Butcher's Steak Tartare
Citrus, miso aioli, crispy shallots, potato chips
Mac & Cheese
Jacob was a phenomenal server. He answered all of our questions and had a wonderful recommendation on dessert. The bourbon selection was one of the best we have seen. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the bananas foster cheesecake was sinful. 10/10 we will be back for sure!
Absolutely wonderful experience. Atmosphere, service, drinks, and the food was hands down the best that my husband and I have experienced. Definitely will be back!
Awesome food. Very nice atmosphere. Excellent service
Awesome as usual
Steak undercooked but service was great
Great atmosphere and the food was solid. Drinks were delicious! A slightly overdone steak but not enough to complain about. Overall very good.
Great place and great food. The dance/rave music didn’t really match the general ambiance of the place but other than that we had a good time.
The food for the most part was really good. The mushrooms great, the tuna tartare scrumptious, and the steak tasty and cooked to our liking. The mussels were quite small and not worth the money, but we talked to our server about it, and we were refunded our money. We sat in the bar area at a high top table which was fine, but the speaker was right behind us, playing loud music not suited to us. What was worse was that there was a hum when the music was playing. Our server, Marshall, was great and deserves special kudos for his attentiveness to our needs.
Great last minute dinner plan, food and service was amazing.
Wonderful meal to celebrate our anniversary! We were seated promptly and Bryce was attentive throughout. Perfectly cooked/seasoned steaks, creamy Mac & cheese, and Nutella chocolate cake provided for a great date night! Definitely recommend!
Good food. Great waitress. Better bang for the buck is across the river at Jeff Ruby’s in Louisville. Same price point for a better culinary experience, but this place is still super respectable, for certain.
The Oscar, outstanding!
Great food and service
We had a wonderful time in a great atmosphere. The food and drinks were excellent.
Awesome service and atmosphere
I don’t think the drinks were more than an ounce and I didn’t expect to pay extra for blue cheese olives. The best part of our meal were the French fry’s and wine. We were celebrating our 54th anniversary and we weren’t even offered a complimentary desert. For a high priced steak house our experience was disappointing.
The dinner was excellent, wine and cocktail were amazing, and the waitress was the best!!!
Waiter was great, food was great as always
For the price I’d prefer Jeff Ruby’s. Didn’t clear table throughout the meal. Child acting like a fool in the restaurant. Food was ok, not our favorite menu options. Just over all not our preference when it comes to options.
A noisy 4yr old was seated next to us. The entire room was empty, except for our two tables. Doesn’t make sense. Service excellent
The restaurant itself was beautiful but so was the evening! Our server was amazing, the food delicious and there was even a postcard wishing us Happy Anniversary. We loved the little details! Thanks for a memorable night!! We will be back!!
Great service and great food. Looking forward to the next time.
I ha md the sirloin and it was hands down the beat sirloin I’ve ever had. Was more like a filet. Great atmosphere and the Caesar salad was excellent.
Always consistently good -service and food. Love the new cocktail menu and the new Chef! Best bone-in ribeye I’ve ever had.
Fist time we went it was great, this time not so much. Me and my fiance love their steak and how it was seasoned and perfectly cooked. I like mine medium well and this time it came bloody and 80% pink which I can deal with. My fiance like hers well done and the first time we went they nailed it but this time it also came out bloody and 70-80% pink. We had her steak sent back but it came back dry and still pink in the middle. The macaroni and potatoes were excellent the first visit. Again, they missed the mark. Both were flavorless. The waiter asked if everything was ok again and after that point we gave up on getting her steak right. They ended up taking $15 off the bill which was appreciated but we came back for the food, not a discount. I'm not the person to complain but when we spend this amount of money for a grade A steak we expect it to be cooked to our liking. Our waiter bagged up the meal that was not eaten and said he had some "complimentary" truffles for us and thought he was on his way to get them and bring them back. We sat there for a good 7-8 minutes as he walked by us twice, and after the 3rd lap he said we were good to leave at any time. We had to bring up the fact we were waiting on the truffles. We will probably try this place again hoping the experience will be at good as it was the first time but we won't hold our breath.
Delicious steak but it’s pricey. For two people without dessert, appetizer or alcohol, 219.00 is a bit overpriced. We had two 6 oz filets, two ice waters, two salads and two sides.
The steak was perfectly seasoned however the sauteed onions and mushrooms were cold. The Mac and cheese we were told was a gooey instead of dry but it was a dry baked Mac and cheese. They were sweet for filing out an anniversary card though so we will probably be back sometime.
Server was good. Steak was overcooked, sent it back . The second one was worse. Gave up after that. Will not be returning.
Excellent as always! Food was wonderful, great cocktails and a very strong wine list. This restaurant is among the top 5-10 places in our entire region.
Thank you Allen for your kind remarks! Hope you visit again soon! Every Wednesday is 1/2 priced bottles of wine!
Brussels sprouts burnt to a crisp along with mushrooms. Very disappointing. Did not charge for spouts
Great food! Nice atmosphere with incredible service!
Thank you Kelsey!
Beautiful restaurant. Super cool vibes and great décor. Food was good. Not great but definitely good. A tiny bit overpriced. But for the overall experience I would recommend them. Bill for 4 people was $398 food quality and flavor as7.5 out of 10, Service and atmosphere 10/10
The atmosphere is fairly exquisite. The service was at a superior level not often found in the New Albany area. The food for my father was a two thumbs up. The fried fingerling potatoes are an absolute must have!
This was our first time dining at The Butcher. The restaurant is decorated very nice. The outdoor patio is wonderful.
We had brunch and our server was great. However, two things about the food.
I had ordered my Steak omelet without onions & mushrooms and it arrived with both. I ended up just picking them out. My husbands brunch plate was supposed to have three eggs and only came with two. Overall the service & food was good.
We would go back for another try.
Great pork chop and the flat iron steak was delicious. We were happy with everything. Very cool atmosphere
Great al fresco dining in the beautiful courtyard! The food is always great! Love steak tartare and the potato chips are a nice salty addition!
Karen, thank you for your review! We love the updates to the courtyard as well! Every Tuesday is $10 small plates, including the steak tartare! Hope to see you again soon!
Loud diners but the food was great
Overall we had a wonderful meal. It was actually better than I expected. We shared a charcuterie board and it was very large and amazing. The prime Ribeye was also delicious and cooked to perfection. We will definitely return.
We had a great meal and outstanding service!
Food was good but overpriced for quality compared to other restaurants in town that are closer to us. We were put in the “basement” which was cozy but not very private. They did run out of several items, but it was end of the evening. We did not feel rushed even though we were the last diners to leave (there were still people at the bar).
It was wonderful as always! The blueberry lavender lemonade was amazing!
