Brooklyn and the Butcher
My friends and I were greeted seated promptly upon arrival. I rated the noise level as low because there were only two more parties in this part of the restaurant. Our server was prompt and friendly. My drink was the best I’ve had anywhere, so I ordered two! The steak was cooked medium rare as requested. What I didn’t care for was the overdone seasoning on it. Had I known this much pepper would be used I would have requested none. I scraped off the pepper layer but it was still a little strong. I didn’t request another steak because I didn’t want to have to wait while my friends were eating. The loaded potato was average in size and flavoring. The brussel sprouts were fantastic! Also the cheesecake was delicious. The prices for the steaks weren’t bad but $8 for an average tasting/sized potato wasn’t right. I won’t return for just any dinner but perhaps a special occasion.
Sunday Brunch was absolutely delicious! Everything I had was amazing!
Another great night spent at the Butcher! The steaks were awesome as always. The service was amazing, thank you Lauren you are the best!!! Finished the meal with a slab of carrot cake that melted I'm my mouth. Thanks again for a great evening.
Atmosphere was great, food was even better! Our sever was fantastic!
We came here for my father-in-law’s birthday and he absolutely loved it! The atmosphere, Service, drink/food options, Everything was amazing!
This is a special occasion place. I do wish the price was a little cheaper so we could make this a weekly dinner stop but quality over quantity. We spent a little over $300 for 4 people (after tip but we expected that).
Overall: Will definitely do it again
A little pricey but the service was wonderful!
Excellent food and service. The room got a little noisy when more people came in after 8 PM. We will return, probably at an earlier time.
Excellent brunch! Great selection of buffet items plus made to order omelets and waffles. Terrific value for the price.
We enjoyed sunday brunch. Loved the szlmon and salad dressing
This was a great place to have brunch! What a hidden gem. We will definitely be back for both brunch and dinner.
It was fun.
Our experience at Brooklyn and The Butcher was fantastic! My steak was absolutely perfect! I loved the atmosphere and the craft cocktails were top notch and very creative! The only slight negative is that it is a little pricey to go back frequently, but will definitely go back for special occasions or just for a special cocktail. Very lovely place and I would highly recommend!
It was our first visit to Brooklyn and The Butcher after a couple of friends recommended it. It was perfect for a special occasion. We had a card in our table wishing us a happy anniversary and they brought truffles to us for dessert to celebrate our special day. We’ll definitely be back!
Great food, great service, great ambience. But it ain’t cheap. Most things are a la carte and the prices are pretty steep.
Always a great experience here and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our dinner and loved the autumn old fashioned.
Made a reservation for my birthday. When my husband and I were greeted, my birthday was acknowledged immediately. I had half a dozen oysters, which were divine. Then my husband and I each had a steak and shared the mashed potatoes. It was very tasty. Since I am not a big sweets eater, the server brought 2 chocolate covered strawberries out for my birthday dessert. We also indulged in the Autumn Old Fashion, and wow! We each had 2 with dinner. Loved it!! The place is super cute, and we never venture to New Albany. We will definitely make a return.
Every bite delicious and perfectly prepared. Our server was Lauren , she knows her wine and was a delight ❣️
Everything was great! Food , service and the experience
From start to finish a wonderful dinner experience. Hostess was friendly and helpful - waitress was attentive but not overbearing and atmosphere was quiet and beautiful. Very good!
The brunch is wonderful. About it is exactly what you want in a branch and more.
Food was delicious, service and atmosphere was great. We really enjoyed it!
My wife and I have been having a date night at least 1 night a month. We some vary our choices between casual to fine dinning. We have just added Brooklyn and the Butcher to our favorites ! I would rate the atmosphere, service and food among the best of the best in this area.
New Albany is very lucky to have a restaurant that can hang with the best of Southern Indiana and Louisville. We had the scallops as an appetizer, I had the smoke house salad and my wife had the Caesar salad, we split the Porterhouse steak (24 oz plenty for sharing). We should have stopped there but the carrot cake sound awesome and well it was.
Congratulations to Brooklyn and the Butcher got establishing a wonderful dinning experience.
The food was great as usual they accommodated my allergies without hesitation. Our waiter Chesley was amazing and very attentive. There is never a bad meal there because I’ve never had one.
Steaks and chops were done right but the oysters were the best
This was our second experience and although the food and the server were both good the overall service was lacking for the price range. The first time it took an exceptionally long time to get our food, over 45 minutes.
This time they were out of the Rack of Lamb. Unfortunately we were not told that until we ordered. Apparently they are in the process of a menu change. It would have been better to mark it unavailable on the menu. The appetizers were exceptional. We had the Oysters Rockafeller and the Tuna Tartare.
One of our guests ordered the ribeye with the parmesian crust topping. The topping was dry and the ribeye was lacking in flavor. I ordered the small plate scallops and they were very good as well as the rizzoto it was paired with but there were only 2 scallops. At $18 I expected 3.
Recommending it to friend for now is more likely a maybe.
Brooklyn and the Butcher was wonderful. We had an early reservation, 5pm, and were the only people in there for at least the first 15 minutes. Our waiter was wonderful and very attentive. We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer and they were the best that I had ever had. I got the 6oz filet. It was delicious, but I would not say that it was worth the pricetag. I would recommend this restaurant.
My friends barely ate their dinner. The salmon and the steakA were cold. It appears like the cook waited for all the plates to be ready to bring them and food got cold. My friends explained the situation to the waitress who said was going to talk to the manager, and offered to warm up the food. This is a nice and pricy restaurant, great service experience and customer satisfaction should be your Goal. Obviously The manager didn’t not care. She came by the table and said she was going to waive one dessert one of my friends ordered, but didn’t offer apologies or a credit even though she saw they left the food on their plates almost untouched. A Very disappointing experience. We did enjoy the bread. My hamburger was good.
My husband and I decided to try the dinner at Brooklyn and the Butcher for our wedding anniversary, and were not disappointed! The atmosphere was great, the food was fantastic, and the service was impeccable! We at in the bar and Emily was great, she made several food recommendations, as well as wine and cocktails. Side note she makes the best old fashioned I've ever had. My husband had a glass of red wine and a steak which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the pork chop which was perfect. Overall a fantastic experience for our anniversary and we'll definitely be returning soon for a date night.
The brunch buffet was excellent and a great price! Outstanding service.
This was my first visit and I brought a friend from out of town. The brunch has the potential for being awesome and maybe they were having a bad day but have to say was very disappointed. Food trays were quick to run out and took awhile to refill. Some foods were undercook and lukewarm. Waffles came out cold and since the syrup was cold too the chocolate chips and butter would not melt. Plus side, the price is reasonable, wait staff was awesome, omelette and chicken was good. But not sure I would go back which is sad because I had wanted to take another friend to Brooklyn and the Butcher to brunch next Sunday. 😞
Service was great, food was amazing, atmosphere was wonderful. Will be back for sure.
We always enjoy our visit to Brooklyn and the Butcher. Food is incredible (all of it). Cocktails are amazing. Arrive early and have a drink in the Speak Easy before dinner.
Went for a business dinner. RSVP was at 6:45, some people in party were late however we all walked out at 11:00. Service was slow! Food was outstanding!
First time to this restaurant. Food and service was excellent. Definitely recommend this restaurant
Overall great night out with the family. Food took a long time to get to our table. Reservations at 630pm and didnt get dinner till close to 730. Salad came out timely but the entree must of had a refire. Entrees were good but cooked a bit on the medium rare versus the medium we asked for. That is only knock on the food. Brussels sprouts were delicious and the cheesecake was excellent. I graded the overall value down a bit just due to price. It was slightly overpriced but wont keep us from coming back. Server was great and informative!! If you like trying different restaurants I would add this one to your list.
What a wonderful place for a special dinner. The presentation of the food along with the quality of the cuts of meat are just exceptional! Highly recommend!
Knowledgable staff, excellent dishes and steak features.
One of of favorite places.
The buffet was a nice surprise. We loved it food was fresh and tasty.
It took an hour and a half from order time to get food to the table. Steaks were cold and had sat in the window waiting on sides. The steaks were all overdone because of this. Problem with the sides as well. Expensive meal that didn’t measure up.
