About
Place is unassuming but serves great food and provides great service. Will return when in the area.
Great service and food, chairs are uncomfortable
Excellent! Great food & service, cute space. We ate here today for Mother's Day, very warm & welcoming. I'd recommend the bruschetta, kale salad (incredible croutons), pasta with Bolognese, pizza with prosciutto. I asked for ricotta for my bolognese, owner (?) went into kitchen, came out & handed me a small plate of the creamiest ricotta. Also lovely to hear Italian spoken by waiters.
Mother’s Day lunch
Pizza good, salmon ..not fresh and not good!! Lasagna was below average. Service was poor
Service is the real challenge at this place. We were encouraged to sit in the space near the pizza oven, adjacent to the main entrance and space. Once there it was clear they were not able to accommodate the number of people in the small restaurant. They had run out of menus, so we shared. The drinks came one at a time with five or more minutes in between and the waiter brought different beers than we had ordered. When asked about the difference, we were told, "that's what we've got." After waiting almost an hour for our food, the waiter returned to the table to tell us there was an issue with a pizza request, so it was clear the food had not even begun to be prepared. We had to borrow items from neighboring tables and had a very long wait for our check to be processed. The food itself was pretty good, which made it all the sadder that we would not be returning any time soon. They may be better for take out, which seemed to be taking up a majority of the energy of the staff.
Great Food, great service, will definitly go back!
While the main courses are priced appropriately, the appetizers, soup and salads are way over priced, costing as much as the entrees.
Reserved for 7PM for 2. The visit to the Bowie show ended earlier, it was raining outside. I arrived at the restaurant at 6PM alone, my friend could not make it by 6PM. The place was full, so was the small bar. (the note on OT "a massive bar" is wrong.) I explained my situation, but it was obvious from the start there was no flexibility or good will here. Not by the person seating, not by the manager. When I told the manager 1 person not 2, he accused me of "playing games"...The reason given repeatedly for no table was that the reservation was for 7pm. Not because they were fully booked, they were not. 1 table was free when I arrived, the other freed up while I was standing by the entrance next to the person who was seating the customers. Both were given to 2 walk in couples without a reservation. I was there, they did not have a reservation.
While by the door, I was ignored as if I was invisible. No attempt was made to seat me, offer a drink, will do our best gesture... The only response was no. As if I was listening to some robots. In the end I went up to the manager to find out what was going on? He wanted to know if "I was going to have everything"? I suppose the question was if I was going to have dinner? That was a question to be asked 20 minutes earlier, when I arrived. Yes, I was there to have dinner, but by then I lost my appetite to dine in this place, I left.
My planned pleasant day off was completely ruined. I've never been treated this way and I've never been so insulted before in a restaurant. Was it because they did not want to give a table to a single diner? Probably.
This would have been my 2nd visit. The 1st 1 1/2 years ago was a pleasant one. I eat out several times a week, but I have never before seen such rude, obnoxious behavior in any restaurant. The same day after I left, they cancelled my reservation on Open Table as if I did not show up. I suspect to prevent me from writing a negative review.
I do not recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food, ambiance and service near BAM and Theater For A New Audience. Easy access to subways. A charming New York kind of place. Community seating when fully booked and restroom on primitive side -- like I said, an NYC place. Definitely good to take out-of-towners.
The food was good but the waiter was rude I don't know what was going on that night but that was the only thing that was off.
We questioned a drink order and he took an attitude. I ordered a martini but on the bill was Mosco mule.
Food is delicious! A great place to go for dinner any night, but definitely a night you have tickets to Barclay.
We all had a wonderful time . I the birthday boy have been wanting to try it . I was very pleased we all were
The food was out of this world. I highly recommend Broccolino to my friends and family. I’m looking forward to dining there again. The service was fabulous.
They seated us next door in the pizza joint they took over. Not the same ambiance or restaurant at all. Left before we even ordered
We showed up late but they accomodated us, and the waiter was a pleasure.
The girlfriend and I wanted to try something different for dinner before the Islander game at the Barclays Center. This place was right around the corner. It's tight, it was busy, and thankfully we booked via Open Table while on the train. Though it was bar seating as the only option, it was nice to have the consistent attention of the bartender/server.
Food was excellent and the price was reasonable for Brooklyn.
Give it a try!
Fantastic food, great service. Truly Italian
Fantastic food and service!
Three adults and two girls 6 and 9. We made a reservation for Sunday at 6, which was good, because they only have three long tables and they were mostly full when we arrived. The staff was very accommodating to the kids' requests and the pasta dishes were terrific, especially the pesto and shrimp!
The service was great very friendly, food was outstanding! little small but very warm. Great place to eat before a game or concert at Barclays. I will be back the have great gnocchi>
have fun
Great menu choice and delicious specials everyday
Personable attentive staff
Authentic flavorful Italian dishes
Great pre or post game/show steps to the Barclays Center
Excellent wines, cocktails or coffee and dessert
Perfect lunch with my home from college son!
Fried calamari was perfectly cooked. The Broccolino olive oil is delicious. Lasagna was very tasty but a little salty. Tiramisu was great. Will definitely eat here again.
Food and wine was authentic Italian and outstanding. Two of us had delicious mahi mahi fish in a livorno sauce. We talked almost two hours. Service was excellent. We were hosting our water aerobics instructor for her outstanding classes during the year. Following our dinner, we received complimentary limoncello. Our guest was presented with bottles of virgin Italian olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We left promising to return a/s/a/p.
It was our anniversary. The staff was lovely and they brought us dessert on the house. Thanks Broccolino!
Always a treat. Welcoming staff, simple and delicious food. I love the Brussels sprout salad, the broccoli raab and sausage pasta, and the lamb ragu.
Pricey for nothing special. Also losing some of its touch. Chaotic ambience.
Broccolino was a lovely, small Italian restaurant. The food was excellent and the hostess/waitress was charming. It is right across from Barclay Center which makes it very convenient. Great neighborhood place.
The meal was delicious. Service was great. I look forward to eating there again very soon.
My parents and I chose to eat at this restaurant due to the fact it was right across the street from Barclays Center. We were going to a 7pm Islanders game and wanted someplace close. We made reservations for 5:30 and arrived on time. We ordered with the waitress and let her know we were going to the game. We got our appetizer and waited an additional 50 minutes to get our food, all the while watching takeout/delivery orders being constantly put out of the kitchen. My mother ordered the seafood risotto special - it wasn’t anything more than seafood and broth over rice. I ordered the gnocchi with pancetta and green peas in cream sauce - there was no flavor other than the salt of the pancetta and there were no peas. My father ordered the cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe - again no flavor. The restaurant had a cute Italian outdoor bar/bistro feel and I was very optimistic, but the service was not good!
Great location for a quick bite. Food very good. I recommend the pasta. Also, pizzas one of the best in the area.
Lunch was great. We were 15 minutes ahead of time and no issues seating my party of 3. Server was attentive and addressed our needs. The food was delicious. We had the Buffalo Caprese and it was all very fresh & tasty. We had the Ragù, Pomodoro & Al Porcini. Flavorful sauces & fresh pasta made awesome combo.
Outdoor dining and good food. The large serving of pasta with lamb ragu was rich, hearty and flavorful. My partner's special risotto was good, though the saffron a bit heavy. The bites of wild boar sausage were also tasty. The bread, low point, was rather dry, but overall good experience. Don't expect a strong wine list, but the cocktails looked good. Service friendly and informative.
We had a great time! The wait staff was friendly and the food was delicious.
Friendly staff, really great food, and a nice outdoor ambience
Nice open air dining. Good menu and food. Would go back.
Love the ambiance, service is good and menu selection is quite varied. I love the calamari and kale salad. Ordered al porcini for main with a glass of the tap wine and wrapped it up with a tiramisu. I would give the food a four stars if they are not so heavy on the salt in the pasta and sugar in the tiramisu.
Really cute place to grab a bite, fun cocktails, try the Rosemary Bourbon, close to Barclays and Atlantic Center!
The experience was so great Broccolino is my new favorite restaurant!! Easily could be the best in NYC at the moment! Days later I'm still raving about the food!
Broccolino is a great find in Brooklyn. We have been there a few times and will return when we are in Brooklyn. We have enjoyed most of the pasta dishes and they are all unique and wonderful. The wine list is limited, which is the only thing that could be improved. The restaurant is right on the sidewalk and is great for people watching. It is a small venue, so reservations are recommended.
