Bristol Seafood + Steak + Social
The appetizer sushi is to die for. I would of ordered it 10 times if I didn’t order a delicious steak
I already left them a comment. These survey's are becoming annoying.
Sunday Brunch was just ok. Nothing special to go back for.
Tried a little sample of the hot item-ok—a bit of the prime rib— just ok, and the desert bar was dip your own strawberries, carrot cake (which was a 10), and a chocolate mini cake. Service was ok. Overall would not blow all my calories on their brunch much better elsewhere. My sister asked how it was and when I said ok not great she said that is what her friends had said too. Hope this helps. Grand Street cafe on Plaza and Avalon Cafe in Weston are spectacular.
We made a reservation with very short notice, and they were able to accommodate us easily. Good food and drinks, and great service. We'll be back for sure.
I loved that our party of seven was sat in a private room together for my birthday celebration. It was quiet and we could talk freely. The food and service were both amazing. We will definitely be returning for future special events.
We had a lovely time celebrating our anniversary. Our waiter was great and informative. We ate and drank from the happy hour menu and were happy with our choices. The $ oysters were a great deal. WE were given a choice of desert to share on the house in honor of our celebration. The live music was a lovely touch and added to our evening. Will return and recommend to others.
We loved having our group lunch in the private room
Always a great experience. Food and service excellent. Great Happy Hour!
While the food was good, our service was lacking. I felt like our server would rather be anywhere but helping us. Why aren't dishes from salads/soups cleared before entrees are brought to the table? The diner is left to clear the area and hold on to the dirty dishes until the entree is being served.
A fantastic evening with old friends at the Bristol. Half priced bottles of wine, a really friendly and knowledgeable server and delicious food.
Remarkable food and service. A must go to place
Besides the fact this was a buffet style brunch, the waitress was a little bit inattentive to our needs. The floor manager picked up the slack and made this a wonderful early Sunday funday
Time with my mom
Excellent food. Top notch staff with great food and drink recommendations. Meal was paced perfectly. We very much enjoyed our visit and plan to return.
Came to KC for the weekend to begin planning a 2020 convention and wanted to check out what else was good in KC besides BBQ...and Bristol came highly recommended. While the first Friday "traffic" (road closures) kept me circling for parking for 15 mins, our reservations were held...though, surprisingly, the restaurant crowd was light. While a concern--the light crowd--I had faith in the recommendation...which Bristol lived up to...
From the moment we were embraced by the welcoming engagement of our server, Crystal L, we were on a trajectory of a good time. The sweet biscuits--further sweetened by the honey butter--were a good prelude to the lobster bisque which was really good--enhanced by a presentation of a sufficient amount of lobster followed by a pour of the bisque. Then I went for a Crystal recommendation, the Seafood Mixed Grill, as part of the 3-course Prix Fixe menu--a good way to sample a few of the menu items. In fact, though I have sworn off crab cakes if I am not in Baltimore, those offered in the Grill did not take away from a good entree--with not as much filler as I expected. My final course was the peanut butter chocolate torte...and it, too, did not disappoint in capping off my meal.
I will definitely be back.
This isn’t the Bristol from the days of old. There’s no clam chowder, and the portions are ridiculously small. The biscuits were half the size they used to be; it’s all for the best since I need to lose weight, I suppose. For me and my two sons to eat here cost over $200. The steaks were excellent but just too small. My youngest son got a six ounce filet and it was practically a medallion. Also the decor was suburban new wave, like an office lobby. The service was excellent. I hate to write a low star review but the price did not equate to the amount of food we were served.
The waiter was terrible, totally ignored us was too occupied with another table. Didn’t take care of us at all we had to ask a different waiter for refills on drinks etc.
We were greeted right away and ordered a drink. It was 20 minutes before our bar drinks arrived. Our food was not terrible, but it was not nearly as good as would be expected for the prices charged. We have gone to Bristol for years and this was one of our worst experiences.
I don’t know if it was because it was a concert night, a holiday or Monday night, it was a very disappointing experience.
I had a 5:15 reservation and all food was served within less than 30 minutes. We didn’t have time to even get one third of the way through our appetizer of calamari before our main courses arrived. Was this the Bristol or an Applebee’s? For Bristol prices where a meals for 2 even without drinks is over $100, I don’t expect to be pushed through our meals.
Which brings us to the food. The biscuit person only came around once and the biscuits were not warm as they normally are at the Bristol. The calamari was fine except we had to ask for additional sauce. My friend’s entree of sea bass was fine, no complaints. However, I ordered the crab cakes which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The crab cakes came with a mango tartar sauce and a remoulade sauce both which had no flavor. The crab cakes could have used more seasoning as could the mash potatoes which were cold.
Our server did the best job he could. It seemed like he had tables all over the restaurant, rather in one specific area.
He was very pleasant and gave the best service he could under the circumstances.
The restaurant was loud, but that could have been because of the concert that night.
Every other time, I have eaten at the Bristol, it has been wonderful. I hope we just caught them on a bad night.
Really fun atmosphere, and the food was delicious! Highly recommend
Our server was great.
Yes I would suggest the Bristol to a friend. The swordfish was excellent. My wife had the seafood grill which was also very good and had a nice variety. My broccollini was not very warm when served, but was immediately replaced and was just fine. It was a birthday dinner which was acknowledged by the front hostess, but not by the server. But that was no big deal at all.
Brunch was good and worth giving a try. I was expecting more options.
Went with some friends for brunch and was not disappointed! The food and service were both amazing. Highly recommend!
1. It took 2 hours to get our food when the restaurant was 1/4 full.
2. The steak was dry
3. The potatoes were cold
4. Someone at my table ordered the same thing as me and ended up with different sides because “the kitchen is slammed”
5. I was never asked if I wanted a drink
6. Carrot cake was delicious
Food is always great! I had the seared Halibut, very good. The cauliflower mash is amazing, I could have eaten a whole plate. Had the carrot cake for dessert, one of the best I've ever had. Service is always very good and the live music was great too!
Waitress was fabulous; friendly and outgoing.
Food was delicious.
My birthday evening at Bristol's was great. I dined on some of the most succulent seafood dishes. However, there should have been more grilled asparagus when they plated the mixed seafood grill dish. This would have balanced the meal.
Some the best seafood in KC. Excellent location, very conscientious staff, daily fresh menu. Highly recommended.
Service was not good we had to ask napkins n forks
Great atmosphere, amazing food and very attentive service. Everything was prepared exactly as ordered and tasted even better than we hoped.
It was our anniversary and the extra effort made to make us feel special is the reason we enjoy Bristol so much! Ulysses and Zara are great! Our salmon and halibut was some of the best we have ever had.
It was an adventure to get to the Bristol on Sunday in the awful downpours of rain----but it was SOOOOO worth it----greeted at the door by smiling faces, seated in a great spot, immediate attention by our water, good food (always something new to try)---all of these things combined to make it a perfect date!
Brunch was amazing
Read many reviews before dining at Bristol’s Seafood.
If I returned I would go the seafood route and not the steak. My husband halibut was cooked perfectly. I ordered my steak rare and the flavor was nice, just a lot of tendons for a filet. The service was very good.
We celebrated our anniversary and truly loved the atmosphere, food and the service.
Several items out of stock(steamed mussels, mahi mahi, etc.). Otherwise would’ve rated the meal with 5 stars.
Romantic date spot.
This is a great restaurant to visit! The food was amazing and the seafood was so fresh and tasty. Our waiter was great and made sure our dinner was perfect.
The Bristol never disappoints, excellent dinner, atmosphere, and service!
