Came here after visiting the aquarium. Really wanted crab.
Was served crab that appeared to have been pre-boiled. When it was brought to the table, it was delivered in metal bowl that covered with a wood bowl that was to serve as the trash bowl for the crab legs (i.e. it was not in a typical bowl for seafood boil). The server did not remove the wood bowl from the metal bowl, so i removed it. The food was NOT steaming hot. It was just warm.
i couldn't dig in because i was not served the bib and utensils; they were served about a minute later once the server realized he had forgotten them.
by the time i was 1/3 way through my food it was cold. yuck. will not go here again.
the ambiance was fantastic though. the food was overpriced and really the worst seafood i've had in recent memory.
Place has fun atmosphere but value for food is not there. Fish and chips were disappointing. My friend didn't eat it bc the fish is too thick and didn't taste very fresh. Got the pot for 2. It was about $100 market price and only came with one lobster and some crab legs and some corn. Definitely did not seem worth the price. It doesn't want to make me come back. Overprice for quality and value of food. Disappointing.
I had the crab cake. It was delicious, very generous on the crab meat, and tasted fresh.
The staff are very friendly attentive, although they had a few large groups to attend to, including a table of 24!
I would like to try it during the summer on an afternoon.
There was no dinner. We spent 30 dollars to get there, and the restaurante was closed! It was an insult! The restaurant simply act like nothing happened, and sent us no message even to apologize. I really hope that no one else have to go through this like we did.
the casual ambiance is clean and the food delicious. the price is quite reasonable and you should leave you at least two hours dor dinner or lunch to eat and enjoy. I was very well surprised with the quality of food and drinks as well as with the friendly service.
The oysters were so fresh yum!!!!! Service was kind of poor. Food took a while to come. Food was a little pricey but I’m not complaining. Ambience was excellent, excellent place for photos. By the water too! Overall, it was okay. I’d come again.
Good food, had a good time. Thanks! We heard about this place and had to see for ourselves. Looking forward to going back.
Great food, slightly overpriced but delicious. The service was sub par at best.
The food, as usual was very good. I love their crab.
The service however was pretty lousy. We sat upstairs on a Friday night and it was not that busy.
Got there for an 8:30 reservation and our waitress seemed solid to start off with, but as the night progressed we felt invisible.
We were sat in a far corner (which is fine by us as our group of 4 tends to be a little noisy) but were rarely checked in on.
Crab came to the table and we were not given any crackers. After about 5 - 10 minutes I got up and went over to a busser and asked if they could bring us some crackers for the crab. He brought over 2 and there were 4 of us.
I asked him if he could grab 2 more and they never came. We shared the 2 crackers for about half the meal and then our waitress came over with the 2 missing crackers I'd estimate about 15 minutes after the food hit the table. - she was nice, just inattentive, which is strange because it didn't seem that busy.
The food selection was exactly what we were looking for. Started with shrimp cocktail appetizer which was plenty for our party of five. Three of us had snow crab, which was cooked perfectly, also ordered crab cakes , and the Brooklyn steampot. All the food was tasty and plentiful.
Brooklyn Crab is always incredible. It’s a splurge night, but it is worth it. The service is always great and fast!
Very good service. Great environment and great food. Definitely worth checking out.
The waiter/bartender never came to take our order we had to get the menus ourselves and then go up to him to place the order. Then went back to him to tell him that we were ready to pay . Despite that though the food was sooo good and the putt putt area was fun , I'd still come back for more.
Spot is awesome but the food was nearly inedible and expensive to boot. Our fried clams were decent so we all basically filled up on those and left out various other dishes untouched.
Nice place for an evening dinner with family. A little expensive.. but every now and then, it's a nice spot with nice views and good food.
Very high fat and carb menu......
Service is great
Brooklyn Crab!!!!!!
I have gone to Brooklyn Crab from the very beginning, but I have notice of the last 2 or 3 years the service of the staff had really dropped , prior to this dinner the last one the wait staff who was a black young man , continued to address me as “ma” I know it’s black street slang , but I thought , this is not the place. This visit was really one that made me just decide not to dine here again, upon arriving , we were told we could not sit at the table until the other party arrived who was literally around the corner , we asked if we could go upstairs and upon getting there the young lady had walkie talkie the young man for us. to not be seated , we asked if we could sit and get a drink and we were told we could sit at another table a 2 too till our other guest arrives but not the one we have reserved , because they were trying to make sure all the staff there have efficient working systems. basically saying if we sit and the other person doesn’t show it makes a bad work environment for the staff. I thought this is crazy , while there were many tables free , we could sit down. So we went down stairs and waited for my other guest. I find when 2 nicely dressed-women carrying 7 to 10 thousands dollars Hermès hand bags. make a reservation, the least could have been done was allow us to sit and drink at our table everybody dining at Brooklyn crab isn’t a hipster or local . After alll that waiting the table wasn’t completely set. I just spent 5 weeks in Italy and the wait staff in every bar and restaurant were exceptionally accommodating , even in Sicily. That was my last time dining in the establishment. I tipped the waiter 20% not that he was fabulous at his job. I don’t want to hear about people personal lives when I am in a place of business I want to know about the food sell me the food and not just the drinks. I said nothing to the staff. and I thank you for an eye opening experience.
Wow, fishy seafood and bad service, but the view was beautiful.
Always love the Brooklyn crab! No-frills, great food, awesome service.
This was the first time I had been to this restaurant. The food was great. I think there may have been a little confusion as to where our table was because they sent us upstairs only to send us back downstairs. Other than that, the food was great!
Mediocre food which is over priced given the poor quality and presentation. Location and “sea shack” ambience misses opportunity to be a fun place.
Perfection food is great ambiance is great ... what else can you ask for
Great place to go, definitely worth the effort to travel to from Manhattan, really quirky.
Good food and the service was fantastic.
Jesse was our waiter and he couldn’t of been any better or more helpful if he tried. A++++
our waitress was very attentive and prompt. Tthe food delicious. One suggestion : they should make it clear upfront that the specials are only if u sit at the bar. The pictures of beer were extremely expensive, also the liquor. The sceanery was absolutely wonderful. Bathroom. needed work.
Absolutely love here! Great summer spot and the staff is so friendly. Holds a lot of space for bigger families and smaller events down to you and a special someone :)
Brooklyn Crab was great! The food is a bit pricey, but worth the splurge for a special occasion. Casual ambiance and the views are amazing. There’s no AC, and wish I had known before taking my parents from out of town. We took the ferry and walked about 10 blocks to the restaurant only to find no repreive from the heat. Other than that it was an enjoyable experience.
Great food. The waiter was off his game. It seemed like he was less than pleased to serve us. He served others gaylee but looked like he dredged coming to our table. Not sure if it was because I'm in a wheelchair.
Overall I was pleased with the experience. We had the Brooklyn royals with various crab legs and a whole lobster. Crab legs were amazing... The only issue was the lobster was over cooked. Drinks were good. View was great even though it was overcast. I would definitely go back for the crab legs.
REALLY overpriced for what you get. 25$ for a crab roll with potato chips. Not nearly enough crab for the $ and any additional sides you are charged for. ....even the coleslaw is extra.
The place has a bit of a frat house feel to it. There are games on the ground floor, good to keep your kids occupied while you wait for a table. We had a reservation on a Friday evening and we chose to sit in the main dining area on the top floor, which had an amazing view of the Statue of Liberty. The food was okay. I ordered the shrimp po boy and my sister had the fish and chips and we also shared an order of the calamari and jalapeno cornbread. The cornbread was very dense, more like a cake texture and not as spicy as I was expecting with the jalapeno. I've had better calamari- it could have used more seasoning. The po boy was pretty good but the fish was so heavily fried and oily that she wound up just peeling the fried layer off and eating the fish. I think this is a cool place to grab drinks or a light meal after work or on a weekend if you don't mind waiting.
Very good service
What a view!
I strongly recommend that restaurant
Their Cajun option isnt a liquid with spices its just old bay poured on the top and i mean literally poured . their garlic butter was amazing so i made my own liquid dipping sauce . got one small dungess crab in my pot like 2 legs musscles weee not open and corn was hard but the atmosphere was amazong so i enjoyed and im a natural seafood lover so i didnt mind the no seasoning it was a great place and my drink was amazing so was my server so it was great!!
Great service, fun ambiance in upstairs deck
We had an awesome time! Kid friendly and fun for adults too!
Great service, seafood was unbelievable and the scenery wonderful.
Even in the very hot weather we had a great time. Nice breeze and view.
Literally the best! Staff is super friendly and every dish is out of this world. Highly recommended: Snow crab legs, crab cakes, oysters and Brussels sprouts!
I had a delicious octopus. It wasn't really hot but it was quite well seasoned and tasty. Daughter & husband had crab rolls and 15granddaughter had a corn dog.
We enjoyed watermelon lemonade and iced tea because we were planning to ride bikes.
There was some confusion over our granddaughter's order but the server took care of it.
We enjoyed our time there, we weren't rushed, though there were quite a few people celebrating graduations. I would go again.
