   My wife and I live in New Albany and decided, finally, to give Brooklyn and the Butcher a try. It was our 30th wedding anniversary so we decided to go upscale a bit. We were immediately seated by a friendly host team. Neither of drink alcohol so we decided to order mocktails which were delicious. We noticed they put a small happy anniversary card on our table which was a thoughtful gesture. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. We shared the chicken entree and ordered a lot of the, abundant, sides agreeing the local mushrooms were our favorite:) For an upscale dining experience I thought the price was reasonable and the experience was super nice. Thanks Brooklyn and the Butcher fir a lovely anniversary dinner:)

   Such a nice experience! The service was well-paced, we never felt rushed, and really allowed us to enjoy our night out. The food was also very good. It's a place we'll be adding to our nice night out rotation for sure.

   Food was good and as expected. Decor was amazing and very tasteful. Service though was a major failure. Rushed to the point we had to ask the waiter to stop walking away and listen so we could order, apps. Then again for main course. Then again for desert. Ugh. Totally missed that this was a birthday celebration as he was too busy rushing off and ruined the experience. If you’re going to charge me top dollar for a meal, at least take the time to listen to my order and then come by to see if we need anything and that all come out correctly. Again, food was good but the service was just horrible. Sadly, better and closer places at this price point

    Everything was very tasty. There was an issue with our steak and they corrected it satisfactorily. I would definitely recommend it. Beautiful restaurant too.

    Food was brought out cold, burnt filet. Second time our food was brought out my husbands was great, however my food was not. The wrong steak, bloody potatoes, cold broccoli. So we ask they bring me a filet as I had originally ordered, I was so over this place and waitress I asked them to just box up my filet! Glad I didn’t look at it then because I would have went off!!! They advertise a 7oz filet, this was more like 2 oz and burnt on the ends. I will never go back to this place! Maybe had the waitress was more attentive instead of back behind the bar chatting and on the computer, it could have possibly been a good time. They did comp our food which was the least they could do!!!

    We went at a late Valentines date. We had great service. Jacob I believe was our servers name. We had the charcuterie board as a starter. It was fine. I was not blown away by it but it wasn't terrible either. For our main courses my wife had the crab pasta. The flavor was very good on it but the portion just seemed very small, especially for a $30 pasta dish. I had the ribeye with a side of Brussel sprouts. The steak was good. Ordered it medium rare and it was spot on but it seemed a little too charred on the outside. It wasn't terrible but just didn't blow me away like other steakhouses I've been too. The brussel sprouts were the start of the show in my opinion. They were very good. All in all I don't think I'll be back. I feel like for the price of the steak I'll be just as happy with a ribeye from Outback for half the price.

    Worst steak that I have had in a long time. NY strip was fatty and tough. Hard to achieve both. Would have sent it back if I had time.

    I ordered my steak medium and it was extra well done. Our server was not very professional. My guest’s did not enjoy his food. Said it didn’t have much flavor. Very disappointing because we have been to Brooklyn and the Butcher before. We have always enjoyed dining there. We drive all the way from Bardstown, KY. It was not a very good experience. We were celebrating my Birthday. The server ask us about dessert. We declined. She then brought out 4 chocolate covered strawberries. They looked like they had been leftover from the previous day, Valentines.

    DO NOT WEAR JEANS! They will put you in the dark basement. Was the thinnest 12 ounce ribeye, I have ever had. My wife enjoyed her filet. Hence the two stars. I would have attached a photo but was too dark!

    Amazing Valentines Dinner, as always. We drive 45 minutes from home to visit Brooklyn and the Butcher several times a year for special occasions. We haven’t had a bad meal yet!

    I was a little disappointed in the food, our pasta came out room temperature, the goat cheese dip had a little too much lemon flavor in it for my taste, and the cauliflower appetizer seemed like it lacked flavor. The drinks were stellar, and service very good.

    Valentines dinner. We sat in a quiet romantic spot under the bar in a small basement like setting. It was a little chilly, but there were some space heaters. It was my first time, food was good. Server was sweet, but didn’t read us specials that I heard other server suggesting to her guest. She asked every 5 minutes if we were ok and needed anything, which got a little exhausting. I also ordered the ny strip “meal” under the butcher that came with broccoli and whipped potatoes, but since I wanted the twice baked, she rang everything up separate and got a lot more money out of us instead of a small up-charge for swapping potato choice. This also didn’t include peppercorn brandy sauce I would have originally gotten with what I had ordered. The food was just ok, sadly I had very high expectations. I will stick to my cut next time and get a filet. The Tuna tartare was TO DIE FOR and the lobster bisque was very good. And I’d go back for the Brussels sprouts alone!

    We went for an early Valentine’s Day, my husband got the porterhouse, which he said was very good. I got the filet and it was very bland. However the first time we visited a few years ago was much better.

    Raeanne did a magnificent job serving me. I enjoyed the Caesar salad with anchovies, the ribeye and the charred broccoli. In addition, I also enjoyed a few cocktails, all well made. Finished the evening with a glass of port. Will return in the future.

    McKenzie was our server and did a wonderful job. She recommended the Valentines pasta dish and it did not disappoint. It was very good. The manager Hannah is always very sweet and checked on us to make sure everything was good. The staff is a big part of why we always return! The food is good as well.

    There was hair inside one of the lamb meatballs. Kind of a meal killer when you hit hair. The rest of the food was ok and the waiter was nice. Drinks were great.
