Wonderful evening. Everyone very friendly and helpful and food/drinks were great.
The service was very slow! I waited 45 minutes for my drink! The food was NOT what i expected! Beets salad was tasteless, broccoli with lobster were impossible to eat as they were raw!
We went on Thanksgiving (prix fixe dinner). We were seated right away + at a table where we could see the sports games and the very efficient, hard-working bartender ++ (we were impressed).
When we ordered our dinner (appetizer, entree (turkey natch), and desert, my companion was told they had only one of his chosen desert left and he wouldn't get it. OK, there were three choices, mine and pumpkin pie, so he chose pumpkin pie. I told the wait staff we wanted our bottle of wine served WITH our entree.
Our appetizers were excellent!
Then we waited quite a while until we were served a cold entree ( - -). They took it back to heat it up (+). No wine yet. We got our now sort of heated entrees back and started eating. We asked for more gravy, which appeared quickly (+). Still no wine (- -).
We are watching for our wait staff. Ten minutes or so later we flag her down and ask about our wine. She'll take care of it. She goes to the next table and interacts with them for several minutes. Another ten minutes goes by before we get our wine. She does know how to pour it properly (+). We are, however, nearly finished eating (- - -).
Time for desert: they are now out of the desert I ordered. Only option is pumpkin pie, which is WAAY down my list. She asked the Manager if there was another option. Nope (--). They did take $10 off our bill (+). We ordered coffee. It tasted like instant (-). We took more than 1/2 a bottle of wine home in the trunk of the care. Finished it last night.
We left probably the lowest tip we ever have. Sad.
Had their Thanksgiving meal. Outstanding. The filet mignon my wife had was the best she has ever eaten. My turkey traditional dinner was also excellent!
I had the filet mignon and it was probably the best I have ever had. The filet was a good size, cooked perfectly, extremely tender, and the sauce was superb.
This is perfect restaurants!
Have been for business lunch several months ago and yesterday for Thanksgiving.
I love the service; top-notch both times, and I am very attentive to the quality.
My biggest disappointment was the Thanksgiving Turkey dinner plate.
In general, it was devoid of flavor. That goes for the Turkey meat both white & dark, potatoes and carrots. The turkey was very dry and what little gravy was on it, had very little flavor. The stuffing was also dry and seriously reminiscent of sawdust!.
Lastly, the whole plate of food was barely warm.
On the positive, there was a 'dab' of cranberry which was great. The squash soup appetizer was fantastic. My date's salmon plate was very nice except the fish a bit overcooked.
I will try one more time.
Decided to try for the first time for Thanksgiving dinner. Wonderful food, great value. The cornbread sausage stuffing was outstanding.
Our party had the Thanksgiving prix fixe, and we were very satisfied. The ambiance of the restaurant was excellent, and the food was good. Some of the dishes were merely good, but the BBC salad and the chocolate-nougat terrine were knock-outs. Our server was very good, and he probably recognized how important conversation was to our party.
Wonderful menu for Thanksgiving. Everything was delicious. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays.
Will come back to try their regular menu.
The food is good. The waiter could be more welcoming. But I get to talk to someone who seems to be the manager. He was extremely nice and friendly.
The staff was professional, nice and very courteous. I would definitely come back again.
Great service, meals and cocktails
British Bankers is a nice establishment. It has a contemporary feel to it which is not reminiscent of a British pub or a typical European restaurant. The food I found to be average.
Amazing food and service.
Don’t order the lobster roll!
Great service. Love the drinks and the rooftop bar.
This was our first visit to the BBC since the remodel a few years back. We had heard from friends that the reboot was less than what they had hoped. That impression was completely incorrect as our meal was simply fabulous. The service was friendly and not over-solicitous. The food choices were varied and tasty from the appetizers to the main courses. While not a low-cost dinner, it was the perfect place for a celebratory dinner.
Delicious food. Felt Covid safe on rooftop. Appreciated being able to eat early (4PM).
Loved our meal and our server. The outdoor seating has great ambience!
First time at this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the food. The lobster dishes were steamed/poached perfectly (not over done) and all of our dishes were tasty. Great ambiance and service with plenty of options for indoor and outdoor dining. Staff was attentive, from phone call confirming reservation to on-site attention. Looking forward to next visit!
Great server-great food-great seating-Bill Oconnor is amazing and professional
Always excellent. Love the rooftop!
Amazing food and service. A fantastic place - rooftop is a great place to sit.
Excellent food and service. A very pleasant surprise given that some of the previous reviews were not positive. The ingredients were fresh and food was delicious. Service was definitely not slow at all. Reasonably priced. We were skeptical at first but is very impressed and enjoyed our 1st dining experience here.
Rooftop area is fantastic. Started recently going back there for cocktails this time we had dinner and the food was great. We had the halibut and the deviled eggs they were all fantastic. Service was super good too
Sublime evening celebrating all things Lobster. We enjoyed the only lobster themed menu on the upstairs terrace. It was perfection.
The difference between the rooftop dining experience compared to the lower floor is like night and day. Yesterday we ate on the ground floor. There were 4 tables on the ground floor with customers. It took half an hour to bring our drinks an hour and 15 minutes for the entrées to arrive. We had to constantly flag the waiter to ask for updates.
The Lobster roll is outstanding...every Saturday they have a Lobster Fest...!!
Great atmosphere on the rooftop with good food and drinks
I’ve been to the BBC a couple of times before, and it was alway excellent.
This night, the experience wasn’t so good.
Food was not bad, but not good either. Calamari was undercooked to my taste, and lobster was unimpressive. My wife had pasta, which was again ok for home made everyday pasta.
The waitress was definitely on a bad day. She forgot drinks, mixed up some orders and was overall on the airy and bubbly side. Not in a cute way.
Ambiance is great, and we still had a good evening, but it was overall a mediocre experience.
Really nice outdoor setting which doesn't feel overcrowded.
A bit pricey though.
excellent food, and really remarkable service. I don't know how they get cocktails to you so fast.
The lobster bisque was nice but very strong tomato flavor and just a few small flecks of lobster meat in it. Very nice, but it didn’t have a strong seafood or lobster flavor. So a little disappointing.
The lobster bolognese was very creamy and predominantly tomato flavor. The lobster pieces were small strips of meat. We expected bigger chunky pieces of lobster.
The lobster bruschetta was tasty and actually had some good chunks of lobster, but the sauce with onions and sun dried tomatoes was too much so it made the bread all soggy. Bruschetta is supposed to crispy bread. Expected a more traditional Italian bruschetta with some lobster meat rather than a rich (but tasty) sauce.
Paella too had predominantly strong tomato base. It was very tasty and nicely cooked, but not a lot of lobster meat in it, and again disappointing since this was lobsterfest night.
There was nothing overly with any of the dishes, we just expected more given the billing of this as lobsterfest. If the paella had the same amount of lobster meat as the bruschetta it would have been nice.
If I go again, I would order the half or whole lobster to get a decent amount of meat.
great lobster and drinks on the roof, good service
Sit on the roof too if you want VIP service. Sat in the main dining room, a slew of different people “helping” us. Yet no spoon was brought when we ordered soup SMH. The “bread service” was once slice of bread that we had to ask for many timesaver just don’t bother.
Sat on the Rooftop - beautiful sky there was a lot of high energy, can get quite loud. You can hear the train go by, so if you want intimate conversation, sit inside.
The service was excellent; food was very good, the Ahi poke was delicious.
Celebrating a birthday! Had a great time! Service was great! Highly recommend.
Excellent food as always
