   Food was OK (steak was the best) but the experience was significantly impacted by the sticky table (had recently been refinished—it was pretty uncomfortable to be honest).

   Extra ordinarily long wait time after being seated. Took about 2 hours to get food once seated. Our guests spilled his ice water and it took 40 minutes to get help to clean up. We had no problem wiping it up but ended up wearing some of it because we didn't have enough napkins. Food was good but add in a lack of acknowledgment when seated for long periods made it subpar from the service we have received in the past. Hoping just a busy night.

   The service was excellent! He was very helpful with suggestions and he came around just enough to make us feel taken care of, but not so much that it felt intrusive. The food was excellent, and for good seafood, the price was not outrageous! We will definitely go back!

   A couple years since our last visit to the P&L Bristol and it was the same as last time which was just "meh". The calamari appetizer came out within like 3 minutes of ordering it. (like they were pre-making them) We did not even have our glasses of wine served yet! The calamari is also cheap on the actual calamari with mostly vegetable fillers. (go have the Cap Grille calamari which sets the bar) Dinners were Lobster Cobb Salad which was essentially a giant bowl of salad/greens with a dash of everything else. Crab cakes were the other dinner and they were just passable and served barely warm/cooked enough to not send back. This all came out again unexpectedly fast. The place was not that crowded (and a Saturday night too) so I'm not sure why the kitchen was so rushed. The high top bar tables are also all sticky from whatever they use to clean them! They are clean but feel dirty/gross. The service/our waitress was good/attentive. The Bristol in Overland Park is MUCH better and consistent than this location and would recommend that one/will continue to dine there. This downtown location however, has seen the last of us.

   We had an amazing experience from the time we arrived until we left! The atmosphere was lovely and our server, Devon, was the best server we have experienced in years! He was attentive and engaging and that added to the great food experience. The biscuits with honey butter was a surprise treat that we enjoyed. The only downfall was that we didn't have room for desert!

    We went so the wife could have the fried lobster tail. Make that tails as you get two. It comes out with the meat mostly pulled out of the shell and both meat and shell are breaded and fried. Kind of a weird presentation. She liked it so much, she would go back immediately if she could. Her sides were french fries and cole slaw. My wife does not generally like slaw, especially a wet one, but this she liked as it was dry. I had a bite and it was one of the better dry slaws I have had. I had the filet, cooked medium, with lobster risotto and whipped Yukon gold potatoes. While the filet was cooked to my liking and very satisfying, the sides are where the meal fell down for me. There was hardly any lobster in the risotto and some of the rice was undercooked which made them crunchy. It also wasn't as creamy as it should have been. There is a local restaurant which also has lobster risotto on the menu and if I might be so bold, the kitchen staff at Bristol might want to eat there to taste a really good lobster risotto which might help make theirs better. I wouldn't consider the potatoes to be whipped and they were more a mashed potato. To me, whipped potatoes should be somewhere between mashed potatoes and potato puree and Bristol's definitely weren't. I saw whipped potatoes, my favorite style, on the menu and my heart sang. They came to the table and my heart sunk. Our waitress, I am older and old fashioned so sue me if I am supposed to say waiter, was personable and attentive. She seemed to know when she needed to be there and when not to be there. I saw her as she was walking through the area and she always had a smile. We really like the decor and the layout. We dined at 5:30pm on a Friday and the overall noise level was not too bad. We have dined later in the evening and on different days with noise not being that big of an issue. We have always been able to carry on a conversation without raising our voice. We will be back.

    The place was nice . However the table had a sticky feeling . Our server was nice , the food came out luke warm and tasted like it may have been sitting . It was not the best . It was our first time but we probably will not be returning .

    My wife and I wanted to celebrate, and decided to check Bristol’s out. We absolutely loved it!!! We couldn’t have been happier with how fast such an amazing seafood and steak dinner was served from the time we checked in. Our waiter Devon was exceptional, and we truly enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere. Great job to everyone. We’ll be back… 👏👏👏

    We always enjoy eating at Bristol when in Kansas City. This year was not a great experience. Our server seemed distracted and drinks took longer than normal. They also weren't very busy. There were 5 of us and most of the food was good/average. One of the group had the sea bass and it was very dry and overcooked, almost inedible. I would have said something before we left, but she didn't say anything until after we had left the restaurant. At first I figured it was just an off night, but then the table next to us was seated with a group of 8 with our same server. She was very attentive to them with drink orders and bread (biscuit) service and that's when we realized we never got bread service. I work in the hospitality industry and know people/restaurants can have an off night so I will chalk this up to an off night and we will be back. Happens again, probably not.

    This was one of our worst KC restaurant experiences in a long time. Even with a reservation in a mostly empty restaurant, it took several minutes to be seated. Once seated, we were not greeted or brought water for 10-12 minutes, and the server only came after we asked the host to address it. When our drink order was finally taken, it took another 10 minutes (for a bottle of wine). The food (fresh fish) was average at best. No apology or manager visit to address the poor service we were receiving. We will not go back here and will support local KC restaurants instead.

    We were meeting a dear old friend who is quite ill, and wanted seafood, so I found Bristol online. The restaurant was gorgeous, the menu offers lots of delightful choices, and the food was fabulous. Thank you, Bristol, for making such a memorable meal possible. I will come back when I'm in Kansas City again.

    I have never had a bad meal at The Bristol but this one was not so great. The evening started out great with drinks and biscuits. Then we asked for more biscuits and it took almost 30 minutes. It also took at least that long for our food. My husband had the chicken which was great. I ordered the beet salad with salmon and it was more than underwhelming. The salmon was extremely small and the salad was some spring mix and a few beets. After I questioned the salad -thought it was missing a few ingredients, I was told it was because I ordered the dressing on the side. They brought me a bowl of chips? Anyway-I will stick to ordering the maple glaze salmon which never disappoints. We had 5:30 reservations and ended up rushing to our 7:30 show. I was disappointed. I will go back but this was thumbs down.

    This location has really changed directions. The menu has moved to more of a bar food with a casual atmosphere but fine dining prices. They have also removed some of the dishes from menu that the other location has such as gumbo. The food was not good and this was not just a bad night. This is our third visit this year and the conclusion is the same. As they say third time is a charm. Won’t be back!

    Food was good except for the lobster, lobster was not good. Coursing was all messed up. Ordered the 3 course but they brought oysters out after the lobster bisque. Food tastes good other than that. Seemed like a busy night.

    We had a great time celebrating a late Valentine’s Day. We only had to wait a few minutes for our table and the service was good. The only thing I would change is cleaning our table better, it was a little bit sticky and having a printed beer list.

    Wait staff were incredibly accommodating. They gave us the impression that what ever we wanted, we could have. The value did not receive a full value because there was some confusion with the three course entree. We expected to be receiving lobster tails with our 59.99 meal choice but never received them. We aren’t sure if the confusion lord on our part or the restaurant’s.

    I brought my sister here on a whim for her birthday. We didn’t know anything about the place. It’s definitely a little pricey so you’ll be paying $40+ per entree. We ordered everything; app, diff entrees, diff desserts, diff cocktails. Everything was good, but nothing was amazing. Overall it was a good experience, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

    Dined for a birthday celebration. All the food was overly seasoned to the point shrimp and scallops were not enjoyable. Excellent smoked old fashioned cocktail with “magic” smoke presentation was the highlight. The crust on our complimentary bday dessert (peanut butter chocolate torte) was so thick and hard it was inedible. Left after it had been freezing rain and no salt was put down on the brick sidewalk out front. Not as good as last time we dined here. Leawood location is more reliable. Kudos to our attentive waiter though. We had excellent service.
