The tradition of Indian cooking in the UK is long and storied, and there are few things that can compete with the curry house as a Friday night dining destination. People swear by their neighbourhood lassi-and-lager providers, and for those living on the Wirral, Britannia Spice is the local favourite. The chefs down at their location on The Parade in the Parkgate area of Neston are sourced from somewhere more exotic than the Wirral – India and Bangladesh, of course – and their menu is suitably subcontinental. Tandoori specialties are there, naturally, in the form of tikka lamb and chicken, as well as sheek kebabs and shashliks, as are baltis, biryanis and all your favourite curries.
