Brix And Ale
We love fine dining and since moving to Georgetown, Texas we have found many good restaurants but not real fine dining. This is the only one on Open Table so we picked it for our wedding anniversary. It was better than most and we will return. Some interesting items on the menu that needs to be tried.
Wait staff was not organized and seemed confused. They tried to help each other but appeared to lack proper training
Wine, cheese board, and desert were delicious. Dinner was sub par.
It was very nice, I’ll go back some day when I’m in town again.
Food was great, menu was smaller than most places. The service was very inattentive. Maybe they did not have enough waiters, but it was not busy.
I had the steak frittes, which was excellent! As a side, I had the garlic parmesan French fries. They were really good as well. There was a "dusting" of garlic and parmesan so the flavor was not overpowering. Service was good as well as the atmosphere. Looking forward to another visit someday.
Ahi tuna salad nicoise was wonderful. Beautiful restaurant. Enjoyed being able to have dinner without leaving our hotel
The specialty cocktails were amazing, the service was great and the food was good.
Looking forward to returning and trying dinner perhaps. Much quieter for a Sunday lunch celebration than I would have anticipated for such a great location, perhaps we missed the brunch rush. Overall we had a great meal and our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable without being overly '
There were only two other tables that had people eating there.
Our food was very good Redfish, pork and chicken
The waiter was outstanding.I believe he is Mauricio.
Food was mediocre at best. Service was horribly slow even though the restaurant was empty. I ate here six months ago and it was as good. Something has changed. I would recommend going somewhere else.
The food was amazing. A little pricey, but overall great
We chose Brix and Ale as an alternative to a 2 hour wait at a favorite of ours on 7th street. There was no waiting @ B&A and while it wasn't a bad restaurant or experience there was nothing memorable about B&A except maybe the price (too expensive) relative to the service and fare. Aside from the price I wouldn't note that for a near empty restaurant the service was slow and somewhat inattentive. Again, I wouldn't characterize the service or fare as bad, just below expectations.
I do wish the restaurant all the success in the world.
Our large family group was delighted by the new menu and delicious dinner we had on Christmas Eve. Great service, too. We were pleased with our choice for such a special occasion. Merrily! ETB
The food was excellent. My friends were pleased with the burgers that they ordered. We enjoyed the music at Jack's lounge, and the convenience of being able to order from the Brix and Ale. We will be doing this again.
The food was okay but the service was poor. We had sandwiches and it took over 45 minutes to get our food. The waiter never check back to see if we need drink refills and we ended up going to the bar to get a second round of drinks.
Asked server to lower music-did so -and it was a lovely evening!
This is a restaurant in a hotel. It’s got nice ambiance and great food with nice presentation. It’s more upscale than a lot of nearby restaurants, but the price point was good.
I had booked the reservation through open table and had then called the restaurant. This was a lunch that I had planned for my sister who has difficulty getting around and we were looking for a spot with a beautiful view. I have been in the restaurant before I knew that the view was wonderful. We got there however and we’re not told that there was an abbreviated menu. If you go please ensure that they had the full menu available and not just a few items because they have large crowds and are trying to get them in and out. We could not even be offered anything different other than what the business crowd was eating for lunch. Very disappointing. Everyone told my sister happy birthday but that was pretty much it, no other accommodations. It was horribly noisy and not even a place to sit and enjoy the restaurant or view. I wish they had a small location for those people who do not want to be a part of the chaos.
Our family dined at Brix and Ale on a Friday night. I made reservations assuming it would be busy but the restaurant was mostly empty. The food was good and reasonably priced. There was a nice selection of craft beers and wine. The service was good. We would return.
The staff was very good, professional and friendly. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. There were only 2 other tables occupied when we were there, Friday night at 7, which was kind of surprising.
Very nice. Quiet and attractive.
We decided to try this restaurant out for my wife's birthday. We were received good service and food and had no complaints. We will return again.
Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted promptly and sat at a table by the window. As we sat there we were surprised to find the restaurant empty, a few people did arrive by the time we were done dining but nothing that we are used to. Not sure why a reservation is needed. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly; we ordered the salmon & double boned pork. The salmon is a must have great flavor, now the pork was very dry and as you could see it was put in the oven too long as my carrots & spinach were burnt. The carrots & spinach were very salty. We order dessert and this was very good. Warm Lemon ricotta donut holes with a dipping sauce. The coffee is rich and strong which I do appreciate a good cup of coffee. Would we return, yes but I would not get the pork this time.
We love this place! I am afraid to tell my friends because then it will get busy.
When we arrived there was almost no one there and yet it still took them 45 minutes to take our drink order and then another 20 minutes to get our drink order and put in our food order. There was no sense of quickness with the waitstaff even after we told them we had tickets to a play. We had an hour and a half to eat and get to our play and we almost missed our play.
good food but excruciatingly long wait time when no one was even around.
Although the food was okay, the service was terrible. Each drink order was taken one at a time. Drink and food delivery took forever. I ordered my daughter's dinner first since she was hungry and she was completely done eating before the rest of our order arrived. We were there for 1-hour before we got our food. One drink order was incorrect and 2 of the 5 dinner orders were messed up. I went to the bar to get 2 of the 5 drinks for our table since our server was so slow to return to the table. Once we had our corrected food orders, no one came back to see if we were doing okay with food and drinks. We will not be back.
The location and ambiance are amazing. The food was good. I ordered braised chicken that was cooked perfectly, a couple people at our table enjoyed the burgers.
The service was **slow (we waited a long time for drinks & food and there were long periods were the server was around). The interaction with our servicer was a bit awkward. My husband ordered a drink a certain manner. When it arrived the server asked if it was made correctly. My husband informed him it wasn't...the server simply said "Hmm" then made no attempt to have the drink fixed.
**the restaurant wasn't overly crowded or busy
The food was amazing and the customer service was over the top! Will definitely be back again.
Mediocre food and inexperienced service in a low energy restaurant.
Food was delicious! We will be coming back. Their squash and crab bisque was amazing and we are both Marylanders! A little over priced but the food shined.
We loved everything about it! The food was delicious, service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was fantastic! Keep it up!
The service was horrible. Not crowded at all and the waitress never asked us if we wanted another round of drinks. Took forever to get the check. Not worth it for the price. Go to Georges on the Town instead.
Don’t get much for the money. Portions are small. We had the salmon, scallops, chicken-all these plates had small portions, and not much flavor. However one bright spot was the steak, that turned out to be the bright part of the evening.....
This is one of Gtown’s most elegant restaurants. The service is attentive & the staff is very accommodating. We have eaten here several times with Austin & Houston friends, and they are always impressed.
Very disappointed. Only 3 tables were dining at the restaurant at noon which tells me there are problems. Menu has changed - only one soup offered, limited lunch menu. One person had a salad which was poor quality and unimpressive appearance. Another person had the steak burger which was ordered well-done and was burnt! Others meals were just ok. Simply not worth $14 for a sandwich.
Food was ok. Restaurant was cold. No bread offered. Service was satisfactory although slow to refill water glasses. Overall, average experience.
Our group enjoyed Steve's attentive service, the delicious crab cakes and NY strip (!). The starters were very tasty. Wine by the glass had breathed a little too much, but the pinot noir was still good.
The food and service were both the best. From their San Gabriel Flatbread, Crab Cake Salad, Filet of Beef to the Peach Cobbler, everything was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing. This was the first time that we had been here, but it certainly won't be our last.
Our service partner was Stephen and he timed everything just right. Excellent service.
