Waitress very nice !Good Food.Easy to get a reservation.
I really enjoyed our dinner but it felt like the food was a tad overpriced
I found the food mediocre, and the prices high. The wines tasted watered down. The house rose was inexplicably carbonated. The pasta itself did indeed seem homemade and had a good texture, but one can have MUCH better pasta at Frankie's for the same price, and MUCH better pizza at Sottocasa for the same price. The service was fine - our server was pleasant and attentive. Perhaps people like this place because they take reservations, unlike Frankie's or Sottocasa.
nothing to brag about! just a forgettable neighbor restaurants.
The food was so-so (it came out of the kitchen very quickly, which made me suspect, though there were very few people in the restaurant when we were there.
The wine, however, was delicious, and our server/host most charming, warm and kind.
Great all round!
Great find. Great food.
I showed up early, the atmosphere was fairly quiet and friendly. The staff was instantly great and accommodating (my mother was joining our group and walks with two canes). I went though I thought that the prices seemed a bit high for an sort of homey pasta place... but when the food came I was amazed that they actually serve real portions, not the usual cartoon-worthy 2 pieces of ravioli. The food was quite good and, honestly, I'm a bit of a food snob. My friend and mother ordered a special: caramelized salmon over lobster mashed potatoes. It was delicious and the portions were huge. Neither could finish - and my mother can eat until there's nothing left on a table so that's saying something.
I tripped upon this place by accident but I will definitely be back and so will the other 5 that were in my party. We were all really pleasantly surprised.
GOOD Food always get a table,Open late.Usually good.
The staff, food and service were all exceptional. Highly recommended!
Really enjoyable experience. Pasta was very good! Staff was very helpful and attentive.
good food not rushed and good service and no problem getting a reservation
Two of us had the burratta, both of us became ill later on. Third time there and the service has not improved. Probably not going to try again.
The food was great and the service was perfect! We loved the location and the feel of the place
Food was good, but restaurant had door open and no a/c on. Was very hot and stuffy. We wanted a restaurant for a family visiting ny “ get together”. With door open construction noise was annoying and no air made it uncomfortable to sit and enjoy conversation. We were only customers in restaurant. Too bad. Food was pretty good.
Modern Italian. Casual atmosphere, friendly service and delish food.
They make a decent cocktail too. Will definitely go back
Nice, attentive servers and decent Italian food. The food is not life-changing, but will satisfy an Italian craving. I made a reservation for 10 people on a Thursday about 24 hours in advance and had no issues. We had a nice cozy section in the back near the kitchen. It was great for our group because the restaurant is relatively quiet so we were able to chat across the table. The food was decent. Not the greatest Italian you will find in NYC, but pretty good for the price. We got multiple items (pizza, pasta, apps) and just shared everything. It was perfect for the occasion! But if you are trying to impress someone who is a "foodie" you may want to go elsewhere.
I really enjoyed Mother's day with my family there. We were running late for our reservation and they were very accommodating. The service was impeccable!! The food was great. We did get there earlier than regular dinner time so it was pretty quiet which was great!!
Restaurant has a very good brunch deal. The staff is very friendly and accommodating
Great food, warm and inviting service, flexible. Will def be back!
We went with Mother’s Day l. It was 8 of us. The food was yummy, the service was friendly fast and the wine was delicious!
Very nice and the hostess was exceptionally great!
The host and waitress is great, friendly, patient and pleasantly always smiling.
Food is absolutely excellent. Busy place with a large bar area. Pizza was amazing. Fresh pasta. Excellent service.
Tasty food at a reasonable price. Nice ambience and excellent service. I was also given complimentary dessert, which was great.
Very convenient to where I live can walk there.Good selection and enjoyed the food.
I went with a friend from out of town. Food was average overall. Lacked flavor.
Lovely. Food quality very high for Smith Street. Lovely and attentive staff. All pastas made in house. Go and enjoy!!!
Great daily specials.
Second visit. With 4 others. Had chicken and pesto. Great
Fantastic Italian food, unconventional but quiet dining room, and portions that ensure enough for a late night snack and lunch the next day.
Third time at this restaurant and again very happy. One of the best parts is the noise level. There was just old/classic music in the background but finally a restaurant that we could have a conversation in..all the others are so loud!
Started with their delicious carrot soup..big portion and yummy, also asked for bread and had like a pita bread, toasted..ok...would have just been happy with italian bread. One of us had their lasagna, very meaty and good, another had the gnocchi, very happy with it, daughter had ragu and enjoyed and the best was their homemade risotto with shrimp and zucchini, very good. Actually ordered another order to go. Service was good, though the bartender was serving as our waiter and bartender, but he got a little preoccupied with some nice looking women at the bar. Another waitress came and helped us. Other than that, great night.
As always the food was great but we were disappointed they stopped serving brunch. It still says on their website that it's available, which is why we went, but their regular menu served us well.
Went because of good reviews and it was in the neighborhood. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and service. Had the polenta special which was outstanding plus really good chicken
A very welcome addition to the neighborhood. We loved it. We wanted to relax over a leisurely meal, and the staff not only respected that, but seemed to appreciate it. The food was delicious. I'd love to see a few more vegetarian options (but there are some); the brussels sprouts salad is great (and gigantic: way big enough to share), and we loved our main courses. Very nice cocktail menu and wine list, too. Our server was very personable and just the right degree of attentive. Big bonus: the music was not at all loud, but when we mentioned that one of our party has a hearing loss, the staff member immediately offered to turn it down, and they never turned it back up while we were there. It was lovely -- people could actually talk to their dining companions. We'll be back for sure.
Good, slightly overpriced food, lovely host, fabulous busboy, nasty and mean server without an iota of service in his body. I would never go back. Don't waste your money.
This was the best little gem find ever! The food was amazing. We had la few small dishes to share and the 3 of us each had an entree. The service was also wonderful, out server was from Sicily and strangely I felt like I was in her kitchen in her homeland. That's a great way to flavor a place!
Food was great- place was clean. Servers were very friendly.
I would definitely recommend this spot.
Always fantastic food. Best pasta in the neighborhood by far. And the people who work there are the nicest.
The food was terrible. We left hungry. The people were quite nice, but like I said, the food was inedible. The sauce was very likely from a can. The salad had so much dressing it was like a soup.
