BRIO Tuscan Grille - Winter Park
I’m not going to let one bad experience tarnish the many good experiences I’ve had there. But the service, or should I say lack of service, I received Wednesday night was appalling. On three occasions I had to ask another server to find my server. My order was placed and my check (finally) brought to me by a second server I flagged down. The waiting and frustration put quite a damper on what was to be a happy birthday celebration!
It was our 25th wedding anniversary and we chose Brio's because we had a great experience several months ago. The best part of our second visit was the service - our waiter was friendly, attentive and not intrusive. Unfortunately the food want not nearly as good as our first time. Starters were decent (lobster bisque, spicy shrimp and eggplant), but the mains were mediocre at best. I had the Strawberry Balsamic Chicken Salad - it was mostly lettuce, with a fair amount of overcooked chicken, almost no strawberries, grapes or pecans, and far too much dressing - it was drenched. Some of the lettuce was already wilted and blackening. My husband had the Mediterranean Salad which was fresher and better balanced in terms of ingredients and dressing. Dessert was the Crema Catalana which was very good, other than the pile of brown sugar on the top (should this have been caramelized? Overall, disappointing for a special evening out - a pity.
Great vibe and good service. We're still trying to figure out what the best dishes are, however.
The receptionist was really disorganized. We were at the table awaiting a third person. We had a reservation which the receptionist saw. When our third person arrived, the receptionist said that we weren’t here yet. Finally our friend texted us after awhile asking what had happened and of course we replied that we WERE there. This should not happen. Service was very good. I’ve heard some of the servers complain about the receptionists in general.
Great food and ambience however our server was a little impatient and brusque.
We were there for a celebration of a friends engagement and I called ahead to ask about doing a dessert complementary and the host said yes, but the server never brought it out. The host also said we were sitting at the chefs table and when i arrived 15 minutes before our table was not ready and they told me someone else was already sitting at the chefs table. The restaurant was not busy and it took forever for the food to arrive. The menu also changed and was not impressed with the new selections. I have also liked coming here but they removed the brussel sprouts and no oil and cheese for the bread.
Our dinner was exceptional and our waitress was delightful! Her name was Jennifer and she was very attentive, engaging and funny!
The only thing I'm upset about is I had forgotten to tell her we had the Brio Rewards. I thought I could add the receipt online on my Brio Rewards account to get credit but I couldn't because it said I needed a Visit Credit # that was on the bottom of my receipt, it wasn't there.......it was a 200.00 check that I would have liked to get credit for.......
I was there for lunch and dinner the same day and both times the food was excellent as was the service. But this was no different than other times I have been there. I look forward to the next time.
Excellent service. Very enjoyable dining experience.
Lamb was tough, thought the drinks were expensive
We liked the food service was ehhhh. It’s just ok not great. Wouldn’t eat there again
The food was good, not great. The problem with our dining experience was the lack of good service. Our waiter never returned to see how our food was or to refill glasses anytime during the meal.
We have been meaning to try this restaurant for sometime and so happy we finally did.
We wanted to be seated outside because of the perfect weather. The inside of the restaurant is very beautiful and their patio area very, very pleasant and beautiful.
Our server, Will was absolutely wonderful...friendly, courteous, helpful and attentive! It was a wonderful experience. We went there for brunch. My wife had the Shrimp and Polenta, which she couldn’t stop raving about and I had the Italian Omelette that was huge and delicious! We definitely will go back often.
The menu was significantly smaller than our last visit and some of the main staples you’d expect or look forward to were removed from the menu. The food was average and my husbands pasta dish was a tiny portion. We won’t be returning. Our server was wonderful but too many other shortcomings for us to return.
Great location and service. The food is consistently good with a wide variety including gluten free option. Our waiter was fantastic!
Great happy hour! Good food and nice ambiance. We will certainly visit again soon!
Server took a long time to get to the table on an issue great. So just pretty quick after that time we were just hungry and ready to order one without down
One of our favorites 'Salmon Fresca' is back and we had a coupon for BOGO... We sat outside, it was a nice evening.
Our server was friendly and efficient with us.
Awesome and amazing lunch with hot wife! The dinner had enough options
Lovely place for a special mother/daughter dinner.
Food was really good and the wait staff was attentive.
Waiter was giving negative energy because he saw he had to serve to young people.
Great service. Good food and quiet evening.
Our criticism is all about the food.
I ordered a Wedge lettuce salad which was good.
My entre was Shrimp and Lobster Fettucine. I counted 4 small pieces of lobster and a few shrimp. Mostly pasta, of course. Salty, salty, salty. Why, why, why? For $26, totally not worth it.
The other entre was Chicken Marsala. My husband said it was awful; not the marsala flavor he was used to. I tasted it and it was very earthy, not sweet like other marsalas. Mushrooms were dried out.
Corporate needs to rethink their menu. Easy on the salt, easy on the sauces.
They do not respect the food.
We had not been to Brio in quite a while, and I was a bit disappointed in the food. My chicken Marsala was ruined - for me, anyway - by the addition of taragon. I've never had taragon in this dish, and it was not a good choice as it completely overpowered the Marsala. There was very little sauce on my chicken, and only three or four tiny mushrooms. My dining companions were satisfied with their dishes, however. I will say that the margarita flat bread appetizer was quite good, and the drinks and wine were great. Our server was attentive without being obtrusive. So despite my disappointment in my entree, the evening was a good experience.
Excellent food and service! Always great
Food was good , the service seemed a little slow for a business lunch.
We had a lovely dinner to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Everyone enjoyed their entree.
It’s horrible when the waiter keeps checking ur girlfriend out every time he passed by & in case he missed he made sure he turned around before crossing the doors to go inside the restaurant.
Been there many times but don’t think i will go back.
I wrote NO TIP on the receipt.
Super fun. Great food. Great service. Definitely will be back.
Environment and service was excellent. But food quality was average. My pasta was dry with little sauce. My first bowl of soup was excellent. But waiter forgot to bring my second bowl I asked for. When I did get my soup. (after my meal) It was not as good as the first. It was very thick. I have no Idea why?? Even though I this has happen. I still will go back for special occasion. I'm going to assume with it being Valentines day. They were very busy....
We travel to Orlando on business about twice a year, and always look forward to dinner at Brio's when we're there.
Wonderful birthday valentines family dinner! Service and food were outstanding.
Great v day dinner! Service was great! Food was very good. Will be back again. They also have the best happy hour.
It was really nice there. We went there with my husband. My only complaint is that they brought my food and then we had to wait for my husband’s food like 15 mins. And I don’t like my food cold. They apologized for that.
Sat by people who smelled bad, turned on some annoying music, wait staff was adequate, very eager to clear table, leaving white butcher paper. It used to be a wonderful, special place that was delightful to visit. Now it feels like a hurried, average eatery.
GREAT LOOKING PLACE. MIKE OUR WAITER WAS AWESOME. THE MANAGER THAT WAS WORKING CAME BY AND SAID HELLO. FOOD WAS SUPER. DID NOT FEEL LIKE IT WAS VALENTINES DAY.
Awsome as always! We are looking forward to coming back
Food was terrible and overpriced
Our waiter was nowhere to be found most of the meal. We had to flag him down at least 3 times. We never received drink refill, he never checked on our food or ever cleared our plates. This used to be my favorite restaurant but between the small portions, high prices and cleanliness of this last visit, it’s not likely we will return.
Very disappointed to say the least!
