There was an event on that we were not told about prior to us arriving. For this reason experience was impacted negatively as there was people surrounding our table and even leaning up against the back of our chair for the night. Beautiful place but would not recommend a private booking when events are taking place.

An excellent place in DTLA! My wife and I came for a drink, a view, and a hang. Broken Shaker did not disappoint. As a small aside, the accompanying Salsa to the Guacamole was special. Drinks were boozy too. Will definitely keep this on the list!

Overall, this was a good experience. There were two minor setbacks. The first was the elevator was broken so our reservations were delayed by 40 minutes. When we made it to the roof, they honored our reservations and sat us immediately. About an hour into our night they asked us to switch tables because the host needed space for a larger party; I thought this odd given we explained what had happened with the elevator. The rooftop was nice, dressy casual and great views of downtown. The drinks were great (not syrup tasting) and the food was given to us within 15 minutes of ordering. Wait staff was extremely observant and nice.

Such a disappointment. This place is in a great location and the view was beautiful however despite my reservation we were never visited by a server. Not once. We were seated immediately upon arrival and waited an hour then decided to leave because no service came our way. The only reason we stayed the full hour is because we went to the bar to get our own drinks. I’m still in shock that this actually happened, it was such a strange experience. It was a complete waste of time. We ended up walking to a different restaurant instead.

not a vibe. Staff and security kept looking at us in a racially charged way. To enter the pool area you have to start a $65/per person tab. not in this economy… If you’re gonna charge exorbitant prices, at least notify people on your website. Drinks are $18 for very mediocre fare. also 18% service charge regardless of party size. Upstairs at Ace Hotel is soooo much better.

Very nice rooftop in DTLA with live DJ on a Saturday afternoon. The cocktail looked delicious but slightly tart. The can of regular beer was $9. There was plenty of chips that came with the salsa, but they didn’t seem super fresh. The hostess and security on entry was very friendly and helpful. A great afternoon overall

Honestly was super excited for their happy hour. Took a long time to even flag down someone to put in our order. Others were feeling the same at other tables from what we could see. The service was not good. We had to ask to order multiple times and then they started walking away when our friends tried to order their food. Honestly, everyone working seemed either stoned or drunk. One girl working was moving the umbrella and almost knocked another umbrella over onto a table of people, so I jumped up to move it out of the way and she immediately gave me a snarky comment that she didn’t need my help since she does it all the time. She then realized why I was helping as it almost took out a group of people. Very weird. But whats worse, is that the tip and health tax was included for us four and it was over $30! I will always tip (despite that I think that the businesses should pay their folx a living wage and health insurance and not expect customers to do so)… but the service was so not good and it really shows that in the service. They’re getting paid really well anyway, so why bother? Such a disappointment.

We were scouting this location for a birthday but the whole thing was a giant hassle with terrible service. Rudest bartender/server we have experienced in a long time. My partner ordered a virgin mai tai off the menu and he stormed up to us saying “so essentially not at ALL a mai tai”… just blatantly rude and we showed him it on his own menu. The ego and attitude of the staff was next level.

The waitress asked us for a credit card to open a tab. We handed her one and when the bill came we decided to pay cash. Beware when the bill comes. There was only two of us and the service charge was already included. $12.00 for a 68 dollar bill. Us not knowing we went ahead and tipped her an additional $10.00 dollars. That’s a $20 dollar tip on an order that consisted of two drinks, one order of fries and one order of fish tacos. The worst part is the waitress was hovering over us when we where taking out the cash to give to her and never gave us a receipt when we paid her. We had to go back and ask for one and that’s when we noticed a tip had been included already without us knowing. There’s also no phone number available on the receipt handed to the client in case you need to call the restaurant to inquire on a charge etc. Overall the waitress’ body language when it came time to order and pay lacked etiquette and came across as a bit money hungry and mistrusting of guests. We live in downtown LA. We will never ever go back based on this one time experience.

I recently celebrated my anniversary at The Broken Shaker and it was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment I booked our reservation in advance, the staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful. When we arrived, we were seated at a table with a stunning view of the city by the pool. The ambiance was cute and romantic, and as the night went on, the LED lights from the pool created a fun and energetic vibe. The drinks were absolutely fantastic, although they were a bit on the pricier side at $18 per cocktail. However, they were definitely worth it for the amazing flavors and unique combinations. As someone who enjoys sweeter drinks, I absolutely loved the hibiscus bliss and lemondrop shots. My boyfriend, on the other hand, really enjoyed the vibe check and the daily punch. We even tried two off-menu drinks, the passionfruit pina colada and the strawberry margarita, which were both absolutely delicious. Overall, the atmosphere was amazing, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the drinks were truly outstanding. We had a wonderful time and would definitely go again. I highly recommend The Broken Shaker to anyone looking for a fantastic rooftop bar experience.

We made a reservation on OpenTable days in advance to be able to watch the sunset, and we received confirmation. However, when we reached the restaurant, we were told that there was a private event and we could not access the place until hours later. No one warned us in advance. We are extremely disappointed with the experience.

The place was nice but I was never informed that the kitchen is closed at 7pm so they don’t serve dinner … ate someone else came back for drinks but the heaters weren’t facing the table even tho I was sitting below one …drinks were okay but I feel like I paid for mostly ice for $18 dollar drinks not the best experience… y’all could do better

The waiter was so nice to my guest. She had ordered the delicious sangria and wanted another round. The server said he was sorry but they were out. Later, realizing that they had more in stock brought her a another round on the house. Awesome service!

We loved everything about the place except for the service. We went on a Thursday and it wasn’t very busy. We sat at the bar and it took over 15 minutes to get acknowledged. The bartender wasn’t very personable. She spoke to us one time just to take our order. We were planning on ordering another round of drinks but was unable to do so because she wasn’t even acknowledging us. However, the cocktail waitress was great and was able to get our tab for us after we were waiting for the bartender to check on us.

Made reservations one week out for party of 5. When I got there I was told the kitchen closed early because the chef was sick and the other chef worked double shift. So we were referred to the restaurant exchange in the the same hotel and the food was so overpriced and horrible
