Unfortunately, the restaurant closed unexpectedly and without notice. We accidentally found out at the last minute and were able to make a reservation at another restaurant.
Closed. This business is no longer open.
Restaurant closed after we made reservations but before we got to eat there
I made a reservation and arrived on time, only to find out the restaurant was closed. I would like to have been notified. I even tried to conform the reseevation the day before, but no one called me back. Better communication is needed.
This was the place to be on a snowy Sundy night! We had good old comfort food ( ravioli and linguine with shrimp, sausage) that was delicious. They split the Caesar salad for us and plenty of anchovies! Delicious, we want to come back and try the patio in nicer weather! Yum!
The pasta was homemade and very good, according to my guests. They were out of the parmesan polenta fries, one of their specialites. Also enjoyed the mussels with their amazing, homemade bread. The ciabatta was ok. I had the house salad with prawns and that was very good. The noise was obtrusive and annoying.
The food wasn’t bad, but it definitely wasn’t worth what they charge for it. We had a Groupon, and feel like we were treated differently than other tables. It took 10 minutes for someone to bring us water and get our drink orders, and then 20 minutes once we finished eating for the waiter to notice and ask if we wanted dessert. Then they brought the check before we even received dessert.
App, salad, and dessert were all good. My chicken parm was decent. The noodles were like room temp so that could’ve been better but the chicken and cheese was good. Our server seemed either to forget our table or was having to cover too many tables because she did not come by very much. We had to ask another employee to ask our server to come by the table so we could order more drinks. Otherwise good place good food
Food tasted good, but I’ve had similar quality Italian cuisine with larger portions for equal or less money in multiple other places. Not disappointed we tried it, but certainly nothing exemplary or worthy of a second meal.
The service was a little slow and really casual - not like an upscale restaurant. But it has upscale prices. The food tasted great, but the portions were small - not something you expect from an Italian restaurant, even high end ones. My drink took over 15 minutes to arrive, and it was the wrong one, and the waitress couldn't tell the difference. I showed her which one it actually was. The atmosphere is pretty bland, loud, and industrial, which is trendy around here - but again, doesn't seem to fit in with upscale Italian food and prices I was expecting.
Amazing service. Jonathan was very helpful. The ravioli portion was perfect, enough for a large meal or leftovers. My husband thought the lasagna was delicious, however a pretty small portion.
Went to Brodo for the first time on a Tuesday evening early dinner for two. Started with the mussels which were excellent. I ordered the Chicken Marsala and my dinner companion had the linguini with shrimp and mushrooms. The chicken looked like a frozen Costco chicken breast straight from the freezer - It tasted like it too. Flavorless and touch it was covered with a very bland marsala sauce. The pasta dish was somewhat better but again very bland. The wait staff was a bit over attentive as there were not many people but felt rushed to move along. I will most likely not return.
Carla is a pro. The hanger steak is top notch.
Fresh tasting is always the best and Brodo's got it!
We've been coming here for date night for about 6 months and love it. Great food, drinks, happy hour, and the the service and decor make for an enjoyable evening. We also recently started bringing the kids (2 and 4), and we've really appreciated how accommodating they are for families. Great kids menu, high chairs, etc. We generally go at off hours with the kids as it can get crowded on weekend evenings. Highly recommended.
We had the sweetest server who gave great recommendations. The handmade pasta is amazing - I highly recommend the tortellini. The chicken parm was great and the serving size was generous.
This place was amazing. When arriving we were greeted by staff. There was no waiting, on a Friday night which is unusual in the restaurant business. So we were sat down very quickly. The staff was very professional and was polite. The food was out of this world. I will be returning.
I appreciated that I could make a reservation for dinner, before a theater show. We made it before happy hour, but 2 of the limited choices were not available. The bar tender did try to help with a wine replacement, but the choice was not to my daughter’s liking. The wine she did choose was full price on the bill. They could have offered some discount. Her dinner choice was also not available. I chose the butternut squash ravioli, which was excellent. My daughter’s second choice for a meal was just mediocre. Since we taste each other’s meal, I do agree of her assessment.
Our server was friendly and helpful, attempting to help with all the needs for second choices. I may consider a second try, but on an early attempt on a Saturday, and having so many things not available, I will be more likely to try other places if I need to eat in the Belmar area soon.
The food was lackluster and very underwhelming. I spent $150 for 3 of us and walked away highly disappointed. The mussels were good and the carpaccio was tasty. Our server was very kind and had a wonderful attitude. Unfortunately we will not be back. If you want better food, visit The Wooden Table in Greenwood Village. Same owner but MUCH better food.
Great restaurant! Food was very good and service was fantastic!
Thought it would be a little upscale but really wasn't. Guppy hang out type place.
We went to Brodo for my dads 58th birthday on a Sunday at 5pm. It was very good. Unfortunately they were out of 2 things we ordered which stunk but our server was great and gave us a discount for my dads birthday and for the missing options.
I have dined at Brodo Italian Scratch Kitchen many times and always have enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. Very friendly staff and although the service isn't the fastest, it's worth the wait.
High quality cooking. Fresh ingredients, well prepared and presented attractively. Service attentive and helpful. Overall highly recommended.
The food at Brodo will make you want to return. The Mussels were tender and tasty, the are a number of salads to choose from - we chose a Caprese and a House (made with arugula and other unexpected items). The Hanger Steak was tender and the Chicken Marsala was probably the best I have ever had. So many time a chef will cook the chicken dry - not the case, a wonderful dish. And don't forget dessert! Located in Belmar where you will also lots of entertainment and shopping, this restaurant is perfect for leisurely, casual dining. We would suggest the high-top tables when you make your reservation.
Melanie our waitress was fantastic. Went for happy hour, stayed for dinner! It was clean, comfortable, the food was great and good portions - not too huge! Wine selection was great as well!
GROSSLY overpriced, and at best, the food was underwhelming. Some was actually terrible: we had to send back a salad with old tomatoes and plastic tasting cheese that was drenched in balsamic vinegar--inedible. The butternut squash ravioli was cloyingly sweet. The tortellini dish was reminiscent of what I would throw together on a late night cleaning the scraps out of my fridge, and then would apologize for. We let the waiter know about our disappointment in the food, and he said that he HAD HEARD THE SAME COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER TABLES (plural) THAT NIGHT! Apparently the restaurant was short on people in the kitchen, and he apologized and comped us each a drink. Still, the bill (with tip--the server was nice) approached $150!! Absolutely ridiculous, and disappointing because we were hoping for a great night of food.
We decided to venture outside our neighborhood to try this restaurant. We are so happy we did. So often we are disappointed. The atmosphere is so so.
But the service and the food are wonderful. We tried the mussels. Great broth. In fact we ordered extra bread to soak up the juice. The Cesar salad was very good with just enough Anchovy. The tortellini with goat cheese or something new. Not too overpowering. The lasagna was wonderful. Sausage had a wonderful flavor. The Tiramisu Was perfect and did not over power
Had a nice NYE dinner.
Food and service were very good.
Had a minor glitch with one of our orders, but it was quickly and properly corrected.
We will be back.
Amazing food, but small portions and mediocre service was a bummer. Would probably go back for a drink, but wouldn't pay for dinner.
Went because we had a coupon, do not plan on coming back again. Very underwhelming.
Sausage roll appetizer was great as was soup and salads. Entree’s left much to be desired. Gnocchi was dense and chewy not light, chicken Marsala and lasagna were ok. They did a good job on med rare salmon. I would come back for happy hour and sausage roll with salad.
Family get together
This was our first visit to Brodo. Delicious food and friendly service! We will definitely be back!
It lives up to its name, Broth. The penne pasta with broth was excellent. Service was also exceptional.
Great place for a celebration with the table setup, not crowded and you could hear each other speak. Food was very good and affordable.
Flavorful fresh food all around. Best mussels we’ve had. Best salmon. Wonderful dessert. Alexis was a stellar waitress. Will be back.
Our dinners (4 people) were very good but it was hard to have conversation as the noise level is quite high. Server was good, a bit 'too efficient' in that we had to send her away several times because we were not ready to order wine and meal.
Just ok. Not bad not great.
I love Brodo, it’s authentic Italian food.
