I was amazed with the spectacular food. The menu was diverse and beautiful. I loved the duck, cooked perfectly, the presentation was stunning. Great value, you get so much food for the price. The students are all working so hard and it is noticeable. Kudos to the program.

Service extremely slow this particular night. Kitchen to blame, not serve, although server was not too on top of things, having forgotten several requests.

Excellent dining in a beautiful new restaurant space. The food was cooked to perfection (correct temperature, seasoned appropriately) with presentation to match. The student waiters were very friendly, attentive to needs. Overall, an excellent dining experience no matter the occasion.

Everything from beginning to end was enjoyable at the Broadmoor Bistro. We have already shared with friends and intend to go again. Quite a state of the art kitchen and a great learning experience for students.

My first time to take 3 1/2 hours to finish a dinner, it said it was a guess chef but I think we are not that enjoy those I guess you may call it a “Fusion Food” ! But they just not match! Those plates are huge but all those 5 courses are as tiny as sample plate ! I am assume that we all should check the menu before we brought tickets, Although my husband not a huge lamb fan but I thought we need to have it no matter what. But then I saw a lady beside us can change her 2oz lamb entree dish to a 10 oz salmon dish ! Really ?

THe food did not live up to the excellent menu writing. The portions were only 1 or 2 small bites, but were presented on such huge plates it seemed like even less food. The main entre of lamb rib eye was very rare and barely warm. These are students learning, however this was a special dinner and we were surprised at what was presented by a visiting chef. We will give BB a second chance on a regular evening.

Food was delicious but we were there for three hours instead of two. Lack of leadership and kids didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Also used open table for reservations but did not receive my points for dining

This is a creative environment for culinary students. It is a wonderful experience in ambience and food. It is a specially rewarding knowing that you are giving back to the community by supporting the students and the culinary program and the Shawnee Mission school district.

What a great program for our youth. The food was fantastic and although our waiter was inexperienced, he was kind, thoughtful and so sweet. It was wonderful to hear how passionate he was about cooking and making it into the Culinary Institute of America. Love the new location!

We saw a piece about it on public tv, and it looked so nice, that we decided to try it out.
The culinary students have a wonderful place to learn and practice.
We were very impressed with the food, presentation, and friendliness of the students.
They did a great job, and we will certainly return. They were very busy, so we understood
the time it took to serve everyone. Enjoyed the evening.
So glad we saw the tv presentation.
Worth the money.

Jack was a great server. Outstanding value. Seated right away. Chefs checked discreetly on us. I am astonished that my teens were allowed slight changes in the menu. It was kind and I did not expect it. The new design for our district culinary school bistro is as lovely as the old was, and we will be back. Thank you for the gift of Wednesday's to our community! (Also we love the coffee hours on week days !)

The Broadmoor Bistro is staffed by students from the Shawnee Mission School District who are pursuing a career in culinary arts. It is a very impressive facility serving high end food. I would encourage anyone to go and support these kids who are getting an excellent learning opportunity to following their dreams.

Food was delicious, as always. Presentation outstanding. Opening night, I expect a few hit and misses. Students assisted each other. The timer on the automatic blind did not take into account the location of the sun for diners facing west or those seated at the north end facing south. Upon our request, this was remedied. First glass of iced tea was lukewarm and without ice. Thereafter, they were on ice. Of course we will return!

This was our first visit to Broadmoor Bistro and we're sad we didn't try it before! Tonight was the second to last meal for the season, but we will absolutely go back in the fall. Our favorite dishes were the lamb, endive and watercress salad, and key lime tart. Everything was excellent and a fantastic deal!

We are sad because the last dining for this spring will be April 12th as this is the culinary arts instructional program for the Shawnee Mission School District. They serve only on Wednesday late afternoons and early evening. Outstanding food for a modest price---4 courses for $30 (paid by credit card) and tip (paid on the $30 by cash). I had the grouper (a sub), salad, ham/cheese plate and a fabulous banana chocolate desert that's hard to describe. Wonderful! My wife had the lamb, broccoli salad, tomato soup and same desert. Go before they close for the season--or wait until next fall!

Our server was quite attentive and a pleasure to talk with. The starters were outstanding and presented a wonderful variety of choices. The entrees again offered diverse choices and very tasty. We each had a different dessert and each of us raved about our choices. Each course was artistically presented and each dish attractively presented.
Broadmore Bistro is a great value and gives the students a "real world" experience and each excelled. Great program in the Shawnee Mission School District.

Again a wonderful new 4 course fixed price menu for just $30! This is their last menu for the year which ends April 12th. I had the chicken and my wife the lamb--both excellent with innovative sides. We both had the tomato bisque but different salads--mine was endive and pea sprouts. The deserts were limited to three choices this time but excellent. Mine was the cherry tort with ice cream. This is the culinary arts restaurant for the Shawnee Mission School District. The food is always unique--like a gourmet restaurant but at a fraction of the cost. You must charge the meal. The tip needs to be in cash. Only open Wednesday nights. The venue is in a school but the restaurant looks like a regular upscale restaurant. Education never tasted this good!

One of the best dining experience I've had. Food is exceptional and the staff is enthusiastic and eager to please. Similar prix fix meal can easily cost twice as much at a regular restaurant. Will definitely go back.

Not only a fabulous dining experience, but even more palatable being that it delivers a sneak peek into soon-to-be chefs soon to be on the restaurant scene. If you are looking for a delectable dining experience that not only delivers unique and exquisite tastings, and also guides the next generation of chefs, make a reservation in a hurry! Special guest chefs dates on some Tuesdays each month as well.

Our dinners had salmon entrees and the hot chicken entree and were so pleased. The desserts were absolutely "stop in your tracks" delicious. The restaurant is the product of the SMSD culinary program.absoulutely wonderful!!! Our server showed us the kithen when we were done. Quite impressive!

Excellent food at a modest price. We now are returning every week or so to allow us to taste as much of the four course fixed priced menu as our calendar allows. They are only open Wednesday evening as this is the restaurant for the Shawnee Mission culinary arts program. But from the variety, innovation and taste of the food, you would never know that. We have enjoyed from their winter menu the Mushroom Phyllo "Rangoon", the Rabbit Tortellini with wild mushrooms and rainbow chard, and the Poached Pear Salad. For our entrees we have had the Wood Grilled Salmon with Lobster Risotto, the "Hot Chcken with waffle maple glazed carrots, and the Korean Beef Short Rib with jasmine rice. The desserts were also delicious and innovative. Well worth the visit. They change the menu each season. No alcohol. Its in a school building after hours. Educate your taste and try it.

Impressed! It's refreshing to see the dedication these students have. This was my 2nd time at the bistro and I'll make a point to come back on future trips to KC. The food is fantastic, it's creative with great flavors. Our server was a senior getting ready to graduate - she is getting a great start towards her future. If you haven't been there you are missing out. On this trip the pork dish was wonderful.
