The place was so noisy that it affected the whole ambiance. The food was pretty good but we just wanted to flee because the sound level was so high.
The Food is amazing. The bartender Ted is awesome. Great happy hour. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We started with drinks at the bar and our bartender Ted was great. Our food was excellent and so was the service. We will definitely be back!
We went for lunch at a very slow time. Food and service were excellent. We met the owner on our way out, who was so friendly and engaging.
We vacationed in the New Orleans area for the first time ever from Mid-Missouri. Briquette was chosen based on their offering of a voucher on Groupon, and the restaurant's ratings. I am so glad they chose to advertise on Groupon because the experience we had was amazing.
We were a table of four guests dining and we all ordered something different from the appetizer, main course, and dessert menu. Each of our meals was well cooked, well seasoned, and plated beautifully. The food was excellent and the service we received from our server, Darrell, was topnotch. He seriously made the experience for us. He was knowledgeable about the menu, wine pairings, even the history of the building, and had great recommendations.
If you are looking for a "casual classy" (upscale but definitely not pretentious) restaurant with great happy hour specials and delicious food, I highly recommend Briquette.
The food at this visit was just super!! The pork chop and the salmon were perfectly cooked and the flavors were outstanding. We tried the appetizer special was a crab cheesecake that was light and so good!!
Our server,Darrel, was great fun and VERY knowledgeable about the menu and the wines.
The noise level is high even though they have tried to dampen it with ceiling panels. Never the less, the atmosphere and the food trump any noise level shortcomings.
We had a throughly delightful evening with friends
I could have gone back every day and been happy. The Food and whole experience was superb.
Amazing fish and the scallops are to die for
The large table with a number of men celebrating what appeared to be a bachelor party was very noisy but that didn't detract from the excellance of the food or the service.
This was our 5th or 6th visit here. We had a Groupon & I noted thAt when I made the reservation via Open Table. We were seated at a nice table & actually had a wait person who we had as a trainee a couple of weeks earlier. I ordered the restaurant week menu & my husband ordered the fried catfish which he usually gets. When the bill came & I informed the server that we had a Groupon she said that he Gropius wasn’t accepted for the restaurant week menu. Why wasn’t I informed of this when I ordered? Clearly it was muted on the reservation that I had a Groupon. We paid the bill without the Groupon. Upon leaving, I asked to speak wit the owner, Anthony Tusa but was told he wasn’t there but his wife Anna was. I explained to her what happened and her response was “sorry”. Completely unacceptable. I dud my part by informing the establishment that I had a Groupon when I made the reservation. I’d like to know how I wad supposed to know that the Groupon would not be accepted for the restaurant week menu???? The waiter did not inform me when i ordered that the Groupon would not be accepted for the restaurant week menu yet my reservation clearly stated i had a Groupon. Completely unacceptable especially for a local resident report customer. I’ll have to rethink dining here in hue future. Apparently Briquette doesn’t need or want my future business.
Lesley, Thank you for your feedback. Groupon is actually a coupon purchased for dining. You purchased $60.00 worth of food and beverage for $35.00, and Restaurant Week is a discounted menu for three courses at $39.00. The Groupon coupon can not be combined with any other discounts such as Happy Hour. Restaurant Week Menu is a discount, and can not be combined with a Groupon. The Groupon states these stipulations. Sorry for the position you have taken. We hope to see you again.
Beautiful food, superb service!! Don’t wait!!
Too much food!!
The crab bisque was amazing. Red fish and Snapper fabulous
This restaurant had a great vibe and the cocktails were good. But both my and my husbands meals were mediocre at best.
The crab Napoleon was Outstanding!
The red snapper was delicious add some crab meat to give your self a treat.
The king cake is special.
My wife likes the wine selection I like the old fashions.
Service was great, and the hospitality of the owners is outstanding!!!
The whole experience is special.
Every time I visit New Orleans I look for deals on Groupon. Luckily Briquette was offering a Groupon during my visit and I’m so glad I purchase it. For starters, I had the creole gumbo and my husband had the lump crab bisque. They were both really delicious but the gumbo was by far the best I had while visiting New Orleans. I also had the blackened redfish and I really enjoyed it! My husband had the snapper Pontchartrain and he loved it. Our waitress Rachel was really sweet and helpful with food and drinks suggestions. We will be returning!
We didn't enjoy the food. The meat was burned. The cake really too sweet. But the service was excellent.
The food was amazing! Our server was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, and helpful with making great recommendations. The atmosphere was just what we were looking for. Overall, it was a great experience.
It was nice and elegant I felt the upscale vibe perfect for what I had intended
It was very good. We got a tour of the kitchen that helped us made a decision of what to eat. The house potatoes are so good!
It was our 1st time going and the first restaurant after getting off plane. We enjoyed ourselves and the food was delicious. My pasta had a good flavor. Need more veggies on the menu. Also, the chair are hard and we were hoping the place had booth orncushioned seats. However, the decor and art work was nice. We will definitely be back again when we are visiting New Orleans.
We truly enjoyed our time and most definitely would go back. Our server Darryl was amazing. Our only issue was n.y steak was overcooked.
Food was good, price was a little higher than expected for the food. Honestly, the only real issue is that it's in New Orleans and we live here so I'm comparing to other New Orleans restaurants that I know have much better food at price points less or at a minimum equal. Outside of New Orleans this would get much higher ratings.
the waitress does not attend us well at the time we said we had a groupon voucher
Delicious Food !
Had the coolinary menu with delicious creole gumbo and pork and beef medallions. Food was very good. Would come again!
I would suggest that you offer straight valet parking without a $15 charge. Could turn people away :( from a very good restaurant .
Place was beautiful but food and service were terrible. Only 3 tables in restaurant had people yet we had to ask for more water. Shrimp were frozen and cooked- not good restaurant quality.
When our party of 8 walked in we were shown to a table next to the kitchen door, bathroom and tableware service area despite the fact the restaurant was practically empty. The restaurant never filled up and the noise from the adjacent areas was more than distracting and annoying.
Great service! Manager was friendly and knowledgeable. Wait staff and kitchen staff were excellent.
Be sure to order the locally-caught fish. I had a blackened Redfish, which was very good. My wife had the swordfish, which wasn't as good. We went mid-week in late August - so the restaurant was empty. Our waiter was very professional.
I tried the Coolinary Menu. The scallops on goat cheese grit cake, 6 oz. center cut filet mignon and the bread pudding beignets. All were fantastic. Our server was Darrell, very friendly and knowledgeable. Ask for him. We met the Chef and got a tour from the owner, A.J. Tusa, Jr. On of the best dining experiences in the 5 years that I have lived in New Orleans.
Our waiter Daniel was fantastic! Everything we had was excellent. Our waiter suggested the Floating Island dessert. Go for it! Fantastic. Great experience overall
Our dinner was delicious. Don’t order the kale salad very chewy, we could not eat it. It needs to be removed from the menu. Great dining experience. The chef was not very nice we ask the waitress to mention to him about the kale prior to requesting it removed from our bill and he just walked away from away from her with no response. I know this because it’s an open kitchen with a glass window separating the dining area.
Hidden gem! A must for seafood lovers.
The food was amazing. I order the Alaskan Halibut with Brussels.
I mentioned it was my friends birthday when I made the reservation and again when I checked in but nothing really special happened for my friends birthday so it’s not like I expect the highbrow restaurant to all gather around and sing happy birthday but I thought they would do something special to acknowledge her birthday.
Really great place, food was very good, noise level was not excessive for the size, able to have a decent conversation between the4 of us without difficulty.
Food was great but the service was awful. There was only one waiter working the lunch crowd and the host/manager didn’t offer any assistance to the overwhelmed waiter.
We enjoyed the bar and the dinner. Definitely a great night!
The food was good but not fantastic. It’s overpriced. Our server was not very nice. Kindna rude and was not very attentive . It was my first time there and I will not come back
