Bristol Seafood + Steak + Social
Alex was absolutely wonderful. This was our first Father’s Day without our mother as she passed away earlier this year and he made everything great and memorable for us. He was funny and attentive, he even left the restaurant to go grab steak sauce from another restaurant for my dad that you guys were out of at that time. Great experience and would highly recommend. Thank you!
My family and I came to Brunch to celebrate Father's Day and it seemed the kitchen was not prepared for the crowd. When we arrived for our 1:30pm reservation, the cold bar was nearly empty. The omelet station was had no meat available for preparation. Eventually empty containers were filled but will say it was disappointing when we first arrived. However, our waiter Jason Faulkner was great and made sure out table was cleared away quickly of plates and drinks filled frequently. Also the guy working the omelet and prime rib station was helpful as well. My grandpa initially received a rather raw piece of prime rib. I went back up to get him a further cooked piece but the slices were still a little too raw. So without asking, the guy cooked the prime rib a little further in a omelet skillet. I really appreciated it as well as my grandpa. And as always....the food was very tasty.
We were seated 20 mins past reservation time, but were compensated for the delay. Our waitress was great but they were definitely short staffed. Desserts ran out and never replaced with an hour left for brunch. I hope they handle the “Hamilton” crowd better. This used to be our favorite brunch.
Food and services was great very nice atmosphere, me and my family gonna go back.
I think it was just a one time bad experience. It was a busy day during brunch. The staff couldn’t keep up. The kitchen was having a difficult time also getting the food out. So I think everything was just a little off including service and attitudes. It’s still a great place to go. Just happened to have a off day. Will try again.
I always enjoy the Bristol for happy hour and was excited to take my father there for Father's Day. When we arrived, we ordered the brunch buffet with drinks. There were no plates at the buffet and several items on the buffet were empty. Our waitress was nice; however, we had to flag her down several times for refills on cocktails and water. Also, we were charged for the petite Belgian waffles that were supposedly included in the price of the brunch. I didn't realize it until after we had left the restaurant but I did verify on the website that the petite Belgian waffles were supposed to be included in the overall brunch price.
Hi Keri, Thank you for your feedback! A member of the management team will contact your in regards to this. ~Zahra Almoamin, Service Manager
Fathers Day Brunch. The food was excellent and the service was superb.
Very disappointed in the birthday dinner for my husband. We were told our server was new after waiting 45 minutes for appetizers when we had already received salads for our meals. I understand having new servers but expect in a nice restaurant such as this that some service experience would be required before being hired. Rolls were not served and drinks not refilled. All around disappointing.
This is our normal Anniversary spot. Was not impressed this time. Our server was not very good. And the food was ok. Pro5will not come back.
We eat at KC Bristol every June when in town for the AP Reading. Look forward to it!
We are always treated like royalty when we have dinner at the Bristol--with fantastic service, well-trained staff, consistently good food, and a restaurant that has never lost its buzz.
New menu does not match what’s online. Server did not know the new menu so it was a little frustrating. Ditch the biscuits. Dessert was amazing!
Mahi mahi was not the freshest
The ambiance was wonderful! Our service was spectacular. My husband devoured his dinner surf and turf the lobster Mac and cheese was AMAZING!! He loved it, I wish I’d ordered that; my lobster pizza was just ok not my 1st choice when we return.
My boyfriends birthday brunch! Delicious and our server provided everything we needed before we even had to ask:)
A wonderful bruch with a great cold food bar and wonderful mini belgium waffles!
Was expecting Bristol...…...and got a new concept but the same name, some things don't make any sense. Crazy, but I had to keep asking for a fork, they give you one fork and a knife for goodness sake, who was in charge of this change insanity? "Lucy, you got some splaining to do!"
This restaurant was phenomenal. Everything was extraordinarily delicious. Quite a bit more expensive than my usual night out. But I suppose you must pay more for the nicer things in life.
We enjoyed the food, it was fabulous!! Our waiter was excellent at informing us of the menu. He made the evening fun. This is always an amazing treat for us. Wonderful place!!!! Thank you!
We really enjoyed Bristol! The food was excellent and our server was fantastic. Also great cocktails!
I give the Bristol the highest possible rating.
If' you're looking for the best restaurant in downtown KC...you've found it.
We were disappointed in the brunch, we were there at 1:15 and some items on the hot buffet line were not kept well stocked example-the fish. It was very good but when we went through the line there was only a little bite of fish left. The restaurant was not that busy so this should not have been a problem. The prime rib was not good at all I got a small piece that was mostly fat and there was not much there to offer or I would have asked for another piece.
Our wait staff was very good and attentive.
The price for the buffet was 30 per person we have been to other Kansas City Bristol and there is no comparison. The other site has been extremely busy when we have gone but the food was still excellent.
Damien was excellent attentive and friendly. Our oysters and salmon flatbread were delicious. We had lobster tail lobster rolls sockeye salmon and crab cakes. All delightful and the Talbots Pinot noir was a nice find. Our group spanned 4 generations and all had a wonderful experience
Food was amazing service was great!!! The crab cakes were sooooooo good!!!!
Everytime we come to KC we like to go to Bristols as the food and service have always been fantastic, this time the food was okay and our server was very unprofessional as he complained he was so busy and we waited a long time for him to come to our table the first time and then he seemed very indifferent to us as customers.
8 of us went for a birthday. The seafood was good. My husband ordered a burger and it was the worst he has ever had. The lobster Mac was bland, very low on cheese. For the price I expected more out of the food. The crab cake starter was $19 and came with two very small cakes. Service started out good then was just okay.
Excellent atmosphere and fresh fish. Highly recommend!
Damien was painfully slow. We let him know up front we had a concert in 90 minutes. It took 15 minutes to get drinks. 30
Minutes for salads and apps. We got out entrees at 8:15 and had to shovel steak and lobster, halibut, etc., to get to the Midland on time. The manager did allow me a military discount, but we were all highly upset. The restaurant had maybe 20 people in it. We’ve been there with 9 people and had 1 server. Fast! Accurate! Left with time to spare. Our 90 minute dining experience last night was troubling. We all felt sick to our stomach from having to gorge our food.
Bristol is a KC standard that still stands up well. Excellent service, some of the best seafood in KC, and a great location for entertaining visitors.
Everything was fantastic. The extra care that went into decorating the table since it was my wife’s birthday to the service was amazing. It was a bit pricy, but I believe that you get what you pay for.
Graduation party that had great food and service. Highly recommend!
Celebrated a friends retirement. Lovely afternoon, exceptional service with Sassy Cassie!!
Food was excellent, management superb
Our waiter paid very little attention to us and gave no service it was handed down to lower staff food was lukewarm when served
Hostess messed up and marked our reservation as seated but we were not. Only caught after inquired why people coming in after us are being seated. Service was slow yet table seated just in front of us had plates cleared before we got our food. My fish was good but wife's was way too salty and both our lobster mac and cheese was warm at best but certainly not hot. Used to be our go to for special event but after this epic fail on Mothers day I do not see us going back anytime soon.
Dinner was excellent wait minimal our waiter was fantastic explained everything
First impressions are the lasting ones! Some buffet items were cold, some tasty, some not so much..Overall my dining expectations were not met... Maybe Leawood location is bette!
Having been to the Bristol numerous times in the past I was shocked by the general condition of the restaurant. The flooring was filthy and, granted, it was very busy on Mother's Day, the amount of food on the floor without anyone attempting to pick it up was embarrassing.
The table set up between seatings barely touched the table with a rag or wiped the seats resulting our table being pretty sticky.
The quality of the food was spotty, the oysters were of the lowest quality available from seafood purveyors. You had to really scrape the shell to get a little meat on your fork. The omelet / standing Rib roast station was under manned which meant one had to stand in a long line to be served.
The service was at best mediocre because the wait staff had too many table to serve.
And the noise was deafening!
Our experience was not what we had expected from the Bristol. Although the waffles were tasty the rest of the experience was strangely reminiscent of other well known chain buffet restaurants just at a much higher price point
Mothers Day buffet was VERY disappointing. The somewhat limited offerings were continuously unavailable creating long lines of people waiting for food to be delivered to the service area. I will not return.
We have been coming to the Bristol Restaurants since the seventies. This location still maintains their quality service. From the hostess to the servers, the service was good. The food didn’t disappoint either.
Best brunch in KC, good service, great drinks, valet parking is easy
