a city dweller, I've come to expect fresh-cut fries from a place with this level of food and that was the one area where they fell short. That's really nit-picky, huh?
The food was delicious, better than I expected!! I will be back. This is a great place to eat before Carnegie Hall and City Center.
Mostly excellent deli food especially kugel. Good location but a bit over priced.
It was nice for a girls nyc trip . Jerry Seinfeld was there
The diner boasts about being authentic and diverse but is actually an awful representation of the foods it attempts to present. Both myself and the person I dined with were extremely unsatisfied and were ripped off in the process. Not worth it and would not return if you paid me.
This place is amazing!!! We went for breakfast and it was so good we went back for lunch!!! Service fantastic, food amazing, great ambience and the diner is so beautiful inside. So glad we found this gem!!
Always a great place to visit and eat. Very awesome to see the same waiter from 17 years ago!
Great breakfast and wonderful sevice.
Great place to eat near Carnegie Hall. Highly recommend.
Always the food is delicious but the service it was so slow
Really enjoyed the experience, however our table was in the walkway, and getting bumped and beat up by the serving staff and other patrons was less than enjoyable. Food was good, expensive but it is NYC and we were on a vacation expecting to pay a little more for the simpler things.
Very noisy. Booths for 2 are too cramped. No place to hang a coat.
But food and service were great!
It's a diner- it was fun!
Fun place, food good but server was so sloooooow! A good pour!
Nothing special with high prices for what you get. Okay if you feel the need to dine in a dinner setting. Otherwise, you can fo better elsewhere.
