The service was so slow. We had to ask multiple times just for water.
Amazing food! Very friendly owner and Manager Elizabeth was great!
We visited New Orleans for the first time and this was the last place we had dinner before returning home. It was great!
We will try again. Service was a little slow. Food was very good.
Briquette is a very pleasant restaurant to which to go. The food, staff and service are excellent! The restaurant has a nationally recognized wine list as well.
We were greeted with a nice but overwhelmed hostess. At first we agreed to sit outside because it was noisy in the dinning room but we felt forgotten about outside (the host was the server), so we moved to the bar. We weren’t greeted at the bar.. had to ask for menus and such. We order two mojitos, the crab cakes, the filet, and needed a bit more time to decide on the other entree. The bartender checked out IDS and I thought he would be making out drinks, but we never received our two mojitos. We felt very neglected. On top of that, the bartender had a weird mask that said “This mask is as worthless as our mayor”. That set the tone lol. Should have said the mask is as worthless as my service. We never got a drinks so we canceled the rest of our dinner. Never had an experience this bad. The crab cake was delicious tho.. I really wanted to try the other food. Did I mention this was my birthday dinner for me and my fiancé?
Not a bad experience, super slow. Drinks and food were good, but can be had for less in NOLA. Ambiance was nice, but a tad loud for table conversation.
Consistently great food and great service ........
Love the interior of this restaurant. Staff was very friendly and food was delicious.! My only complaint was our table was too close to the high top near the bar. Every time someone got up they bumped into one of my guests chairs. Otherwise it was great!
The food and service was really good i will be going back
Our 2nd trip to Briquette. The food is spectacular. The backend of the house has it right. The front of the house needs work in the worst way. Service at the beginning is ok when the house is less than half full. As tables fill up, the service gets horrible. The service issue was the same the last time we ate here. Chef knows how to make Crepe Appetizers. They are the best in town. The steaks were perfectly cooked to order. The fish dish was delish. The fried ice cream dreamy. If the front of the house service gets fixed, this place will easily compete for more New Orleans diners.
The food was on point for local fish options in New Orleans. We ordered the Blackened Redfish & the Snapper Ponchartrain. I think that the Snapper Pontchartrain could have had more flavor because the crab and hollandaise sauce were too mild. I think that the dessert that we got with the creme Englaise sauce was a little chintzy on the berries with only 3 blueberries and one cut strawberry for how much meringue is in it.
Went with a large group. The steak was Ok, not cooked to requested temp. Half the fish orders were perfectly cooked the other half were overdone. Every side and appetizer was amazing. Truffle crawfish Mac was killer (special). The thing that made our experience was by far our waiter. He was great and even accommodated the young kids that were with us.
Went to dinner for a friend’s bachelor party. Staff was condescending and showed an attitude the whole time. The food was fine. I do not feel as though the prices are quite worth it.
The food was delicious! The server and host were very attentive.
Ordered a fish platter and it was horrible and skimpy.
Briquette is an outstanding restaurant with delicious fresh seafood and excellent service. This is our second of eating here and could go back every week.
Service was slow... our server was also acting as hostess. Food came out and sides were cold and my red snapper skin was mushy and NOT crispy. The review read didn’t match our experience.
Just perfect
Top notch from start to finish. Perfectly cooked scallops on crisp goat cheese grits, followed by whole branzino and their take on Bananas Foster with molasses and plantains. Superb service, never felt rushed. Highly recommended!
Great food and good drinks!
Excellent service and meal
We went to Briquette for the first time Friday evening. We had been wanting to go there and just hadn't gotten around to it. One of our friends went recently and raved about it and we had the opportunity to go and so, did. The restaurant is very beautiful, very New Orleans with the exposed brick. The lighting was not too bright and we enjoyed being able to see the exposed kitchen. Our waiter was great and we all enjoyed our meals. Our table had the whole branzino, the salmon and the chicken marsala with pasta. All were excellent. The salmon was really good, but the crabmeat on top of it was divine. The portions are extremely generous. We met the owner and his wife and they were very friendly and warm and made us feel most welcomed. We had a lovely evening and will go back and take others. It will be a great go-to place to take out-of-town visitors.
Great service and food was excellent. The goat cheese crepe with crawfish appetizer was delicious
They always say first impressions are usually correct. We had red fish with potatoes. The dinner was just plain. No flavor and the potatoes was the best part of the meal. Skip this restaurant. There are to many great restaurants in NO.
To make matters worse our waiter was unfriendly and made the whole experience terrible.
Overall our experience was good. The service was a bit slow but the food was delicious.
Excellent food and service! No crowded on a Thursday night.
The food was very good. The wait staff was very unorganized.
First of all the food was delicious. We had the ahi poke and the lump crab Napoleon for an appetizers. Both were fabulous. We ordered the redfish on the half shell and the snapper ponchartrain for our meal. We preferred the redfish but would order either again.
Now for the negative. Service was HORRIBLE. We sat 22 min before anyone even coming to speak to us. Upon the Waiter speaking we Immediately ordered a drink and over 15 min later the waiter comes back to say they can’t make either bc they are out of mint. No problem let’s have a bottle of white wine. He comes back after another 15 min with a bottle which he opens and then sits the $70 bottle of white wine on the table and walks off. Nothing to keep it chilled. Everyone makes mistakes but if you only check on us every 15-20 min it’s impossible to order anything and our wine was sweating and warm by the time he returned. Even seeing it sitting on table he didn’t act concerned until I pointed out we needed it chilled. He seemed like he could care less about being there. He was nowhere to be found most of the night. The tables near us were also his and they were loudly complaining. Shame is spoiled a nice evening.
Nice looking restaurant, nothing special . Drinks were good food was a disappointment. Will not go back way to many other great places to go .
Ordered a fish entrée for $45 I believe it was red snapper – it was just OK. Our server charged us twice for drinks (at the top of the ticket and then again at the bottom of the ticket) we didn’t realize that until we got back to the hotel. *He did bring the wrong appetizer and did not charge us for it, so it kind of is a wash. Early on it was pretty quiet, but by the time we left it was pretty loud.My son order a chicken pasta dish, nothing I would normally order at a restaurant but damn it was delicious! Waiter was friendl, hostess was ok
The food was surprising and we enjoyed it so much we came back a second night. Needless to say that was great too! The District Tournedos was my favorite but the Halibut and Duckling Girod were delicious too.
We loved the pork belly plantain mash! Floating Island was a hit as well.
Thanks!
Under cooked and under seasoned dishes. Would not recommend.
Really good food! The bread pudding was excellent!
We very much enjoyed our appetizer. We got the seared sea scallops and they were delicious. I ordered the dish with sea scallops and beef medallions and my sister ordered the snapper ponchatrain. Again I loved the sea scallops and the beef was cooked to my liking. The green beans were sooo good! My sister enjoyed her dish but felt the fish was missing a little seasoning. Overall everything was really tasty and well presented except that in my meal the grilled french bread was placed under the scallops and beef so it was soggy. I was looking forward to the crunch and different plating would have offered that.
Service started off well, after our entree orders were taken the service went south. Didn’t see the waiter for 30 mins at a time. Had to continuously asked about our drink orders, eventually got up from the table and order a drink from the bar during our meal. We were trying to have a good time with friends and towards the end we felt like we we’re getting rushed out the door.
Food was amazing. Highly recommend Blackened Redfish and Snapper Ponchartrain. Unfortunately, our service was more than lacking and that was with 2 servers. We will try it again sometime and hope for the service that this amazing restaurant should be delivering.
Food very overpriced for the meal . Plantain mashed is not good at all .
Not your run of the mill New Orleans seafood restaurant with lots of fried options. Multiple grilled options- red fish, bonzino, and halibut to name a few. The meat options looked delicious, but it was a Friday during Lent so specifically looking for seafood.
The food and cocktails were delicious!
And the service was exceptional! I had the grilled halibut and my husband had the pork t-bone.
We actually went back the following night as well. This time I had the roasted duckling and my husband had the scallops and filet medallions. Both were fantastic! Great service again!
