This was our first visit to Brix and we thoroughly enjoyed our brunch, the food selections were great and the service was top notch... we will be back very soon.
The ambiance, service (staff was reaaly great and very welcoming :)) and food were all very nice and made for a memorable evening. We really enjoyed the experience, for our first time at Brix! The pork chop and the duck were outstanding! Thanks, we will be back!
Although we were there off season, we had a delightful experience. The staff were both pleasant and professional. The food was amazing and the wine selection befitting a restaurant in the heart of wine country. A wonderful evening!
I took my family to brunch celebrating my Mother's 84th Birthday. She loves buffet brunches and the rest of the family enjoys good food...Brix's Brunch satisfied all and put a smile on everyone's faces; making it a memorable occasion.
I unexpectantly came across this gem. I had no idea they were serving a buffet. Everything from the oysters, cheeses and breads was phenomenal. I will go back!
Five of us ordered four different meals and they were all good. I enjoyed my lamb burger. The chicken paillard was well cooked and a lot of food. My wife and daughter ate their entire Coho salmon. Everyone was happy! Then we sat out on the lawn with our and admired the vegetable/herb garden.
Me and my boyfriend are regulars at Brix and have never been dissapointed! The food is elegant and super fresh, exciting yet not trying to be too trendy or out there. Service is attentive but not invasive, and the space is comfortable and elegant.
Go to Brix!
Brix has been a personal favorite of ours for many years now. It is no wonder that we recommend it so often to our wine tour guests, not only for dinner but often for lunch in the middle of their tour day. The service is always impeccable and the food is inventive and delicious. I love to walk through the garden where many of the ingredients are grown. The menu changes but the experience is always first rate. As locals, with access to so many great restaurants, it is no small praise to be in our favorites short list.
My fiancé and me loved the restaurant, food, wine, cocktails and service. The fireplace added a very relaxing ambience to the dinner.
The Brix brunch has become an annual gathering for our family and the kids love the food too!
We have been to Brix numerous times on our many visits to Napa Valley. The food and the service are always very good, and the sommeliers are extremely knowledgeable. In my mind, Brix is more of a family restaurant than a place to go for a romantic dinner for two. They allow children and that makes the restaurant noisy sometimes, and for a special occasion, it's not that much fun to sit in a restaurant where the tourists all show up in their usual, sometimes terribly slovenly getups. But that is to be expected in a tourist location, I suppose. The outdoor dining terrace is perfect for a summer lunch and has the most wonderful views to the gardens and hills, but the tables for two are very small and too casually dressed at dinner time.
Haven't been to Brix in several years so planned New Year's Eve dinner there and we were very impressed. Outstanding meal, presentation and service. Staff accomodated my request for a view of the gardens. The scallops were the best I ever had, beet salad was delish. Both waiter and the busser couldn't be more helpful. We also liked that the table are not crammed in like their neighbor, Mustards. We had plenty of space. Can't wait for better weather to dine outside with view of the restaurants private vegetable gardens. Living in Napa Valley we have many choices and must admit we've been disappointed by the "big hitters." Brix was one of the best meals (fine dining) we've had in a long time.
Food was adequate rather than SPECIAL. Kind of lukewarm upon delivery. We were glad it was an a la carte menu on New Years Eve. Wine Steward and backwaiters very helpful...server? In a hurry to get us out. No server should start barking specials before even asking if we would like a drink. She chose that approach. With many AMAZING options in Napa, BRIX would need to step it up to get serious foodies back more than one time, in my humble opinion.
We had an early New Year's Eve dinner. Our dishes of breast of duck & pork chop was outstanding. Our server Mark was very attentive and answered all our questions on the menu. Knowing that our salad was picked from their garden and that the bread was baked inhouse was deliciously fresh. The overall staff made us feel special.
We had a wonderful lunch from the special prix fixe lunch menu: two courses and a glass of wine. It made for a wonderful after-Christmas, easy on the wallet treat. We had fried chicken with a salad starter, matched with an off-dry Riesling. The food was yummy, the portions generous. The noise level was surprisingly low given how busy the restaurant was. Well designed acoustics. Out table had a lovely view of the garden and hillside behind the restaurant. I hope to return soon.
Meal was very good, one of the best Filets we have ever had. Chairs at our table should have been left in the torture chamber they were taken from. Restaurants of this class should be able to afford comfortable seating for their patrons. Our table was right next to the kitchen entrance, which should have been seperated from the dining area by some type of sound wall and/or doors to reduce the kitchen noise. With the "energetic" patron sound level(at the bar)and the kitchen sound level, I could not have a conversation with my wife.
We had a great lunch at Brix. The service is outstanding. I love kids but there was an annoying girl sitting at a table near us that didn't stop singing loudly the whole lunch. The food was delicious and I look forward to going back there for dinner.
Great dinner and wonderful ambiance. Glad to have stopped in.
The place was very welcoming, from the hostess to the waiter! Food was amazing! My son and husband both had the rib eye and said it was fantastic, my son went so far as to say "The best steak he'd ever had". I had the wild boar on polenta which was very good and the Sole was great also! I would definately recommend this wonderful place!
Open Christmas day, great bar,set menus was on target, efficient operation. Had a comfortable neighborhood feel.
It was a wonderful Christmas dinner! We had a simple dinner of salad and short ribs with a nice wine, too. It was delicious. The short ribs were very well-prepared and tender. For dessert, I had the apple galette that was also scrumptious! Perfect dinner.
This was our third Christmas at Brix and it was the best. The menu was wonderful and inventive. Every item was delicious and the wine pairings were spot on.
Not as good an experience as in the past, probably due to the limited menu for the holiday.
Very disappointing meal. The duck was dry, and the boar was salty.
Brix has undergone several changes in the past few years; all for the better. Seating has been once again reshuffled to give an open and spacious atmosphere. Staff has remained reliable and offers superior service. Geoff and Chris are the best in the Napa Valley. Past the lovely garden, the Wine Train rumbles by to inspire awe and delight. New chef, new menu, great results. A must when visiting Napa, CA
The food and service at Brix was outstanding. My husband and I took his mother here for an early Christmas present, and she said it was the best fish she's ever had -- and she's 80! Quite a compliment! The steaks were done perfectly, seasoned just right, and the truffled mac and goat cheese was delectable! What a fabulous experience!!
Brix just keeps getting better and better. This was our first time at their Sunday brunch and it was incredible food and I'd rate it as a real value. Brix is a Napa favorite for my wife and I; I'm so glad to see them continuing to up their game (even in winter!).
Chanced upon this place after checking out the Cakebread Cellars winery just down the road. Perfect pairing. Brix is lovely. Great food, perfect service, awesome setting.
I was disappointed that we couldn't order lunch. It was brunch or nothing. I feel brunches are way over rated. Service was excellent!!!
Took my sister and nieces here for our holiday get together. Everyone was warm and friendly. Great service, great food selection. Eclectic food. Loved it.
This was our first time going for the Sunday brunch buffet (we'd gone only for lunch before), and our first time eating indoors. Everything was excellent as expected, with very interesting, tasty choices on the buffet. All you can eat oysters on the half shell & shrimp were great. Service was very friendly, and the scenery & gardens out back were still pretty even at this time of year. Looking forward to our next visit.
Every trip to Napa includes a visit to Brix. This was our first brunch. What a wide selection to choose from. The dining room is lovely, too cold to eat outside but that has been great too.
Great food, service and atomosphere.
The soup and scallops were both served lukewarm. The wild boar shoulder was served at close to room temperature and was sent back. It returned lukewarm. The duo of chocolate was average. Did not live up to reputation, especially for the price.
Four Friends celebrated my Birthday at Brix. We got there early (right at 10:30) and there were no lines. The waitstaff were excellent and the food was fantastic.. loved the crab, shrimp, and the french toast! I would definitely visit again when i am in the area.
We have eaten at Mustard's the past two years during our annual trip to Sonoma/Napa and decided to change. We had a great time with wonderful food. The butternut squash soup was excellent along with everything else. Will visit again on our return trip next year.
We had a great dinner. I am very impressed with the ambiance, food quality and customer service.
Brix and Bottega are the only resturants that I rate with five stars. The Duck Confit, the Pork Chop, Salads and sides were fantastic, except the Mac and Cheese side. Refrigerator tastless, cold, and hard. But we will always come back.
Wonderful food with great desserts. We'll be back.
We celebrated a 30th birthday. The food was delicious and we were extremely surprised at the portions...much larger than we expected. The dining room was warm and inviting, not too dark, tables not too jammed together. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend Brix.
