The waiter was great! Soup was cold but fish was good!! Compared to most restaurants in New Orleans just average.
Jackie was an excellent waiter! He recommended the chicken gumbo and it was great. The staff were all very friendly and the kitchen staff showed us the different fish on display. Food is excellent and well worth the extra $$.
A nice atmosphere. I also like to being able to watch the chefs in action from our table but it wasn't too obtrusive. Our server was wonderful she was so sweet and attentive. The food was very good.
Opentable allowed me to reserve at a time when the restaurant wasn’t even open. Thankfully, the manager was near and allowed us to come in at a reasonable time. The restaurant is very fancy. You can see the preparation of food thru the glass and the fish looked delicious. I even saw them take a small family behind the glass to choose a fish. The waiter was wonderful. The food wasn’t as great as expected.
Work dinner. Amazing. Everyone was impressed. We started with the mussels, and then from there everyone had something different and everyone was happy....fish, lamb shank, mmmm
My husband & I both enjoyed our dinner here. We ordered Tuna poke for an appetizer to share, Red snapper for my husband & halibut for myself. The fish was fresh & delicious! The snapper was the whole fish which my husband enjoyed. Would definitely recommend & return again when we’re back in town!
Got the wrong salad, right salad was too heavy with dressing, hardly any lettuce. Mussels not fresh only a few plump the rest mushy. Coffee terrible and cappuccino came from a package. Not shy about prices. Bread not warm and not good bread. Bad coffee and bad bread in New Orleans is a sin. Won’t go back.
My wife and I were in New Orleans for a conference and just happened upon Briquette when looking at options on Open Table. Looked interesting, so we went for it.
The cocktails were delicious.
The Ahi Poke was fresh and delicious.
The Briquette Salad was amazing!
We shared the rib eye which was prepared very well!
No room for desert!
I enjoyed a beautiful birthday dinner at Briquette, just a few minutes walk from my hotel. Ambience was lively and mature. Who poke and scallops appetizers were a delicious way to start the night. The Tournedos medallions and scallops were perfection.
Great service, food is very good and the ambience is great.
Fabulous whole fish options (recommend the red snapper), all fresh local catch. Impressive wine list and tasty creative cocktails.
Food was very good! Service was excellent and professional.
Outstanding service from our waiter Timmy! The food was good and very well presented but excessively salted. We both had meat dishes and in hindsight should have tried a broiled fish ... they looked very fresh but were overpriced for the current market.
It was my first experience coming fo Briquette and I honestly picked it since there was a groupon for it however, it would have been worth it to go either way. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. Our waiter was prompt and I never wanted for anything during the meal. I absolutely recommend the crab bisque! It was my favorite thing
Energetic spot in the Warehouse district with a seafood-heavy but varied menu and reasonably-priced wine list. Food was very good for the most part, but we had a terrible experience service-wise. In short, our party of 9 was seated 5-10 minutes after arriving for our 8pm reservation, but didn't get appetizers until 90 minutes later. We skipped desert due to the delays; the total dining time was a bit over 2.5 hours.
I think the crux of the problem is they are woefully understaffed. Our waiter also handled cocktails/wine, poured water, ran the food, and bussed the tables. That was probably partly the reason why we couldn't even put our cocktail order in until 20 minutes after sitting. He was overwhelmed dealing with other tables. Then there was supposedly some snafu with the appetizer order being sent to the bar accidentally and the printer running out of paper. But the real problem is none of this was explained at the time; not until we sought out a manager did we find out what was happening, but basically the manager didn't really seem to care about the terrible service experience. The waiter was working his buns off but had no support from management, and even the kitchen disappointed (e.g., the 9 entrees came out over the course of about 10 minutes). The manager's apathy is why I'm writing this review - he could have done many things to mitigate the service issues, but again, he didn't care and gave excuse after excuse. So certainly we won't be back, and we suggest others consider alternative establishments. Oh, and this was the ONLY restaurant of 4 we ate at with the group of 9 over the weekend that had a mandatory 20% tip, so clearly they know their service sucks.
Thank you for the great hospitality and wonderful food°
Fantastic service and food. Definitely a must when in NOLA!
We waited 15 mins after being seated to be welcomed. I thought coming at 8 it wouldn’t be too late for service. Food was ok expected more from all the reviews.
The waitress brought my wife the wrong drink. The second drink was ordered, the waitress went in the back of the restaurant and was socializing with the other staff. I had to go to the bar and get my wife’s drink and bring it to the table. According to the bartender “ it has been sitting here waiting for her to pick it up “. I ordered the pork chop medium. The first one came to the table overcooked( dried out). They took it back to the kitchen and sent a second plate. The manager came to the table as I cut it. This one had an uncooked center. It was not slightly pink. IT WAS RAW PORK. The manager offered no explanation, apology or any consideration. My wife and I eat out 3 ,4 times a week. On the way home we talked about this being the worst meal /service that we have ever had.
Too noisy I must say that the placement of open table seatings are never ideal tables
Food was overpriced and over sauced
I would not go back. WAY to loud, too expensive for the ambiance.
Probably the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. Waiter disappeared for almost an hour. Couldn't get anyone to come refill our water. Our reservation was at 7:00 and our food wasn't served until almost 9. We were a party of 6, not gigantic. Food quality was good when it finally arrived. Waiter had lame excuse for why he didn't bother to check on us.
Well prepared food, great waitstaff, lively atmosphere, and great location!
Disappointing food. There are so many amazing restaurants in New Orleans, and this did not live up the the reviews/expectations. Would not return.
Excellent food and we loved watching all the activity in the open kitchen! We also enjoyed great service during our experience. Be aware, the restaurant has little sound absorption so it is VERY loud.
Good high class dining. Above average food. Lots of fish dishes.
Good food, service and price is reasonable. Will recommend to others.
We had a wonderful meal. Meeting the chef in the kitchen and seeing the catch of day was a class act.
It was fine. I feel like I ordered the wrong thing. Drinks were a little much.
Great spot, seafood gumbo outstanding, so was oyster casserole. Service excellent, nice facility. I plan to go back.
Gumbo and dessert were great, but our entrees were not. The “ribeye” was not a ribeye and our bill even listed it as a “sirloin”, but the price was still the same. It was overcooked. The fish was bland and had a large grizzle-like piece through the middle. This place is OK but needs some work to compete in this town.
Special menu for the National Championship game featured the best hamburger I’ve ever tasted! The restaurant easily accommodated our group of 12. Everyone left happy!
I liked the ambience and the food was good but not exceptional. The service was poor, our waiter almost threw the water into the glass, spilling water on the table and not cleaning it up, did not show us a wine list, did not ask if we would like drinks, and then returned and asked if we were ready to order. It felt as if we were a nuisance that he just needed to get through. After we got a wine list our wine selection was not available, ok it happens, but then he asks if we are ready to order again and one of our party was in the restroom. He really did not care enough to pay attention to the guests at the table.
I’m won’t go back.
Food was good but the service was not. We had to wait 30 min for our bottle of wine after they didn’t have the one we wanted. Too much time until salads came and then dinner was right on top of them. Server was disorganized and had a hard time prioritizing.
we had a group in New Orleans for the National Championship game. I was in charge to make reservations and was having a difficult time finding one that accepted a large group (we started with 11) that had good reviews. I finally picked Briquette based on other reviews, the menu, and the location. we were not disappointed, it was a loud and festive group at dinner, the waitress was very attentive, the mood was great, the food was excellent. I don't usually write reviews; but the Red fish special that I had was really fantastic. Everyone had the same experience with their meal. The only disappointment was the Oysters Rockefeller; which were prepared in a special way - we would have preferred the more traditional way. anyway, it was a good experience and would recommend to anyone.
What a wonderful time with friends! The food was beyond amazing!!!
Their fresh whole tripletail is outstanding and
The poblano butter takes it over the top.
Food and service was outstanding. Very very noisy. Distracting. Would recommend and come back.
Great time. Enjoyed our first experience at this restaurant. The waiter was engaging and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious and the open kitchen was interesting to watch. We will definitely return on a future trip to New Orleans.
We had a delicious dinner at Briguette. The oysters Rockefeller were delicious as was the filet mignon my partner had. I had the tuna poke bowl to start and the bisque as an entree, Both also delicious. As a dessert we shared the king cake, the green part with the pecans was my favorite. price-quality is well balanced, our server was friendly and advised us well
