Not sure what happened last night. But we have eaten here once before but it was for Brunch and the comparisons are like night and day. Brunch was amazing! You couldn't top it. Service good, ambience, time was top. But t nights dinner was atrocious. Not only did we wait 30min when we had reservations but then waited another 1hr to get our entrees after we were sat and had our appetizers . Our server was terrible. Never apologized or communicated to us why we were waiting so long for our dinner. We even looked around us and other tables that were sitting there before we got sat was waiting to eat as well. Mind you this was about 9:30ish now and the restaurant was pretty much cleared out with the exception of the tables that hadn't eaten dinner yet. Which was about 6 tables. That's one thing but for the manger on site and our sever to not even communicate or apologize for the wait. Was just poor customer service. When we finally did get our food. Which was about an hour later. My pasta shells were way over cooked and chewy and extremely salty. Just not good. People come here to have a great dining experience and drop some serious cash. Just unacceptable. I recommend Brunch but not Dinner in my two experiences dining here. You can take everything I said here with a grain of salt but I was honest. No exaggerating this is the truth.
The food was excellent but the service was lousy. We spoke to the manager and he said that he had the waiter wait too many tables. Too bad
Expected more, service fell off, asked repeatedly for bread, water, etc. Artichoke was barely passable and so anorexic they should have never served it. Halibut was well done but the bisque was a waste. Good and bad but you realize how tainted your experience is when your server can't make it back to table even when you make eye contact.
Beautiful outdoors await you with the massive gardens they have. Sunflowers were in full bloom and was so nice to enjoy. Service was very attentive and food was good. I recommend this restaurant for a lunch.
ambiance is terrific. wait staff was also. Food was good but not terrific as one would expect from this restaurant.
The butterscotch pudding was a great hit. Also there nectarine and blueberry crisp
Have yet to ever have a bad experience here. The service is attentive and accommodating. Food is fantastic.
Fun and hospitable service. Great food. Loved the tempura green beans and Halibut. Awesome vview and gardens.
Wonderful experience with excellent food, wine choices and views.
Beautiful grounds, perfect service, great food and wine.
never a disappointment. even during these difficult times when so many restaurants are short-staffed. Service was impeccable.
We experienced a very relaxed luncheon outside overlooking lovely gardens. Daniel and the other staff were friendly, engaged, attentive and efficient. It was very obvious that they worked very well as a team. The four entrees were delicious! Will continue to highly recommend.
Lovely setting, delicious food, and Maria Z was upbeat, kind and a wonderful food server. She made our evening easy and wonderful.
Go for lunch. not a dinner place. waitress came out and took our food order first. I asked if we can start with a cocktail. We ordered the cocktail but she wanted the food order. Big place, we werent rushed, I dont think turn over of the tables was an issue. we ordered food and my dates drink came out alone. then the apps, then I had to ask for my cocktail again. I asked to see the sommelier as I dont know CA wines. But alas, the som left at 6pm... huh? huge wine list. they found a waiter who kinda knew some wines, and actually did well. but very odd? I guess bring your own wine and pay for corkage. my ribeye was the thinnest cut of beef I've ever seen. I think Arby's slices it thicker. They have a scotch and after dinner drink list, but you need to ask for it. shhhh it's a secret, i guess. At the end of the meal, we asked them to order us a cab.... and they wouldnt. they said take uber or lyft. That being said, there is a beautiful garden and there is a wine tasting in the vineyard during the day, so I can see it being better during lunchtime.
Beautiful views, great service and amazing food. Can’t wait to return.
My husband and I met with 2 friends to celebrate birthdays. Had drinks at the bar and then taken to a table outside overlooking the beautiful gardens, Busy for a Wednesday evening. We shared green beans, fries and grilled artichoke as appetizers - all were great. 2 of us had bucatini and I had mushroom fettucine and my friend had the risotto - all great. Lucky to have great weather.
One of the best complete meals I’ve had in a long time. Will definitely return.
Wonderful setting outside overlooking the garden. Amazing customer service! The staff continually adjusted the umbrellas to prevent the setting sun hitting us directly on our faces. Everyone’s food was delicious!
Beautiful setting , terrific food and excellent food. Don't delay make a reservation now , best in napa!!!!~!!!!
Delightful lunch. Small portions for the price but incredible flavors. Best grilled artichoke flavor ever although not much “meat” on it. Garlic and lemony delish. Gnocchi drizzled with lemon oil also exploded with flavor.
Finished with caramelized Banana Split.
Lower rating for very small portions. Our waiter, Sergio, was excellent.
As always good food and view at Brix. Go and enjoy.
A-maz-ing!! The view and food was phenomenal!! Highly recommend
Our service was very very slow. My meal, short ribs was very good. However the prime rib was not prepared well. The outside views are spectacular. The ambience inside was poor. Bright lights and lacked personality.
Our team enjoyed the surroundings. Had issues with getting drinks refilled and food coming out in a timely manner so we all could eat at the same time. The manager did comp the two entrees that arrived late and apologized. Overall, beautiful setting, knowledgeable servers and great tasting drinks.
Beautiful evening, food and service were wonderful, loved the stone fruit salad and bubbling Rose’, and the outdoor grounds are just spectacular, we forgot how beautiful the setting is, takes your breath away!
Wonderful dinner on vacation
Everything was wonderful! Had a great time
Service as usual is excellent. Food was great but I wish there’s more selection and variety.
Brix is a family favorite and so I brought my friends for a brunch get together. A few commented that there was not much variety on the menu.
And just wondering, when are you bringing back the Sunday brunch buffet?
The hostess and manager were not friendly, especially Maddie. I had a reservation and called 15 minutes before our reservation because of traffic we were going to be late. We were 15 minutes late and they sat us inside and when we requested out side we were told no because we were late even though there were three table available that sat two people. Just rude and uncalled for. However the servers and food were fantastic and not the first time I’ve been there. The hostess and manager could work on people skills and treating their customers better honestly.
I was so excited to come to Brix, as it was hailed as a Napa Valley staple. My husband and I arrived for our 12pm reservation for an table, only to be told there were no tables outside, but they could accommodate us inside. Great! We were flexible. Despite hardly anyone being inside, we were shown to a table in the corner literally right under a fly trap, where we were attacked by flies the whole meal. I asked to switch tables and was rudely told no (again, almost the whole inside was empty!)
I could recover from this, were the food good, but it wasn’t. Coffee was so watery and weak that it looked like tea; food took FOREVER to come out, and the hollandaise on my Benedict was disgustingly thick and had no flavor. Our server looked at us like we had three heads when we asked for salt and pepper.
There was just a rudeness to the whole experience that was tough to stomach and the food made it no better.
I’m a frequent visitor to the Valley and this was such a strange experience. With so many other wonderful local establishments who know the concept of hospitality, spend your money elsewhere. Please.
Thank you for accommodating us and our dogs. I know I changed my mind several times with my reservation and appreciated the flexibility. The dogs were treated nicely, given water bowls and everything. Staff were friendly to them and to us. Will definitely be back!
Great food + service!
Our food was delicious. Several ordered the crab fondue and deemed it absolutely delicious. I had the Shrimp and Grits, which is not normally what I would order but it called to me. It was subtly spicy, the shrimp had a sweetness to them and the grits were good. The halibut was tasty and the garnish of watermelon radishes made it beautifully plated. The braised short rib and polenta was incredible
There was a singer/guitar player out on the patio that truly enhanced the ambiance of being surrounded by a beautiful garden. Our service was spot on and the food was delicious the specialty drink (Brix version of a margarita) was very enjoyable!
Amazing! The food, service, setting was excellent.
We had a lovely time sitting out side with the views of the garden.
Our server was great , and did not rush us.
All three of us found some thing on the menu, that was of interest. The salads were fresh and tasty. My husband had the stuffed pasta and
Said it was delicious.
And we can not forget the banana split, to end our meal !
We are going back, and taking out of town guests for dinner.
Nice ambience and good food. Perfect place for lunch.
Excellent service and outstanding food. One of our favorite places in Napa Valley!
