Brix Ratings and Reviews
The food was creative and very beautifully presented. The sauces were delightful. My daughter had bucattini and I had halibut. The waiters were friendly and helpful. We ate early and were able to get seating on the patio--great view, pleasant temperature, fewer people. All in all a wonderful experience that I hope to repeat.
Our group of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our early dinner at Brix. The watermelon-tomato salad was one of the best salads I've ever had. Excellent menu with innovative wine country fare. Lovely view of the garden and hill. My only complaint is that the chairs outside were metal and not very comfortable.
Brix is one of myh favs! Love eating outside with a view of the napa hills and their personal garden. Brunch is amazing, but their dinners are very romantic too. Great for all occasions! Love the butter salad and the oysters are a must! Their desserts are amazing too!
My wife and I dined at Brix the last night of our stay in Napa. We hoped for dining on the outdoor patio, but the inside couch we were seated at couldn't have been more comfortable and still afforded us a gorgeous view through the windows. The tomato & watermelon salad, salmon carpaccio, and wood oven pizza with carmelized onions, asparagus, and smoked bacon for appetizers were spectacular. For our entrees, my wife had the beef ribeye with truffled mac & cheese and bone marrow butter which was one of the best steaks she's ever had. I had the braised wild boar which to me was a quintessential wine country meal. For dessert we finished off with a glass of port and the duo of chocolate. We will definitely be back next time we visit Napa.
Brix was not on the agenda during my recent trip to Napa Valley. It was sort of an afterthought and OH WHAT AN AFTERTHOUGHT. A beautiful view as I dined on the back patio overlooking their Kelleher Cabernet Vineyard and organic garden where most of the herbs and fresh vegetables are grown. Started with oysters and a wonderful SB. Braised Bore with a creamy Polenta with the Kelleher Vineyard Cabernet was a perfect pair.
Sunday brunch was over the top. We grabbed a seat on the patio and lingered for a couple of hours. Walked around the gardens and just soaked in the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The wait staff was very courteous and did not give off that "hurry and get out of here" vibe.
Brix was outstanding. We were seated on the patio with a view to the beautiful gardens where we were invited to stroll with our drinks. Very good waiter who caught on it was our anniversary and presented us with a special dessert. This would be an ideal spot to bring Napa Valley visitors for lunch with a good menu, reasonable price and a view of gradens, vineyards and mountains.
Loved that the food they grow in their beautiful garden is the food they actually serve. Talk about fresh. Brix is a lovely, tasty, tranquil experience. If you can get a patio table do it. The view is amazing. And, btw, the service is impeccable. We will definitely be back.
Was very happy with everything BRIX had to offer. Would recommend it to anyone that asks.
I will say however that OpenTable needs to ensure that the reservation times that are posted coincide with what the Restaurant has to offer. We booked at the allotted time only to find out that the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes. For an 8:30 reservation that was very early.
Highly recommended restaurant but our experience for a party of six was disappointing. Food was either boring or bad. Meat was gristly and we had to send two plates back for not being cooked to order... Twice. The whole experience put a damper on the evening and this was the low light of our entire trip.
We ordered a tempura appetizer. After waiting awhile the server informed us the tempura would be delayed and we were provided with a complimentary cheese plate. When the tempura arrived, we sent it back. The batter was heavy, like cornmeal, not tempura at all. They should have taken it off the menu. The main courses were disappointing as well. The service and atmosphere were very nice but with so many terrific restaurants in Napa Valley we won't go back.
Brix is everything a Wine Country restaurant should be. Wonderful food, beautiful garden to stroll around in after dinner, grapevines in view of the outside dining area...just amazing. And that doesn't even begin to talk about the food. We had the flounder and it was awesome.
We have been there before an loved it, so we were really disappointed this time. Sitting on the patio overlooking their garden, vineyards and the hills is still a true Napa experience, however, the menu was uninspiring and the food really unimpressive. When we were there before, the menu held a bevy of decadent fresh treats. This time we all had a hard time finding anything that interested us. When the food came, it lacked flavor and pizzaz. I had a flatbread with onions and bacon (without the olives) - no cheese! Dry and boring. I hear they change chefs frequently. Until they get a good one, I have to recommend staying away.
Prices make this a special occasion place only but that said it's worth the money from time to time.
The wild boar in creamy polenta is awesome and I hope it remains permanently on the menu.
My husband really liked his pork chop but agreed I got the winning entree. If the boar goes off the menu we probably wouldn't go back for the other offerings.
My husband plans to have the boar next time because there are plenty of places in our area that have equally good chops for substantially less money.
Friendly, delicious, classy. Mussels as appetizer in a tasty wine broth which we dipped the fresh bread in. Wild Boar and Flounder for entrees with mushroom and asparagus sides. The boar was tender and tasted of pot roast in a reduction sauce on top of polenta. It was rich and flavorful. The Flounder was cooked perfectly served on a bed of mashed potatoes with a wonderful caper sauce. Both dishes were outstanding and we couldn’t decide which one was better. Desert was delish. Chocolate duo which was ice cream mousse and lava cake and vanilla crème brulee. The staff was on it but not overly so and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here and would recommend it over some of the other nearby restaurants. Thanks Brix.
