Brooklyn Cafe Ratings and Reviews
This lively restaurant never disappoints. It is our neighborhood gem and go to place when we have friends and family to visit. The food, wine/drinks, service and ambiance are outstanding. We were lucky on this trip as there was a special lobster stuffed with lobster and crab meat in a light sauce on the menu. Delicious!
One of my favorite restaurants. Our server was fabulous. The only negative is ever time I come, I feel like the hostess is annoyed with us - even with reservations I felt like we are in the way. I've heard if you are not a regular then it is hard to get a table. We only waited a couple of minutes for our table but felt like we were imposing. Maybe we just need to become one of BC's VIPs! Otherwise, LOVE this place!
I have always liked this spot as a great local spot with good food, value, and atmosphere. Was there for a birthday event with friends, 5 in our party. We had brought wine to celebrate the event, and as a group of wine collectors, were fairly special bottles. The restaurant had always been great in the past about accommodating corkage for wine brought in. We were informed upon arrival that the they had changed their policy a week ago and only allowed one bottle of wine per table to be brought in, no exceptions. We had already purchased one bottle from the restaurant before we were apprised of this change. Despite, that, and our willingness to pay a corkage fee. They refused and we left the restaurant and went elsewhere. Very poorly handled by the restaurant, and will not be going back - they lost at least five good customers in the process of this very bad example of customer service.
Very tasty food, very quickly made! The menu is seafood centric, but choices for meat eaters a delicious and very satisfying. If you are looking for that loud New York vibe, you can check that box here. The service was great and this is definitely worth the drive. We cannot wait to return!
Four friends celebrating with 'Birthday Girl' choosing restaurant. We were all pleased she chose Brooklyn Cafe. The appetizers are so fine that three of us chose 2 appetizers instead of a main entree. I even brought some delicious smoked salmon home and shared with a neighbor at cocktail time the next night!
The bar tender was great. I did not know which wine to order so he gave me a sampling of 3 to help me choose. The bar tenders are very friendly. The restaurant is very loud. The tables are on the perimeter of the room, not much ambiance. The outside patio is on the street. The food was very good. I had the grouper and my husband the short ribs. I would recommend they add some more appetizer type foods to the menu. It was very limited. Overall a good experience and we will be back.
The atmosphere is friendly, as is the wait staff. The smoked salmon is THE Best I have ever had - bar none! The restaurant is small which lends to the ambiance - but make sure you get a reservation (lunch or dinner) as it is always packed. Always wonderful!
We come here often but they seem to be a little stuck in their ways when it comes to the food. I atmosphere is great and the waitstaff is usually excellent. The specials are usually underwhelming and the food is getting boring. The food is more comfort food vs fresh and healthy. They cook with a ton of butter and it’s heavy on the meat and potato side. They don’t ever have green vegetables at all as specials or on the menu. So much potential, I just think they have become complacent. Fresh, farm to table, healthy and gourmet are the new comfort foods. This place could step to a whole new level if they wanted to.
