The food was fine.... took close to 45 minutes to even order our dinner. Ordered drinks and got our champagne after our appetizers arrived. Nice server but timing was off.
Plesant setting, nice range of seafood d8shes, accomm9dating kitchen, plesant service, nice artwork
The dinner and service was exceptional. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and made wonderful suggestions for our selections.
Great service!! The grilled swordfish, pasta, & gumbo were very good. The crab cake was not good, it had soft stuffing layers similar to stovetop stuffing that overwhelmed the crab.
Delicious seafood restaurant. Attractive dining room and bar.
Poor waitresses last night but all else was outstanding as expected!
The service was not good... no one greeted us at our table for 10 minutes and the server was snippy with us after returning our cocktails... flat club soda. The entrees were very good and the King cake dessert was amazing but the kale salad with very wet and mushy.
Grilled fish and shrimp paired with fried green tomatoes. This meal was delicious!
We were 1 of 3 tables dining at 1:00pm on a Friday. Took appx 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. Had to get the waiter’s attention to get refills. Ordered the fish sandwich which ended up being fish fingers/ strips on a bun, served w/ “rosemary fries” which were fries w/ only a hint of rosemary. The other person dining with me ordered the pasta dish which was mediocre at best.
First time at briquette (we live in the neighborhood). Greeted by the owner and his wife, super friendly and welcoming. Very attentive service without being overbearing. Nice menu with enough variety without trying too hard to be too many things. Dining room is large, got loud due to approx 80% full dining room. Good for a lively dinner but probably not the place for a quiet date night etc. will go back.
very good food A.J. and his wife are the owners and are always there .. awesome
Loved the food and the atmosphere - very pretty restaurant. Also was genuinely very impressed with the value. The portions were relatively large for the prices, and made for great leftovers. The service was a tad bit slow, but otherwise we had a lovely experience and would absolutely recommend Briquette!
Loved the waiter Keith was really helpful and insightful.
Great experience and incredible food! We can’t wait to go back.
Oysters Bienville was a great appetizer. Seafood gumbo was perfect. Redfish on a half shell was the best redfish I have ever had - and I grew up eating local seafood!
We can’t wait to go back.
Amazing service and food here; the fried eggplant and the burger were wonderful and so full of flavor; if you are down to your last $20 take it here and spend it; great experience A+++
The food and service were both very good. The BBQ shrimp Por-Boy was the best I have ever had in the City. Our server Brandon did an excellent job.
Everything was excellent including food and service and tour of the kitchen by the owner! Highly recommend!
I was in New Orleans for a business trip for five days. Of all the restaurants I and friends visited, Briquette was the best. The combination of truly excellent food, good selection, and outstanding service was better than others, even including some with famous names. Highly recommended.
Outstanding food in a beautiful setting. The owner is there making sure everything is top notch. Ask for a tour of the kitchen. It’s impressuve. Can’t wait to go back.
Best blackened redfish ever. The shrimp appetizer was also fantastic
Great service, our waiter Brandon was super! Food was excellent and the dessert, molasses factory foster was out of this world!
There wasn’t many people there. The food was great. Seafood salad was a little pricey but really good.
It was definitely one of our honeymoon highlights! Our server was very patient with us and explained the menu as we are not used to the city or the food. We enjoyed our meal and some pretty nice STRONG Manhattans. I will definitely come back to briquette next time I visit New Orleans!
Went for the 1st time, experience and food was awesome especially since I was coming from out of town. Recommend
My wife and I tried this newish restaurant at the last moment on a Friday evening. I wanted seafood and we were curious about this place after seeing it while under construction. The restaurant has a fairly large and open dining room with a view of the kitchen (behind glass). Everything is new, shiny and clean. My food, a green salad and a red snapper dish, was good, in line with what I expected. My wife’s scallops were too salty. Her salad was served with very little dressing and she had to ask for more. Otherwise, the service was ok, but I thought it might have been the waitress’ first job as a server. We would likely visit this place again but it will probably be a while given all the choices available in New Orleans.
Great service. Enjoyed a relaxing delicious dinner with a great wine.
The variety of fish selections was great. Loved this new hidden gem.
Our server Mike was very knowledgeable and helpful selecting our choice of appetizer and our meals. The sauteed scallops on a fried grit cake for an appetizer was awesome, pepper crusted New York strip and the Snapper Pontchartrain were awesome entrees. We will definitely go back next time we go to New Orleans.
Great restaurant with great food! The portions were good and everything was served hot/tasty.
Charcoal grilled fish was good but with a theatre kitchen you get to see all the shortcomings. Obviously understaffed. Service was terrible. The matre Di was fantastic. Took our drink order. Helped with menu selection. Had pleasant convo , delivered food from kitchen that was left sitting under a warming light and even brought our bill since our server was nowhere to be found.
I understand the owners have other interest in Florida etc. Too bad they do not pay attention to NOLA. Craft cocktails were a weird concoction on some old classics, Grasshopper and original Cuban daiquiri not even close Got a good bottle of bubbles figuring that would not be an issue. It was not, delicious If I were to return it would be because of the m’aitre di.
Food from the soup and salad the entries to desserts was excellent.
Try the old fashion.
Fell flat for new orleans cuisine. Waiter kept bringing incorrect items and giving them to wrong person. Crab bisque tasted more like chowder and looked like it had been microwaved to be reheated. Bread was cold. Went to celebrate a birthday and i wish we had gone somewhere else with all the wonderful choices for restaurants in new orleans.
Food was absolutely amazing! Service was not. We were there for 2 1/2 hours. We watched 15 tables come in after us, and leave way before we did. We waited 45 minutes just for water and our drinks.
Food was good but there were a few mistakes in our dining experience. We understood the added gratuity however they added a $90 gratuity on one bill which I feel someone would’ve noticed before running a $150 transaction for ONE meal! Two entrees had to be sent back and we just felt like once we ordered the service went down hill fast.
Loved the decor and the seafood was perfectly cooked!! Thanks for the delicious meal.
This was a random last minute find of a restaurant but happy about our decision. The scallop appetizer is our most memorable food experience in NOLA. The scallops were amazing themselves, and the Goat Cheese croquettes they were on - indescribable....I wouldn't have minded having a box of them to go. The rest of the meal was delicious as well. If you go, you have to get the scallop appetizer....maybe a few and have that as dinner.
Good but not great. Scallop with fried goat cheese grits for the starter was the highlight. Pan sauteed snapper was good, but the tiny threads of crab on top didn't match the menu billing of "lump crabmeat". My husband's grilled fish selection was okay but a bit dry. Very, very loud when we arrived at 8 PM, noise level of got more bearable later. Service was lackluster.
WOW. i HAD READ SOME BAD REVIEWS... I could not understand why. The service was great. Our server Michael was on point and had great recommendations. The two owners were bartending, helping out in the kitchen, interacting with the guests... double and triple dutying. 3 chefs in the kitchen...excellent job chefs! Had the Alaskan halibut and the Sword. Many leftovers. Everything was spot on. A totally unexpected find! I will definitely go back and recommend to friends. Thank you groupon for helping me find this awesome restaurant. Definitely sit by the open kitchen and watch the chefs do their magic
Went to dinner with friends. The food was great especially all the redfish dishes. The place is in a lovely old building and was the perfect place to talk and enjoy a nice dinner. Unfortunately the server was not very helpful or attentive. He seemed a bit disengaged which was odd because the restaurant was almost empty. We will be back!
Found a nice quiet place for our last dinner in New Orleans. The food was excellent. We started off with the scallops and pork belly salad. I would recommend for a nice low key evening.
