Excellent food, appreciate the brunch hack.
Been to Bristol several times. This was by far the worst experience ever. Food was average at best. Service was awful. Examples, ordered wine, poured it ourselves. Never offered bread by waiter. As we were having dessert, young man came by and offered biscuits. When reservations made, mentioned it was our anniversary, never a mention of the special occasion. When meals came out, the waiter asked if plates looked ok and didn’t see him again until we were finished. Wasn’t that busy! Really dissatisfied
Such a great place! Everything was amazing! Lobster bisque was the best I’ve ever had!!
Staff all seemed very nice. However service was extremely slow. 10 min wait to be seated (with reservation and many empty tables). The entire evening was very slow. Multiple requests to get more wine etc. I think our server was v nice, perhaps he had too many tables….
Gus was a fabulous sever. Food got out to us in a timely manner hot and delicious.
Bristol is lovely and we always enjoy going there. Our server was phenomenal!
We recently dined at Bristol KC. On the reservation we had noted it was my husband's bday and the hostess mentioned the special occasion but the waiter did not acknowledge the event or offer a complimentary treat etc. This oversight is not my reason for the low score-the fact that one main waiter and a cook in the visible kitchen were not following the same Covid mask rules that the patrons were expected to follow. The issue is not whether you agree with masks during Covid or not, but that the city is under a strict mask order and the restaurant had posted multiple places that a mask must be worn at ALL times when not seated at your table. Guests were expected to mask up to walk to the restroom and back to their table. However, one waiter was walking from kitchen to table the entire evening with his mask tucked under his chin-mouth and nose exposed. He carried food this way and spoke to his table guests in this manner. He was not our waiter but this was a highly visible act as he was quite busy walking around the entire evening. There was also an employee in the kitchen that was observed with his mask down at times. On other notes our waiter was difficult to understand as he mumbled, and did not carry off a professional attitude. I just feel like the lack of attentive staff, mixed signals with masks and overall "feel" of the evening did not match the food (which was delicious) for the price tag of over $100. I would not re-visit this particular location and know that it is not at the level of other Bristols that we have visited.
Made reservations for 8 on Mother’s Day and was told that the restaurant offered valet service when verifying the reservation. Arrived the afternoon of Mother’s Day and was told that they don’t actually have valet parking. As a result, my 75 y/o mother had to walk 4 long downtown city blocks to get to the restaurant. The only reason I made the reservations is bc they stated they’d have valet parking for her easy accessibility. If we’d have known this we’d have booked reservations at a more appropriate restaurant.
Subsequent service was great if we were at The Outback or Chili’s, but not at the level we expected for the Bristol. None of their famous biscuits were offered or available until the middle of the main course. Servers did a terrible job of clearing the table between courses and didn’t provide appropriate cutlery until asked several times. Served our desert and coffee service while the table was full of empty lobster shells and dirty plates from the dinner service. I ordered the bone-in ribeye at Med and it came very rare. I could go on and on. Service is not up to par relevant to the menu price.
Will not be going back, especially if I have to try to figure out parking downtown in Power & Light District without the benefit of a valet service. Very disappointing experience given the wonderful history of this previously wonderful restaurant.
My family always comes for Mother’s Day Buffet and can’t wait for its return.
We save the Bristol for special occasions because we can't afford $200 lunches very often ... but the Bristol never disappoints. We went there for Mother's Day and had a great meal. Went to Panda Express for Dinner to average the day out to $100 per meal. Winner, Winner ... Chicken (fried rice) Dinner!
Amazing service! Ed was amazing, attentive, fun and knew what he was taking about!
Overcooked and overpriced
The food and atmosphere were both fine. Good experience.
Our server, Ed, was amazing, friendly, and funny. He made our trip to Kansas City a wonderful memory.
Had mahi and it was very bland....you could also tell it was previously frozen as the texture was mushy.
Bristol always delivers great food and service. My fav location is piwervsnd Light district. Totally romantic and chic vibe.
A beautiful Sunday morning brunch out on the patio. Great food, great service!
The last time we ate at Bristol it was wonderful but this time it was just ok. Portions aren’t very big for the price. Service was horrible. Our waitress only came to our table a few times the entire time we were there. After we got our food she only came by to ask if we wanted dessert and then to give us our check. Very disappointing experience for what we paid.
Great food and our server was very attentive!
The food was very good, but service was only okay. We had a reservation for outdoor seating but had to wait for a table to open up my husband and I each ordered a glass of different pinot noir by the glass, and each came out ice cold (as if the bottles had been stored in a refrigerator just before pouring). We aren't the type to complain or send things back, but this aspect definitely put a damper on our nice evening dinner out celebrating my husband's birthday.
Date night with my husband. Enjoyed the delicious lobster bisque, Hong Kong scallops for me and seared scallops for him, plus carrot cake for dessert. Lovely evening, great food, attentive staff.
Great meal and drinks never disappoint at the Bristol. I wish they had something besides potato on the starchy sides. They would not give.me the risotto that is on the menu. And why? Because it goes.with one entree and it's limited in quantity. Hey Bristol!, make.more. duh
Awesome service. Great happy hour. Sat on the patio, it was lovely!
Food sucked honestly. The $600 bill was equivalent to a $30 meal from McDonalds
Food was delicious, . Service was excellent. Atmosphere was wonderful!
The overall experience was just ok. For a $200 meal I would not go back... nothing really wow’d us accept for the biscuits!
We have been to Bristol before and always enjoy it. The ambiance is nice and the service is very good. We had good service and our meals were good. We had two steaks that were overcooked and the manager came over to our table and immediately ordered two new steaks which were cooked perfectly. We greatly appreciated the swift, wonderful customer service. Thank you for the wonderful meal and customer service.
As always, I love the Bristol. My only real nag is the table tops need linens on them. They have a strange stickiness to them and should be covered with something. It could be due to Covid that linens are no longer on the tables? Not sure but it would be nice.
Had another great meal at Bristol. They never disappoint. And Gus’s service was spot on!
We decided on Bristol for our wedding anniversary. Started out great with complimentary champagne & delicious lobster bisque. Then we waited 45 minutes for our main course. Our server never checked on us once while we were waiting. When we finally got our food my salmon was extremely dry & my husbands steak was cold. Again, our server didn’t check on us to see how everything turned out. I’ve worked in the food industry for many years so when I’m disappointed with the service it’s really bad.
We don’t mind spending extra money for great food but this was extremely overpriced for the food and service we received.
Hoping it was just a bad night but we will not be returning.
The service was some of the best I’ve had in a long time!
Food was fantastic! My filet mignon was so tender and juicy, I could literally cut it with my fork. Gus is a very pleasant server, very attentive, while respecting our privacy and allowing us to enjoy our dinner. Overall a very good experience.
I really enjoyed the experience of the restaurant but overall the food was only OK and not what I was expecting. My lobster was over done and my scallops were a little tougher than I would’ve liked! The lobster mac & cheese noodles were hard but the oysters and lobster bisque were five stars! The service was only OK as well, our waitress did not check in on us as frequently as I would’ve liked, I had to ask for refills of water from different staff memebes and would have ordered more drinks if I was asked. Overall 3/5 stars.
My girlfriend and I had dinner for our anniversary and everything was really good. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.
My daughter and her boyfriend went for a birthday dinner. Said food was great and their service was super pleasant!
Food very good as was service. Had halibut and a special. Both were very good.
I should of requested a different table!
A nice quiet booth would of been nice.
Still recovering from COVID. Seemed to be short-staffed. Our server was great/nice/professional, but 3 of 6 meals came out with incorrect side items... There were long stretches in-between server checking on us (but he was extremely busy with other tables). Happy to be out in restaurants - but hopeful for all restaurants that they recover and can create the same service levels they were previously known for.
Service was exceptional, staff management was attentive, and the food was delicious. Definitely worth the price.
