After making a reservation with confirmation etc the restaurant was closed. Don’t understand why you would allow reservations at restaurants that aren’t open due to Covid.
It was NOT open!
We love the patio on a nice day. Not quite ready to eat indoors yet.
The food is consistent but not anything special except for the wontons which are always great. I had heard they remodeled. It was cleaner looking with new carpet and paint but not much else. The wait staff did a great job, friendly but not intrusive. I'll always go back but not for a special occasion.
Despite being almost empty, it took a while for a server to come to the table. She apparently was new and needed coaching. The new décor does not absorb sound well. I ordered the pork Dijonais which was good, but the green beans came with peppers in them--which has never happened before (I had the green beans just 2 weeks earlier there and there were no peppers in them) and I had to send them back because I am deathly allergic to peppers of all kinds. Several weeks ago they put peppers in their mixed vegetables without notification and I had a very long discussion with them about this (because it was carry-out only at that time and I had to make an extra long trip back to the restaurant. If one is adding something to a vegetable it is essential that it be listed or referenced in some way to those ordering. The manager gave me a new portion of the green beans without the peppers--and was most kind.
So glad our old standby has re-opened for inside dining. Wonderful to see Felix, meet a new waitress, and, feel like things are going to be ok despite the Covid19 pandemic! The wontons weren't quite up to standard..I think they may not have been warmed enough as the filling had a grainy texture, but guacamole sauce was great! My steak sandwich was perfect and Bill's Thai Stir Fry with Shrimp was yummy!
Favorite restaurant. Great food. Great service. Great value.
Food and service was great!
It’s a consistent place. Menu was very limited due to Covid. Shrimp and grits were average. Steak was very good. Service was fair
Consistently good food. Awesome service by LaSue. She makes it a good dining experience.
The Bristol on Bardstown is my favorite restaurant. I have been a regular customer since the seventies and always celebrate my birthday there.
Got the green chile wontons. Excellent appetizer, unique to this restaurant. Side salad with Harry’s dressing. Salad Not as fresh as I remember . I had Theresa’s pasta chicken. Wonderful as always. Hubby had their burger, looked juicy. Said it was cooked just right. Wine and beer list good with very reasonable prices.
There were 5 of us that went for dinner. Only one of us actually like the food.
Waiter and staff were friendly, attentive, and appreciative for the business.
Good food, excellent wait service; however, the hostess was not particularly welcoming, actually, she was borderline surly.
We love the Bristol and go often. The Green Chili Wontons are a must and their Kentucky Hot Brown is very good as well. The Bristol is a great local restaurant.
As always, a great meal and outstanding service. It was a plus that on the night we dined, there was a benefit for APRON, a charity to support food service workers in need.
I was truly disappointed in my recent visit to Bristol. I am a Louisville native and have been going to the Bristol for decades. Probably, I will never go back. I took a couple of guys there in town on business. Both of them were excited about an Urban Bourbon experience. After looking at the "Book" with all of the Bourbon's listed, 3 of the first 4 choices were not available. Then when the Ribeye steaks came, the fat and gristle we had to negotiate was simply horrible. There are many choices in restaurants. Rarely is a product so bad that I would say anything, but this visit was embarrassing. If this is what has become of the Bristol, it will soon be a restaurant that used to be in Louisville.
Excellent wait staff. The steak was outstanding. Crabcakes were a bit too spicey.
Felt like we were at the waffle house. Patron's dressed as such. Get back to where you use to be and the decline of the Bristol will end.
Valentines date
This was our Valentine’s Day dinner and celebration. We had a great time. We had reservations and upon arriving was seated immediately. We had to wait a little on our waiter but he made up for it throughout the evening. The food was very good! I had the salmon teriyaki with a salad and my partner had the white chili, salad and crab cakes.
Poorly prepared food. Good waitress.
Our server Pat was superior. He didn't miss a beat throughout our entire dining experience. All of the staff were friendly and top notch. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the the Salmon Teriyaki and the Green Chile Won Tons. From our arrival to departure our dining experience was flawless, all the way down to the table request I made when making the reservation on here. They will definitely be at the top of our list for dining choices. If you haven't been to the Bristol Highlands location I highly recommend you try them out....I believe, afterwards, they will become a regular for you too.
Highlands Bristol has been a family favorite for many years. We always love the food and the service. It is our go-to place for large and small gatherings. They have good vegetarian options as well.
Beat the rush for an early dinner and had a great meal. All the food was great. Bread fresh from the oven, wonderful soups, and fresh ingredients made everyone’s meal enjoyable.
The inside hasn't changed from the early 2000s and that's why I think the reviews aren't great but I love the food! Service is always good and the price is pretty fair.
Amazing food and service. A classic. Out of gluten buns but delish without! New favorite!
Green Chili Hot Brown and Fish Tacos, complemented with icy Budweisers, were excellent.
Great experience and great food. I had a reservation for 10 people and everything was great.
A very busy evening, but we had reservations and were seated immediately. Very attentive waitress, and we enjoyed our meals. Will be returning again.
Sunday Brunch was a total disappointment. Food was mediocre. Not presented attractively. Waiters nonchalant. Standing and chatting with themselves. The bacon was crisp.
Had a great Sunday brunch with family!
Food and company were great!
LaSue was a fabulous server! Very friendly, courteous and we always had glasses full and empty plates taken away!
We'll definitely be back!
Teresa:)
Food was good. I was surprised the presentation was lacking
Service and ambience were outstanding. Appetizers of green chili wontons were the bomb! Pork chop dinner was ok.... needed more spice and salt and pork chop was fatty. Ordered NY strip and was brought a filet. They fixed immediately. Steak was borderline med rare instead of medium but that was ok. Potato’s—-were lumpy and bland. Quite honestly they seemed verrry buffet style. Desert was lava cake. Had no lava though. Cake was bland.
We really like this place but they need to amp up sides and dessert.
My experience was great. Excellent food choices at a reasonable price
Food was very good, waiter was excellent. Bloody Mary’s were terrible. We have eaten brunch here before and that is why we returned
Waiter was not very attentive. Accused us of misplacing straws that he didn't give us.
Wonderful thanks! True Louisville experience.
Great as usual. My friend had Teresa's Sweet Chili Linguine. I had the Black Bean Soup and Fish Tacos. It was all delicious. The Bristol always executes dishes well. Ponch presided in waiting and did his typical superb job, but then all the staff are first rate,
